Matter of Faith
The account of an apostles final hours and the choices he makes during them. This is the fourth story in a short stories collection titled "Epic".

Numerous stories are told of the events that transpired before the death of one of the Christ's twelve apostles.

This story asks the question of ‘How can we believe in God when we no longer feel Him?’. The apostles after Christ’s death are often viewed as unwavering men who faced the threat of death daily yet never backed down from their cause. They witnessed the miracles, listened to his teachings, saw him resurrected, received his spirit on Pentecost, and one of them even defied the laws of nature and walked on water with him. But I imagine they wrestled at times with their own doubts.
Why? Because just like us, like were human. Like their savior, they suffered immense suffering both mentally and physically. Just as we suffer today, their endurance can inspire our own. Just as we question and at times doubt, the reassurance they were given can also be made ours.

Look into the mind of Christ’s disciple - listen to his thoughts.
