"Readers weary of Scottish romance cliches will be thrilled to see these cheeky commoners..."–Publishers Weekly, Starred Review

From USA Today bestselling author Glynnis Campbell...A sword-wielding Scottish war-orphan-turned-spy for Queen Mary has her eye on a suspicious Highlander until they're drawn together by desire and a secret that binds their star-crossed souls.

A woman with a legacy...a man with a secret. She seeks to avenge her brave mother's murder. He seeks to reconcile himself to his father's death.

Josselin Ancrum, a sword-wielding Scottish war-orphan-turned-spy for Queen Mary, has her eye on Drew MacAdam. She suspects the golfing "Highlander" isn't quite who he claims to be. While she serves up secret messages in the guise of a tavern wench, he seems to be courting the enemy English when he isn't beating the Scots at their own game. Drawn together by fate, Drew and Jossy are swept up in their growing desires and the designs of their warring queens, until they uncover the terrible secret that binds their star-crossed souls.

Raised by 3 men after her mother is slaughtered at the hands of the English, Scottish maid Josselin Ancrum may be a tavern serving maid, but she can also wield a blade. Drew MacAdam's uncles raised him to be a master swordsman in the hopes that he would spill Scottish blood in retalliation for lives lost in the same battle that took the life of Josie's mother; however, Drew's heart leads him to exact vengeance through wielding a golf club instead. Living in disguise as a Highlander, MacAdam golfs his way through Scotland taking Scottish gold instead of Scottish lives. But when he encounters Josie, his world is turned upside down and his thoughts are turned from golf to her. A chance encounter leads Josie into the spy business, acting as a go-between for secret encrypted messages. MacAdam isn't sure what exacty Josie is involved in, but he knows for certain that she is in over her head and he can't turn away. Will Drew and Josie give in to the passion that threatens to ignite every time they are near to one another? Will Drew be able to protect Josie from the dangerous game she is playing? What will happen when the truth about their true identities is revealed to one another? Will the enmity between Enland and Scotland in the past tear apart Josie and Drew's future? There is more than enough passion, intrigue and action to keep you on the edge of your seat in this novel. Once I got past the first 2 chapters, I couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. Very exciting, and very, very steamy!!!
