This is a short Novella and it's a fantastic one from one of my fav writers . This is book one of a regency story . Ms Robinson was from a Lords Family ( part of the Ton ). She always wanted to be a signer . She took a chance when she was talking to a Marquess at the time (who later in the story is a Duke ) . Her father the Earl gave her a choice either do this and this will happen . She took to the stage and fell in love with a man who wrote her notes. She didn't know who he was , only that he spoke to her soul from the letters he penned her . Later when she was married she found out her husband was not the one that wrote those letters to her . Her husband was a fraud . During a ball for Xmas she confronts him and tells him it's over . During Mrs Robinsons argument with her husband her passes (he crocks. I'm using this word because the author and I have an understanding for years . She retreats from the stage . She also moves to a lower staging house . Funds are drying up . She meets The Duke during her time shopping (the one that was the marquess in the past . He tells her how her father the Earl would like to see her again during the holidays . The young Duke has been in love with Mrs Robinson for years now . He didn't know how to approach her . He only knew of one Way to speak to her . Grab it and find out How . And does it work out for them . The Duke has a secret to tell her

Lady Jane left her life behind to follow her dreams and after years away she has finally returned home. Although life is not the same as it was before she left one thing remains the same, her heart is still broken and her best friend Martin Nicholas Pierce, the Sixth Duke of Somerset, can still bring her joy. Unfortunately, Martin Nicholas Pierce, the Sixth Duke of Somerset, is tired of being placed in the friend zone. He has tried to secretly tell her exactly how he felt and it has ended horribly for him and everyone involved. Martin knows that he has to go hard or go home when it comes to winning Jane's heart. Can he make Jane accept the best Christmas gift he has to offer...his heart? Read and find out! I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review I want to start by saying that Delilah Marvelle did a great job not only with this book but with this series! Jane's heart has been broken, she has been tricked by someone she thought she could trust and now she is broke, alone and down on her luck. Luckily for her Martin refuses to give up not only on her but on their chance of having one of the greatest loves of all time. Overall this is a great book for a great price. It is a short and surprisingly very sweet romance that will have you wishing for your own true love to come knocking on your door! Great job Marvelle you always find a way to touch my heart.

Originally published in the All I Want for Christmas is Duke anthology. Lady Jane left the ton behind to enjoy life on the stage. Receiving letters from Mr. X, she thinks she has found her soulmate. When Mr X reveals himself, they are soon married. But weeks into the marriage, Jane finds out the truth... the man she married is not her Mr. X. Tragedy strikes that same night when Jane is made a widow. After her disastrous marriage, she find herself living a simple life away from the public. Martin Nicholas Pierce, the Duke of Somerset, has been in love with Jane for years. He is the true Mr. X. When they have a chance encounter, Martin decides to do whatever he must to win Jane's heart. What will Jane do when she learns the true identity of her Mr. X? This was an enjoyable, quick read. The attraction between Jane and Martin practically jumped off the page. The story line was a nice change in pace. Martin falls in love with Jane when he was just 17. Much too young for a woman of 22. But when they meet again , the age difference doesn't matter. It also gave Martin the time that he needed to grow into the man that he was out from under his father's thumb. A must read on a cold, winter night!

This novella was originally published in the "All I Want for Christmas is a Duke" anthology. I love that it is being re-released as a stand-alone. Jane Robinson wanted to be an opera singer, but as the daughter of the Earl of Chadwick that was an unrealistic dream. She befriended the quiet Martin Pierce, heir to the Duke of Somerset who encouraged her to reach for her dreams. When Jane left, her father disowned her. Jane became the toast of London. When her mystery admirer became public knowledge, Jane marries man that proves to her that he is her Mister X. However, her new husband isn't who he claims to be. Forward eight years. Jane is living in poverty and Martin is the Duke of Somerset. Martin has just discovered a great aunt that was disowned years ago and she lives in the same building as Jane. This is one of my favorite novellas. I love the chemistry between Jane and Martin and they were able to pick their friendship up where they left off. Normally, I am not a big fan of novellas because there isn't great character development. This novella had wonderful character development. I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

After her horrible marriage, Lady Jane leaves her family and status behind her, takes to the stage, is on the edge of poverty and giving up on love. But now a man from her past is back and even though he is 5 years younger than Jane he will teach her what it is to love. Great read! Loved the characters, plenty of drama and emotion. Loved it!

Well-born lady of the ton, Jane, the daughter of an earl, tosses all propriety aside for a life on the stage. In this time, she begins receiving enchanting correspondence from someone who signs the letters as Mister X. During a Twelfth Night affair Jane discovers her new husband lied to her, she wants out of the two week marriage. Tragedy strikes leaving Jane a widow and for years after, she withdraws from the spotlight to live a simple life, but always yearning for Mister X. Since he was but a lad, Martin Pierce has been in love with Lady Jane. But his youth and her ambitions separate the two friends until providence reunites the pair in friendship once again. When Martin discovers that Jane is a widow who lives in the same apartments as his recently found great aunt, he, at his aunt's urging, resolves to reacquaint himself with the lady of his heart. Now a the Sixth Duke of Somerset, Martin yearns for Jane as he never did before. Five years Jane's junior was a big difference when he was but seventeen, but now a full grown man with a mature understanding, Martin will do what he must to have her, even if admitting to being Mister X threatens to tear them apart. Can Martin convince Jane to let go of her tragic past? Will she allow him show her a passion she has never known? Delilah Marvelle is just one of those talented authors who makes every single book she writes memorable. MERRY CHRISTMAS MRS. ROBINSON is a timeless tale with hope and desire. Jane is a strong woman who resigns herself to simplicity after losing her hopes and dreams one fateful night, but when Martin sweeps back into her life, he awakens those hopes and dreams once more. Martin is perfection! Knowing what Jane has been through, his plans to woo her with promise of a future filled with love and passion make Martin a shining star in this beautiful story. A must read!

Lady Jane followed the advice of her best friend and left her family to become a singer on stage. But soon her life is in shambles. Her father disowned her, her secret admirer vanished, her husband lied to her, and her best friend left her. Now she's managing on her own. But an aunt with a matchmaking bent and a Christmas wish bring her back in touch with her best friend. And sometimes best friends can make your Christmas wishes come true. I really enjoyed this story. It was sweet, romantic, and had all the right elements for a regency novella. The characters were well developed for the length of the story, the plot was typical regency romance. The book cover cracked me up. It could have been a bit less dramatic. But overall, this was a fun story that I enjoyed reading. I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
