Book Two of the Epic Fantasy Romance series, The King’s Riders! Leargan Tegran, Captain of Greenwald’s personal guard, is an honorable knight. When his king commands him to wed Senior King’s Rider Ansley Fraser, he intends to follow orders; even as he knows nothing of the girl. Not to mention her blasted wolf bondmate, Ali, who barely lets him near her. Ansley has been in love with Leargan for turns, but marrying him out of duty doesn’t sit well with her. She’ll fight the match tooth and nail—no matter how much she craves to be in his arms and in his bed. The sudden appearance of Avril, a mysterious girl on the run, creates suspicions of powerful magic and evil lurking on the horizon. Dangers lead to a fight Leargan’s not prepared for. With the Province threatened, will duty interfere with Leargan’s orders or entwine him and Ansley regardless of their desires?

I actually liked this book way better than book 1. It wasnt slow and it kept my attention pretty much throughout. Sometimes it took a few seconds to figure out which POV was speaking. Or what couple was being discussed. I mean it was fairly easy to figure out but the switching to back and forth was tedious in a way. I think the author could have easily created each couples story but perhaps not. Maybe she didnt want to over complicate things or she didnt have enough to tell about a certain couple. I dont know. I also found Ansley to be stronger in the beginning. She sorta got weaker and whiny as the book went on. I think what really got my goat was if she actually took a second to look at everything that happened she would have come to her senses earlier. Thats ok because it did work out...eventually. I also have to say I liked Cera much better in this book. Usually happens that way sometimes when a character annoys you haha. Enjoyable book.
A beautiful romance full of love and magic. I enjoyed the story but it mirrored the first one too much for me I would’ve liked it better if it was more unpredictable and had some more excitement or something. It was just okay for me.
C.A. Szarek built a wonderful world in her first novel, Sword's Call, and continues to introduce us to an array of character's in Love's Call. This is a beautiful story of two vastly different couples who grapple with trust, desire and, as the title suggests, ultimately love. A fun must-read!
