My 8 year old loves the Mercy Watson series. He first found it in his school library. Ever since that first encounter he has been enchanted by this pig, it's colorful drawings and the wonderful crazy characters. Some of the words are difficult but the chapters are short enough that a new reader can feel very successful after completing them. Mercy Watson will always be part of our home library.

Yet another get Mercy Watson story. Everyone who has been introduced into the series ends up at a drive-in movie "When Pigs Fly." Mercy yet again, lets her stomach do the exploring as she can't seem to find the source of the butter smell. Sorry to see the end of a cute pig adventure.

Genre: FantasyReview: The author stays true to the genre of fantasy by creating a story that could not take place in our world. There is no such thing as talking, buttered-toasted bread eating pigs. Point of View: The story is told from the omniscient 3rd person point of view. We see and hear everything that people are doing and feeling, but never from someone saying "I".Media: Gouache

It was advanced for my 5 year old daughter who will be starting Kindergarten this year. However, I will try to read it to her again when she gets older.

Another humorous adventure of Mercy Watson! Though we never know what type of movie it really was, readers are still treated to a wild night at the drive-in with the mischevious pig. Time for Ms. DiCamillo to add some more books to the Mercy series. Our only disappointment when we got to this one (book #6) was that it was the last so far.....please write more!

Another great Mercy book. The "wonky" was a little strange, but Mercy is always entertaining.

I can't believe no one else has rated the best book I ever read! Mercy the Pig is hilarious. She ate a flower and kept on eating it. I want to try one now! Without Eugenia, the next door neighbor, and baby it wouldn't be the same. They are so silly. This book makes me even more silly. If you like to be silly, read this book!
