Overview

Lion Eyes (Shifters Unbound Series) by Jennifer Ashley

Bree has just decided to give up trying to be a Shifter groupie when a lion Shifter slams into her truck and tells her to drive. Seamus is on the run from hunters, other Shifters, and who knows who else. All Bree knows is that he's compelling, needs her help, and most intriguing of all, wears no Collar ...

Seamus McGuire fears he's gone crazy-feral-and become a killer. His only hope of getting away from the hunters and police on his tail is Bree, a human woman who not only knows a lot about Shifters but has great compassion for them.

Things are more complicated than they seem, though. Seamus is on a mission-to protect those in his care after the destruction of Kendrick's compound of un-Collared Shifters. Seamus must keep it together and make sure his charges stay hidden, but at the same time, he's pulled to Bree as he's never been pulled to a woman before. He needs to prove he's innocent and not crazy before it's too late for himself, Bree, and those he's vowed to protect.

Bree is a shifter groupie new to the Austin Texas area and she is out trying to find a new place where she can belong, a place she can hang with people with similar interests, what she doesn't expect to have a shifter barrel into her truck and getting shot at by shifter hunters. Seamus is an uncollared shifter who is on the run and is responsible to people who are depending on him to keep them safe. He can't remember anything from the fight he finds himself at or the dead humans that are torn up at his feet, but he does know that if he doesn't get out of there fast then he won't be protecting anyone. What he doesn't expect is to end up in the truck of a cute shifter groupie that keeps surprising him with her strength and selflessness. When the Morrissey's and their trackers show up at Bree's home shortly followed by cops, he knows he has to get out of their, even if leaving Bree is getting harder and harder to contemplate. All ends well, the murderer is captured, and all involved find a home in the Austin Shiftertown. It is always fun to return to the Shiftertown and this one was enjoyable. It did have to curse of the novella--they fell in love in like 2 days, but this time I was fine with that. I mean shifters are supposed to have some sort of instinct that knows their mate when they meet them and Bree and Seamus were just cute and sweet together.

** Read as part of the Dark and Damaged: Eight Tortured Heroes of Paranormal Romance ** ~ 5 Lion Eyes Stars ~ Lion Eyes is part of the Dark and Damaged: Eight Tortured Heroes of Paranormal Romance Box Set and is set in Jennifer Ashley’s Shifters Unbound series. I love that her novellas can be read out of order (standalone) and give you a great taste of her writing and Shifters Unbound series. This is a quick read. The relationship moves fast, but when a shifter finds his/her mate, that is how it goes. All the characters are great and entertaining. I like the human shifter hook ups the best in this series. I also enjoyed returning to the Austin shifters and seeing what is happening in their world. I loved Lion Eyes and if you enjoy reading about shifters, then you should pick up Jennifer Ashley. I highly recommend her Shifters Unbound series. It’s one, especially the novellas, that I read over and over again.

An action packed novella featuring one of the uncollared shifters we met in the last book. Not crazy about the cover but the story was good.

A great read. This novella was action packed from word one. It was nice to meet another lion, watching him find his mate and with the help of the pack solve a life threatening mystery. Loved it!
