I read this one after I had already read book 4. I knew a few things were going to happen, but there are plenty of things that book 4 doesn't tell you! I love the twists. The author puts you into their mindset of survive and choices. I love the bond between sisters even with everything they've gone through. I can't wait to read books two and three! :))

This was an okay read for me. I liked the characters and the story just needed a bit more from the story. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Well, I'm on the fence about this book. I started to give it only 3 stars but then decided that any book that I start reading at 3am when I can't sleep then can't put down and wind up reading it in one day is worthy of at least 4 stars, no matter what problems I see with it. I will say it definitely holds your attention and makes you want to know what happens next. I wanted to cheat so bad because the suspense of Kip's mysterious life was killing me. There was a very good storyline in this book. As far as it being dark romance, it wasn't like I thought it would be. It didn't have a lot of sex in it. And not the really raw kind I expected. Of course, the lifestyle of Honor and all the other characters was really dark. What she had to do to survive was really dark. Her whole life was dark. Even when she had been protected growing up. She grew up in a mafia home. So when she was so opposed at having a gun or even reluctant to take a taser given to her, I wanted to smack her. This was part of the story I didn't like. Maybe she had just seen too much violence to want them. I thought it should scare her into wanting a gun more. Especially how she was trying to protect her sister. But this was a minor thing. At times I felt like there were conversations between people that the reader didn't get to read. Like it was in their head but never told. Idk how to put it. It wasn't bad enough that I wouldn't buy the book though. It didn't ruin the story. I understood what was going on. I guess my biggest thing is that I wish we would've had a better introduction to Ivan and Blue. From the get go we just see how repulsive Blue is to Honor but there are hints that she always sees something "flash" in his eyes. The male characters weren't developed like I would've liked. I know they get their own books but this read like I should've known a backstory of them almost. Except crazy Byron. He was just horrible. The girls were all written so well. I hope I don't sound too negative in this review. I would recommend this to anyone because I do feel like it's a great set up of a good world. I will definitely try out the next book.

Stripped By The Mafia This is book #1 in the Stripped series and it's a intense, heart breaking story of betrayal by those who mean the most. These books can be read as a stand alone issues. Trying to hide and keep secrets become second nature until you meet someone who is doing the same thing. But with secrets and betrayal, love shouldn't be a possibility. This book is well written and is so intense that it becomes a quick read, the characters break your heart and the plot breaks it even more.

5 years ago an author wouldn't even think of publishing a book under 300 pages, this is what happens when anyone can just upload a book now, no experience nor proper editing.. smh

4 Stars | White-Hot Steam Having devoured the brief, but highly momentous, Stripped Series prequel, TOUGH LOVE, I was irrevocably hooked and eager to discover what fate had in store for threatened sisters, Clara and Honor. And so, with bated breath and much excitement, I began LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE. And, oh my goodness, I LOVED it! Instantly compelling and thrillingly unpredictable, Honor and Kip’s story delivers a jagged, layered and enthralling adventure that weaves darkness and light with precision and purpose. Immersed in depravity and desperation, Honor and the other dancers are struggling to survive. I would shudder with loathing for those who preyed upon them and longed to swoop in, give each of the girls a hard shake, a million hugs and then drag them out of that horrible club! Far from a passive read, I found myself considering what I would do if placed in these scary situations, making hard decisions and incredible sacrifices. And, while I couldn’t endorse some of the choices they made, neither could I judge, because, with every troubling, questionable or demoralizing act, Honor and the other women somehow maintained their strength and self-respect. Their remarkable resilience was inspiring. Of course, not every moment is bleak. On the contrary, this story is also surprisingly buoyant with beauty, relieving truth and, ultimately, triumph. And, did I mention it’s also phenomenally white-hot-page-turning sexy?! Kip is every bit the fantasy—every delectable, muscled and mysterious inch of him. Imagine the world’s most strapping, *talented* and dangerously heroic man storming into your life—desiring you completely, endlessly, ravenously. That’s Kip, and he does it SO WELL. Honor and Kip’s steamy and wickedly unconventional encounters redefine fire. Their sex is intense, dirty and so very delicious! And while I wished for more Clara and glimpses of Gio, they’re still young—too young for the primal ecstasy and forever love they deserve. So, while they mature a bit, I’ll delight in reading the next book in the series, BETTER WHEN IT HURTS, Lola and Blue’s story. Then, when Clara and Gio are finally ready for their epic reunion, I’ll be all over that one-click! I can hardly wait! Bottom Line: You’ll love this unputdownable romance! Just make sure to read the *FREE* prequel, TOUGH LOVE, first! It adds dimension and motivation to the rest of the series!

This was edgy, dark, sexy, and extremely captivating. Skye Warren sucked me in from the first page and I read it in one sitting. The characters were very mesmerizing. Honor or "Honey" was so broken but still managed to have this inner strength and fight in her. She's running from her past and trying to protect her sister. Even at the cost of losing herself completely. I like that she was still very sassy even being put into this dark and rough circumstance. I was so intrigued by Kip. Right along with Honey I was enthralled by him and had to know more. He was such a mystery and would give just enough away about himself that you had to keep going for more. The relationship between them had this very slow burn and erotic push and pull. Honey didn't want to feel for him but she couldn't help it. He just drew her in. This was suspenseful, full of hit, and just a little bit twisted. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Loved this book and was so happy to hear it was a stand alone.

This book starts off with Honor, a.k.a. "Honey", in a seedy strip club. She is the daughter of a mafia don. She ran away from her fiancée, Byron, who was to take over the business. Byron was not a nice guy and did not treat Honor with any dignity. She dealt with her treatment okay, but when Bryon wanted to force Honor's little sister to marry one of his smuck friends, that was the final straw. If you've ever read Skye Warren, you know she writes some pretty power and dark stories. This one starts out just as good as I as I've ever read. When I first opened this book, the first few paragraphs really hit me. I knew this was going to be a good one. I used to think there were things I'd never do. Never take my clothes off for money. Never sell my body. Never f**k a stranger just to survive. I'd never sink that low. I'd rather die. But it's hard to die, to lie down and let it happen. Not to fight. Not to reach for the surface for air when you're drowning. It's almost impossible. I'm proof of that. I'm a living example of how low a person would go, if they have to. If they're desperate enough. While at the strip club, one customer takes quite the interest into Honey. Kip pays for a "private dance", but as you can imagine, the private dances in this club were more than just dances. They offered a wide array of other "services". Kip gives off the vibe of a really bad guy, but never really does anything wrong to Honey. He always pays her for her services. Love the Way You Lie is a story full of intrigue as try to figure out who the good guys and who the bad guys are. There are bad guys and really bad guys. The story is hot. If you've read Skye Warren before, this story is fairly tame, but that doesn't make the story any less of a good story. There are some great secondary characters in this story (my weakness). There are two other strippers that we meet have a story that I hope will be told. The bouncer is another great character. He is one of the not so bad, bad guys. There is a prequel, Tough Love (free at time of this posting), about Honor's little sister, Clara. I hope that she gets her full story told. This story can be read before reading the prequel (I did). I actually liked reading the prequel after this book. I already knew the entire story, which I enjoyed with the prequel being short and sweet. **Book was provided to me by the author. This review is my opinion and was not requested or provoked in anyway by the author.

This book is filled with all the things that make me love Skye Warren's stories. Beautiful writing that paints a vivid picture in my mind, characters who refuse to give up hope even when they're broken, sexy scenes with just the right amount of squirm factor, and a hit of dark, twisting suspense. I loved Kip from the get-go. Honey too. The secondary characters were intriguing, especially Blue. I hope he's next on Ms. Warren's "to write" list. Loved it. Can't wait for the next book.
