About the Author

Dann Hazel, Ph.D., is a Florida-based educator, life coach, and author. His professional experience includes teaching high school students, directing college preparatory grants, counseling in a private psychiatric hospital, teaching psychology on the college level, and writing. He has earned three master's degrees (in education, clinical psychology, and media psychology), as well as a doctorate in psychology. Dann's doctoral dissertation is entitled Relationships of Psychological Well-Being, Social Morals, and Personality among Religious and Non-Religious Individuals. A book based on his research findings will be released in 2016. His writing credits include a number of magazine articles about the Spoleto U.S.A. Festival in Charleston, SC, a young adult novel, and Witness: Gay and Lesbian Clergy Report from the Front. For about six years, he co-authored several Walt Disney World guidebooks with his spouse. His short stories, including "The Tick Wars," "Haitian Elegy," and "Riding to Jedburg," focus on characters facing unique obstacles to fulfillment, yet, because of their ability to cultivate confidence in their personal strengths, they emerge victorious from life's challenges. Dann currently resides with his spouse, Josh Fippen, and their Siberian Husky, Rocky, in beautiful Lake Wales, Florida.
