Overview

Nate Niklas, nationally-known recording artist, is in love with his friend, Rachel Greene. Upon confession of his true feelings for her, she tells him she only wants to be friends.

Heartbroken, he gives up his lucrative singing career and takes an extended trip to Ireland to assess his life, his ambitions, and most importantly, to take some time away from the woman with whom he needs to fall out of love. Telling only his best friend Carter of his plans, he leaves Los Angeles.

In Hawley's Island, Ireland, he meets a new batch of friends, eventually learning that you can try to run away from a broken heart but there's no hiding from it.

About the Author

Brett Nelson lives in Arkansas where he was born and raised. He wrote his first novel in 2012, just to see if he could. His goal is to write stories of fiction that are clean, easy to read, fun, and that injects a layer of his faith into every novel. In short, he desires that his readers would finish every novel having experienced a tapestry of emotions from a good healthy cry, fits of amused laughter, soul-splitting inspiration, and everything in between. He has published two novels to date and will publish his third novel in early 2021. He has completed five full-length novels, though only two are published, and he is currently writing three more, all in various stages of completion.

Other than writing, reading is one of his favorite things to do on a lazy, rainy day (or a sunny day, or at the beach, or...well, you get the picture). His favorite authors include: Mary Higgins Clark, Robin Cook, John Grisham, Katherine Spencer (Cape Light series), and Pastor John MacArthur, just to name a few.

And as a budding author himself, he enjoys dabbling in the novels of other budding authors, because you just never know when you'll uncover a new favorite.
