Menopause Reset! is the revolutionary, scientifically-proven program that helps women control the physiological effects of perimenopause and menopause with mind, diet, and exercise solutions that keep blood sugar levels stable and bodies in the fat-burning zone all day long.

In the past, controversial hormonal replacement therapy was the only method by which women could positively affect menopausal symptoms. But Menopause Reset! changes all of that. The program specifically regulates blood glucose with food, exercise, and highly effective stress reduction techniques, allowing women to stop and reverse menopausal weight and fat gain. Based on the successful treatment of tens of thousands of women whose life-changing results are included in the book, Dr. Harpaz has put together an easy, 3-step solution that targets the triggers of menopause and its symptoms.

Menopause Reset! teaches women all about their metabolic mechanisms: what they are, how they work, and, most importantly, how to manipulate them to achieve sustainable weight loss and get their bodies back!

How Menopause Reset! Came to Be

When I was studying for my doctorates in applied physiology and nutrition from Columbia and Belford universities, I became very interested in how certain factors affect human weight gain and loss.

I studied nearly every diet that had been popular over the previous 30 years, and I was curious about why some diets worked for some people, but not as well for others. And about why the same diet may produce better results in a woman than in a man, and vice versa.

As I began collecting data from my dietary research, I became interested in the weight gain and weight loss problems of menopause-age women that I was hearing about and observing firsthand. I wanted to know why the diets that worked for younger women were not working with equal success (or at all) for menopausal women.

And, I noticed, there weren't any effective diet books (based on peer- reviewed science) that specifically focused on the menopausal woman.

In the late 1980s, I began shifting my practice and its focus to helping women—specifically, menopausal women—diminish the severity of the unwanted side effects of menopause. The goal was to help them achieve sustainable weight and fat loss and improve their overall health. In other words, to give them their bodies back.

The first area I focused on was diet.

I experimented with every kind of popular diet that was available, and the results were less than spectacular. So I created my own. And for my menopausal patients, the results were (and continue to be) stunning.

Then I took on exercise.

I looked at the decades-old traditional methods of training (and hundreds of workouts that ranged from using weights to running to doing cardio and other modalities) and began applying them in numerous variations in the lives of my menopausal patients. Years of observation and empirical research helped me create and fine-tune the ideal exercise regimen that the menopausal woman's body needs and will respond best to.

And finally, there was the mental aspect.

One of the big mistakes I felt so many diet and exercise books made was either neglecting or totally disregarding the importance of the brain and how it affects how we think and feel. We are a brain with a body and not the other way around. And the unchangeable truth is, where the mind goes, the body follows.

And I discovered something even more astounding: The mind greatly affects menopausal weight and fat gain and loss. The connection is huge.

Once I knew all of this, identifying my goal was simple: Bring the mind, the diet, and the exercise regimen together so they would work in perfect harmony in the menopausal woman's body and create something I call the reset.

Reset thinking. Reset diet. Reset movement.

To start the reset and keep it going, there are three steps: the mental reset, the diet reset, and the physical reset. By themselves, none has the power to push a menopausal woman's reset button. But if you use all three at the same time (as you will with Menopause Reset!), you'll press the reset button—and keep it pressed for a lifetime of great results.

You are about to learn what's taken me more than 20 years and 10,000 patients to create, fine-tune, and perfect.

For years, millions of menopausal women have been ready for this program, and since you're reading this book, I know that you are, too.

It is time for Menopause Reset! to help you.

My goal in writing this book is to give you the knowledge and power to make great lifestyle choices and changes that will positively affect your health, conditioning, and general well-being.

As an exercise physiologist and nutritionist, I'm a specialist in helping people change their lifestyles so the bodies they have are the bodies they want.

Bodies that are healthy, strong, vibrant, and energetic.

Bodies that they can spend the rest of their lives enjoying.

We will improve your health and well-being by enhancing your body's ability to metabolize food, strengthening its immune system, and increasing your energy level—all at the same time.

And here's some good news: You will do all of it—and lose weight—without feeling deprived or hungry. Armed with the information you are about to learn and the motivation to follow the plan, as my thousands of patients will attest, you will never fall into the trap of dieting again!

So let's talk about the word diet.

I want you to think of the word diet as a reference to a way of life. That's all.

Diet in this book refers to the way you eat as part of your lifestyle. It is behavior patterns. It is eating the right foods in the proper amounts and at the correct times of the day. In this book, diet does not refer to a restricted caloric intake program that you employ to lose weight.

By following the Menopause Reset! principles, you will:

Build and maintain a vital metabolism

Increase your daily activity and exercise levels

Learn the core proper eating habits

Integrate the latest nutritional facts into a commonsense eating approach that will increase your energy and improve your overall health

Regulate your blood glucose and insulin levels to burn fat

Not a day passes without a new finding about food and its effect on us being publicized. We are bombarded with so much news about food, exercise, and health. So why is it, despite all of this information that's instantly available to us, so many of us keep getting fatter every day?

A big reason: Conventional diets do not work!

This is especially true for menopausal women. The menopausal body is an intricate physiological machine with a different set of rules and regulations.

By the time you finish this book, you will have a good working understanding of nutrition and physiology, and this powerful knowledge will give you all of the tools you need to take control of your body and avoid falling victim to the diet trap again.

If you look in the dictionary, you'll find that the primary definition of diet refers to the sort of food a person typically eats. A secondary definition narrows that to the foods a person is limited to eating for medical reasons. Note that there's no mention of calorie or nutrient restriction or deprivation, or of hunger.

So from this point on, let's think of the word diet as simply your way of eating, with good eating habits, the foods that supply you with the proper nutrition. That's all.

You may be asking, "Is it really possible to learn the right kind of diet habits that will last me a lifetime?"

I'll let Tina, one of my clients, give you the answer.

I joined your program and within 8 weeks had not only made major impacts in weight and general conditioning, but also experienced direct health benefits with respect to a lung condition and an operation-affected muscle area.

By learning about food and its roles in my life from the nutritional and physiological standpoints, I was able to change and realign my old eating habits. More importantly, I could easily make this adjustment, and with a positive attitude.

Along with the positive diet changes you'll enjoy making, the exercise changes will be seamless and fit into your life like a glove.

And it all begins with your mind and perceptions.

When Paula, a former county attorney, came into my office, she knew exactly what she wanted.

I want my energy level back. I only need to lose 15 £ds, but more importantly, I'd like to tone my muscles and lose my fat. I need to reduce my borderline high blood pressure, and I believe that as I reach these goals, my resting blood pressure will return to normal. However, I have one condition that I insist upon: No one, but no one, will take my evening dry martini away from me.

Let me tell you, Paula kept her evening dry martini, closed an old chapter in her lifestyle, reached her goals, got her body and energy back, and never dieted again.

Janet came to my office 35 £ds overweight and suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. This debilitating condition had forced her to quit her job and drained her of energy and hope. That day, Janet began a life- changing transition to new eating and exercise habits based on the Menopause Reset! regimen outlined in this book. She has never turned back.

I met Roberta, the dean of a graduate school, at the health club where she worked out. Ready to make some changes in her life after the New Year's holiday, she came to my office and related a medical history that included stress from a high-pressure job, menopause overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and very poor eating habits. Overwhelmed by her situation, Roberta knew she had to augment her doctorate-level education with some straight, hard facts on nutrition.

I want my body and energy back. I cannot afford to continue like this. I need to lose weight and I must eat better, not to mention reduce my blood pressure.

The stress and the pressure at work do not help. I need a good exercise program to relieve those.

Since that day, my well-educated dean has earned high marks in successfully implementing the Menopause Reset! program, and she's never looked back.

Since 1987, I have treated more than 10,000 clients like Tina, Paula, Janet, and Roberta. Each came to me desperately needing to lose her menopausal weight gain, stop the yo-yo dieting syndrome, or improve a wide variety of health conditions. And each graduated from my program with priceless degrees in proper nutrition and exercise.

You, my friend, will do the same.
