• Medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn:
16 oz dark green
10 oz gray/blue heather
8 oz green

3½ oz sapphire blue
3½ oz grass green

• Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle

Gauge

Square = 9 × 9 inches

Special Stitch

Long single crochet (long sc):

Insert hook in st indicated, yo and draw lp through, yo and draw through 1 lp on hook, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

Pattern Note

To change color, work last stitch until 2 loops remain on hook; with new color, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. Cut old color.

Working through both thickness at same time, join matching color with sl st in back lps(see Stitch Guide) of corresponding sts in upper right-hand corner; working in back lps only, sl st in each rem st and end of each row across. Join rem Squares in same manner.

Border

Join A with sl st in any long sc along; ch 2, work long sc in each rem long sc and in end of each row around outer edge of afghan and work 3 long sc in each corner; join with sl st in 2nd ch of beg ch-2.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
