Mamo and Papo

This book is a brief account of a Creole family´s survival in the segregated South. It shows how the Catholic church had a strong influence in the community that was trying to maintain its own identity and culture. The three French speaking cultures that were emphasized in Louisiana are French, Cajun and Creole each with its own cultural characteristics which includes food, languages and songs.
