Overview

Katie Merton is a modern woman with a classic problem.

This graduate student has an impulsive streak. When her aunt and uncle invite her to join them on a last-minute, all-expense-paid trip to the Northanger Parks California theme park and resort, she jumps at the chance to visit her favorite place! Who cares that she's just started her final semester of graduate school and has a temporary job as a project manager starting in a few weeks?

Katie knows she's made the right decision to take this trip when she meets popular YouTube personality Ethan Thornton and his sister. Spending time with them makes the trip even more magical, and Katie finds herself unexpectedly carried away by the possibility of a new relationship.

She's convinced she's right about Ethan's feelings for her when the Thornton's invite her to extend her vacation by joining them for a week at the Northanger Parks in Florida. Once there, Katie struggles with the Thornton's domineering father, who sends her packing when Katie brashly kisses Ethan. Heartbroken, Katie returns home seeing all the ways her assumptions and misjudgments led to her banishment. She has to learn to accept Ethan's needs and make sure they fit with hers if she's ever going to find her happily ever after.

Welcome to Northanger Parks, the most wonderful place in the universe! A place for joy, friendship, and maybe love. This fun modernization of Jane Austen's Northanger Parks will take you on a romantic ride and across the US with Katie as she tries to get her happily ever after.

About the Author

After a mid-life crisis and failing out of college at the age of twenty, Sara Marks decided to live the life she wanted, not the one expected of her. Now a librarian with two masters degrees, she plans to never stop getting over educated. She started writing as part of the National Novel Writing Month program over fifteen years ago. She likes to write women who are like her: feminists who learn to live their best lives; rarely worrying about their age, weight, marriageability, or fertility. They fail and find second, third, and (sometimes) fourth chances to correct their mistakes.

Sara’s a hopeless romantic who is unlucky in love. She cries at nearly every movie she sees (ask her about when she cried at a horror movie), but it’s full-on weeping for Disney animated movies. She loves reading nearly every genre but likes to write women’s fiction, romance, and horror. She believes you have to find a balance with the reality of the world if you’re going to be a hopeless romantic!
