Mahalia and the Terrible Typhoon

Mahalia could barely make out the weathered wood sides of the small shack. It rested on sturdy stilts that moaned and swayed in the storm. They trudged forward and were nearly to the front steps when something brown and orange smacked into Mahalia’s legs. “Ouch!” she yelled. The object squawked and flapped its wings.
