Meet Me at Midnight (Blackwood Elements) by Elise Noble

Meet me at midnight… When Augusta Fordham receives that message from an unknown admirer, the plot could have come straight from her favourite romance novel. Oh, wait—it did.

Augusta is soon caught between wealthy doctor Gregory and a dark stranger who makes her pulse race as he indulges her fantasies. Will she choose comfort and security or take a leap into the unknown?

Meet Me at Midnight is a cut-down novella of my romantic thriller novel Carbon, with an alternative ending. The first eleven chapters are the same. This one’s for the romance fans—there’s no Emmy and no shooting in this version!

The Safe Choice or the Sexy Mystery Man?!? A Great Novella!!! A fun novella that has Augusta "Gus" torn between two men. Gregory is the perfect fit with her wealthy family and he is nice enough. Mr Midnight, her mystery man, gets her blood pumping and has her "dropping her knickers" as they act out steamy sex scenes from her sister's historical romance novels, but he has already told Gus that he's not the type of guy she should take home to meet her mother. With Gregory, the posh doctor who fits perfectly into her social standing, becoming more and more charming with every encounter, how is a girl to choose between the safe choice and the sexy choice?!? I loved the dynamic between Gus & Angie, fraternal twin sisters who couldn't be more different. The oppressive, overbearing nature of their parents is palpable. Gus' interest in Gregory and her lust for Mr Midnight is crazy fun! My favorite parts of Elise's books are her character development (her characters become my friends) and her setting descriptions (I feel like I'm in her books). NOTE: This is a Blackwood Novella, but none of the Blackwood Security characters are in this short version. Carbon is the alternate ending, full-length novel that includes Emmy & the Blackwood Security Team! Carbon is definitely worth reading if you liked Meet Me at Midnight and want a lot more action! The first eleven chapters in MM@M are the same as Carbon, but Gus picks the other guy!!! HEA (but with only one guy), NO violence, and NO cliffhanger. I know it's a novella, so it is written as a short story, but Elise's books are never long enough for me! I loved this romantic, quick & dirty book!!!
