I read Lighter cover-to-cover over the course of a few days and since then I've been amazed at how EASY and JOYFUL it feels to make wise food and feeling choices. The author shows how to tap into the underlying emotional cues that we often mistakenly handle using food, and better ways to achieve fullness. This book provided me not only with an in-depth understanding of the emotional roots of excess eating, but also many incredibly helpful tools for PROPERLY attending to my emotional AND physical needs. I am so grateful I stumbled upon this book!
Regardless of someone's emotional relationship with food, this book brings mindfulness to the unconscious/subconscious impulses that drive unwanted behaviors of all types. Once the impulse has been traced back to its source and made conscious, the power it has to fuel unwanted behaviors is drastically reduced if not eliminated completely. This is one of the many powerful truths in this book, along with lots of hands-on and specific tips to help readers along the path to greater physical and emotional/psychological health. I highly recommend this book for both its transcendental and practical insights.
