This book definitely exceeded my expectations. It is written in a style that is easy to follow and to understand. By living long the author is referring to living past 100 and by living strong she means fit physically mentally and spiritually. She uses bible references to prove that God intended His people to live long productive lives full of blessings. Each chapter follows His words on a topic related to a productive healthy life. There were some ideas that I hadn't thought of before, and some theology that I questioned and had to research for myself. I like a book that also challenges me and makes me think. This book is for anyone who wishes to live a long full life following God's plans.

I always learn so much more than I expected to, when I read Gloria's books. This book and God's Master Plan for Your Life are outstanding. I will be reading both again.

I'd also like to recommend "When God Stopped Keeping Score" by R.A. Clark. It's revealing look at the power of forgiveness. If you ever felt trapped by anger, guilt, resentment and/or pain, then this book is for you.

This title was provided for review by Hachette Book Group. Although I didn't totally agree with the overall message, that we can live to be at least 120 years old, I did like the ideas that she presented to living a strong life. I did agree with her that our lives will be done when we have fullfilled our purpose on earth and God is "done" with us. I liked how there were confessions at the beginning of each chapter and at the end of each chapter there were points to remember. When I listen to audio books sometimes my mind gets dragged away and I forget parts of what I've just heard. So the points to remember really helped me keep track of what was being said. At the end of the book there is a whole list of different Bible versus that talk about living long. I think that was kind of neat, that she was able to pull all of these versus together and put them in one place, as a handy reference (if you have the print version). The writing was very good. It was so simple and had a good bit of humor included. I could really tell that Gloria had done her homework for this book, and the stories of centenarians were quite inspiring. But I think that living a long life is part of the makeup of her and her husband's ministry, so I would imagine she's been gathering this information for quite a while, not that it makes it any more or less inspiring. The narrator did a great job reading. She had a Paula Dean quality to her voice. She just sounded like someone with so much love in her voice. It was more like listening to a friend talk that listening to an audiobook. I'm not sure if that was from the way the book was written, the narrator's voice, or a combination of the two (I'm leaning towards the later). Overall I think this was a good one. I don't know that I would have picked it up on my own, but I'm glad I was given a copy.

In Live Long, Finish Strong, Gloria Copeland presents a scriptually sound program to show readers how to claim the promise of a long and blessed life. Gloria believes the Bible teaches that God's plan includes a life span of at least 120 years. In this book, she reveals through faith in, and focus on, the Word of God, people can be energized and renewed regardless of their chronological age. Each chapter helps readers implement the principles of this amazing process. From "Scriptual Antioxidants" to "God's Healing Promises," Gloria addresses specifics that readers can use to claim this supernatural health for themselves. Here is an insightful new look at God's divine health plan for His children and a personal invitation by the author to join her in living a long and strong life until God calls us home in victory and triumph. "God may not be through with you yet," writes Gloria. "You may have been in training for a long time. You may have wisdom and a capacity to bless people that come only after many years of service to the Lord. If so, you're a valuable soldier in the army of God." Don't be willing to leave this earth until you're sure you've finished the work He has called you to do. Determine to complete your mission so that when you stand before Jesus you can hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Come discover the divine secrets to living long and finishing strong. (Excerpt from back cover). My Review: I absolutely loved this book and its Biblical principles to living a life, both spiritually and physically fulfilling for the work of God to be completed by us. I love the chapters that show just how we can ask for a youth renewing in our physical bodies as well as praying for healing when we don't feel like we should from aging pains to diseases. There are chapters on scriptures for healing and in leaving our lives in victory and triumph to head to our eternal home, instead of wallowing in pain filled with disease. My favorite chapter was on the willingness to stop negative beliefs and words from leaving our mouths whenever something is physically wrong with us. Have you ever heard someone say they won't live to the age of 40 and then die at 40? It's about changing our beliefs and words to match up with our faith in God and what His word says about our lives. How else could Moses have lived so long or ever Abraham and Sarah having kids at such a late age? We are the ones sometimes who dictate our own demise by what we believe and say. What a wonderful way to change our perception on what God's plan is for us in our life. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars and a great reference book to keep on hand. I received this book, compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Books Groups, for my honest review.
