The book I chose to write a book review for is Little Beaver and the Echo. The author of this book is Amy McDonald. The illustrator is Sarah Fox-Davis. I chose this book because I have read it over and over. I think it's great! In this spectacular story a little beaver hears an echo. In the beginning little beaver cried outloud and he heard somebody cry on the other side of the pond. In the middle he got in a boat and set off and on the way he met some friends. In the end he finds out what it is. It is the echo. The big idea in this story is the echo because he cries out loud and he does not know what it is. A great quote from the author is "He got right into his boat and set off to find him" when he meets his echo. I would recommend this book to someone who loves animals.

Little Beaver and the Echo is a beautiful book in many ways. For kids ages 1-7 it tells the story about friendship. The story is great for sequencing, the repetitious nature makes that children can easily recognize the story line. Pictures are beautiful as well: kid friendly, but realistic at the same time. Don't be surprised when your kids are trying out the echo next time on a hike! momoftwo.
