This was interesting, but unfortunately it spoiled the "Mary Poppins" books for me! I had always loved them, but the biography's insights into the author's motivations rather put me off.

The author seems to be one of those people who can't bear to leave out any fact along the way - including every personal detail about anyone Travers ever met in her life/while sparing no criticism on the Disney movie for being "sacharine" the author is very coy regarding Travers' bisexuality

While I learned how interesting the life of P. L. Travers was and the amount of influences she had, it really wasn't well written. It seemed to be just a list of all the minute facts that Valerie Lawson found shoved into a book. There isn't much of a flow or a story. I rarely end up skimming through a book, but this one I had to. I agree with the others, it was quite boring.
