Robert Marich is a business journalist and analyst with twenty-five years of experience covering film and media. He has held senior editorial jobs at media researcher Kagan Research, Variety Deal Memo film business newsletter, daily trade newspaper Hollywood Reporter, and a number of other publications. His freelance articles have appeared in Variety, London-based Screen International, the business section of the Los Angeles Times, Emmy magazine, and Forbes. Marich also wrote the photo-driven book on romance movies More Than Just A Kiss.

Let me say upfront that I'm the author. This is the only book covering the major studios' marketing (others are focused only on independent film companies, which completely misses whole chapters I devote to audience research, merchandise and promotions/product placement). "Marketing to Moviegoers" has been translated into Chinese and Japanese languages (for use in those countries), and is required reading at film schools in courses geared for movie producers and management. It's in a handbook format for easy navigation, but not dry because it is enlivened with real-world examples, data tables and graphics.
