Enjoyed the story, but wish there had been a disclaimer that it is WAS NOT in fact book #1 in the Delta/Cage Foster detective series, as noted on the BN website. However this takes place AFTER Skeleton's Keys and the author included the solution to that mystery thereby ruining the next story for me. Unfortunately I had already bought the nook book now it will just go to archives. I hate to know the outcome BEFORE I even read the book for the first time. I won't invest any more time or money with this author in case she has a penchant for giving away the answers again. BEWARE

Living Victim by Stacy Green is the perfect example of an author showing the readers rather than just telling them. The descriptions in the book completely immerse you in the storyline and make the book impossible to put down. I'll warn you though, there are graphic scenes that aren't for the weak of stomach. If you love Criminal Minds, you're going to love this novella. Off to start reading the next one in the series now.

Cage Foster is a favorite character of mine and I enjoy Green's novellas--short crime suspense reads.    One thing about a novella is they are short and you can read a complete tale in one sitting, which lends itself to immediate  gratification rather than stretching the suspense for several days. Green has a unique and refreshing writing style.   Her stories incorporate a lot of desperation to resolve the crimes, but the story is never rushed and flows smoothly to a satisfactory conclusion.

Stacy Green's Living Victim This is the start of a new series….Delta Detectives. The new Criminal Investigator for Adams County Police turns out to be Cage Foster. Cage was a character in Stacy Green’s Delta Crossroads series according to the promos. I have not read the prior series but after reading “Living Victim“, I will be reading the books from that series. Now a lead investigator on a case that appears to be a natural death, Case is plunged into the dark world of a hoarder whose property has been the camping hideaway for a serial killer who is holding a kidnapped victim. Who is this perpetrator? How many victims have had their lives taken? Will Case be able to save the hostage whose blood is all over the camp site discovered? Will the so called squatters help or hinder the case? This is a stunning emotionally packed read that presents the harsh realities that crime investigators face daily. The story has very vivid descriptions, vivid characters, drama, suspense, mystery and unpredictable plots. There are points in the book that are so realistic that you can picture yourself doing or feeling what the characters are doing or feeling. The author weaved the characters past and present together to flow smoothly and effortlessly. This is an action packed, great read with chill and thrills and twists that keep you on the edge. Allow time to read from start to finish in one sitting because once you start reading you will have to keep reading non-stop until the finish. Thank you to the author for the eBook. My opinion is my own.

Cage Foster is back in a new series the Delta Detectives. He is now a criminal investigator who is trying to keep his town safe and his pregnant fiance happy at the same time. This is a fast paced mystery as Cage tries to find a missing girl. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to find out what will happen next. I loved every minute of it and I look forward to the next book in the series!
