Like mother like daughter In this awesome story, you have Vampire and Crimson Operative Bhaltair who also has a bit of demon in him. Not always a good guy but ever since his sire fell for a Fae, all below him followed in step. We have Meena how’s the descendant of his Master Vampire. Meena may have supernatural parents but she’s all human as far as anyone can tell. But if she’s anything like her mother, she may come into some powers after she become sexual active. Once Meena turn 18, Bhaltair has had inappropriate thought about her. But he’s not going to risk having relations with her to find out if she’s more than human. But there is someone out there that is. A wolf shifter has been putting the moves on Meena and Bhaltair’s not happy. Beside it could be dangerous for Meena. Action packed and well written self-contained story.

Mandy Roth's awesome Immortal Ops series adds it's first book of the spinoff series "Crimson Ops" with Midnight Echoes. It is as the name implies about Vampires who operate within the IOPS working for the good guys. In this first book the main hero is Bhaltair, a strong alpha Vampire who was introduced in a previous IOPs book. Not always a good guy Bhaltair has changed and reformed once his sire mates to a Fae female and brings them all to the IOPS side. Bhaltair is a strong loyal hunky alpha Vamp originally from Scotland complete with sexy accent. He is second in command of this special group where the the Mater Vampire is his sires' father. Meena and her sister Rose are the granddaughters of The Master , daughters of the Master's son and way off limits to Bhaltair. Rose seems to have won the genetic lottery having inherited a good many vamp/fae powers yet still able to be out in daylight and enjoy food. Bhaltair has been training her to hone her fighting and defensive skills. Meena it appears is human, despite a Fae mom/Vampire father, although, there is a possibility that she will come into her powers should she have them, when she becomes sexually awakened. In the meanwhile she has developed into a highly intelligent although bookish scholar, her best friends being books, her favorite hangout the library. Always drawn to Bhaltair she finds herself watching the training sessions with her sister more and more. Bhaltair refuses to train Meena after she proved "too breakable" and sustained too many injuries when he had tried to work with her. Lately though Meena is surprised by the extra attention Bhaltair has been paying her and sudden physical "innocent" contact he's been giving, such as holding her hand. Bhaltair can no longer deny what he has know for a very long time, that somehow Meena is his fated one. Although danger is ever present in the IOPS world it takes on a whole new level for Bhaltair when Meena is suddenly the target. 5 stars Even though this story is a shorter novel it is full of exciting action, danger, suspense, and romance. Both Meena and Bhaltair are great very enjoyable characters as well. There are also several of the secondary we are introduced to and whom I'm hoping will have their own books coming up soon as we get more Crimson Op books.

This is part of the immortal ops series world do I had to read it. I love all the others in the series and this one was great too. Bhaltair is a vampire and a crimson operative. He walks the line between good and bad. He also gets everything he wants until he sees Meena. She is the human granddaughter of his master vampire. But when another man wants her and danger surround her all the rules ho out the windows. Thank goodness for grandma! This was super fun read. Bhaltair is in interesting character who has to much honor. Great action and drama. Ops fans this onew was fun. Voluntary reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

At last the Fang Gang has arrived and another sexy Scot has claimed my heart from Striker!! Meena is the pure human relation to the Vampire leader. Her sister somehow managed to be HUman with..extras but not quite vampire but she drew the short straw and training to defend herself can leave her literally broken! Bhaltair is her grandfathers right hand man and has been involved in her life since she was a baby. She would give anything to have him see her as anything but a frail and fragile human. Talk about reformed bad boy! Bhaltair is dark, dangerous and totally droolworthy )He is Scottish so I'm going to be biased!!) Meena had tried her best to stay away from the training room while her sister trained, cause she always felt when he looked at her it was if he looked too hard she just might break. But lately she had found herself drawn to the room, not because of Rose, it was her grandfather's second-in-command who was doing the training, Bhaltair. But he gets his boxers in a bunch when he finds out Meena has plans to date a wolf! Sure the guy may be a meek and mild professor but he is not the man for Meena. Bhaltair wants to be that man but he is terrified he'd hurt Meena, inadvertently or not. Then there is the small matter of his best friend, Meenas grandfather, and her father killing him once they found out what he did! Crimson Ops (Fang gang) series has started with a bang and I'm intrigued to know what happens next. Rose seems to be a bit of a Mean Girl and I'm not sure I like her yet so not sure how that's going to work out. Whitney, Meena's father's best friend, almost steals the show with his surfer boy looks but Bhaltair holds his own. I'm already trying to figure who gets who for a mate and my head is reeling! Great characters and now we finally get to see the Fang Gang in action!

Ms. Roth's books never disappoint, short or full-length. This may be a short one but it is filled with exciting characters, danger, evil bad guys, and plenty of steam.  Meena is human in a world of supernaturals. Her sister, her parents, grandparents, and the trainers including Bhaltair all make her feel inadequate. She knew there had had to be a way to change that. She planned to try. When Bhaltair started acting strangely, for an ancient Vampire, he held her hand, talked to her, and tried to make her feel better. He couldn't want her. Could he? Another wonderful story in the PSI world of Immortal Ops. There is danger, more than from her over-protective father and grandfather, another Ops guy with a penchant for antagonizing the leaders with his wise mouth. Not really wise, add a donkey to the end of that. This will have to handle my Immortal Ops World fix for now. Hopefully not for long. This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
