Overview

Big-city sophistication meets carnal hunger in this devilish contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.

James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man—it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?

Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes—and out of them—he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…

What’s Lizzy Banks going to do when she needs to find a perfect man in a hurry? Especially since those she knows just won’t make the cut; she re invents one which is where James Rowan comes into the picture. Lizzy offers James a ridiculous amount of money to allow himself to be turned into the “perfect” gentleman. There is some humour and certainly intense chemistry throughout Million Dollar Devi as the tension between Lizzy and James builds. Lizzy took me quite a while to relate to her, I just couldn’t connect to her. James on the other hand was totally swoon worthy, just a great guy who ticked the boxes for me. I loved how adventurous he was and that he was so loyal. I really can’t put my finger on it but although this book was good it is not my favourite from this author.

4.5 Stars for Million Dollar Devil the new series by Katy Evans. Elizabeth Banks is socialite but she is desperate to prove herself a worthy heiress to the Banks fortune, she may be the only child of Harold Banks but that doesn’t mean she gets special treatment when it comes to business so when she is given the job of finding the face for the launch of their new men’s line she knows she needs to find the perfect man. Enter Jimmy Roman a daredevil who posts all his stunts on YouTube, he may be rough and ready but he has the face she wants...... Lizzy makes it her mission to turn Jimmy into the face of Banks Ltd but in the process she turns him into the man every woman wants to be seen with and that also includes Lizzy Banks......... This is a fun entertaining read with characters who’s chemistry is electrifying, it has plenty of witty banter as well as some hot passionate moments. Great start to the new Million Dollar Series

The book was amazing! It explored not only a "wrong side of the tracks" relationship with a super rich woman trying to hold her own in an uber male dominated world and a sweet adorable man that is struggling to raise his baby brother after a terrible accident took the lives of his parents and younger sister. The premise was not new. The route that Katy Evans took to make the story interesting was. She made it so that James was a new man. He was a daredevil with his first thought being that of his brother, the second that of money and the third...women. Pretty women. But Lizzy wasn't just a pretty woman. She was a go-getter whose ultimate goal in life was making her father realize that she deserved the family company. Lizzy wasn't really up for being in a relationship and she definitely wasn't ready for James. He wasn't what she was expecting. Whether through the hard times he had gone through or because his mother had raised him right, James was courteous and kind and caring and nearly the perfect man for anyone. He was willing to put her first when the going got tough and the going GOT tough. Like so tough. Lizzy worked at her father's garment company and worked hard. She wanted to make sure her father caught up with the times and let her lead a project and eventually lead the company. James was going to be her accidental ticket to the top. She and James changed his mannerisms and his manner of speaking and his whole look. But the chemistry wasn't going away. Million Dollar Devil was a delightful read and a super sweet story. It wasn't merely about James and Lizzy and their cute little quips. It was about family and learning what is truly important. Which sounds really really cheesy written out but that's the truth of it. The book was really well written and exactly what I would expect from Katy Evans: A smart go-getting woman and a daredevil man and how they are absolutely perfect for each other, including the witty quips they exchange.

I have loved this author from the beginning. This one however just did nothing for me. I felt nothing for the characters, just could not connect at all with them or the story.

Love that Lizzy is a strong women except wanting her father's total approval. James is the man she meets and makes over for her company and she ends up falling in love with him. I recommend this book!

Katy Evans is one of my favorite authors for a reason and this book is everything I love in her books. Elizabeth (Lizzy) wants her father to see her as a future CEO for Banks, Ltd. She finds herself facing Jimmy Rowan, the Daredevil, but perfect guy for the face of the new campaign. This story reminded me of Pygmalion in a reverse way. I absolutely loved it. The untamed, risk taker, YouTube sensation Jimmy will find himself more than a million dollar deal and Lizzy will see that not everything that she thought she wanted is what she needs. A 5 star read. The audiobook I must say is amazing, the narrators did an outstanding job and I totally recommend it as well.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is a standalone rags-to-riches trope with the heroine finding the face of her new mens clothing line in a seedy bar one night. Well-written and well-paced, supremely hot with back and forth tension between these two that is palpable throughout the story. This story was fantastic. A refreshing twist on the millionaire trope with the rich one being the woman and the not-so-rich one being the male but never once did it emasculate him. A typically awesome Katy Evans book and a must-read, in my opinion. Enjoy!

(3.75- 4 stars) I was so glad to hear Ms. Evans was coming out with this new series. I appreciated the fresh story line: Lizzy always trying to please her father, must find the new face for their companies new clothing line. She stumbles across Jimmy, a daredevil/ brawler from the wrong side of the tracks. Through the ups and downs I loved the transformation from Jimmy to James. The epilogue was short and left me wanting more of these two. I hope we get to catch up with them throughout the series.

Elizabeth Banks, "Little Miss perfect" has seemed to have met her match on that one fateful day at a dive bar while feeling racked with desperation. Trying not to disappoint her father, while striving to become CEO of the family business. She makes a crazy business decision that could either make or break her career. James, Mister I will do anything for a dare. Although, built like a god. Does not fit her mold. He is unkempt, unwealthy, and not properly educated in all things high class. He accepts a lucrative business offer from Lizzie, but he does not make things easy. Not quick to fall in line. He tests Lizzie's patience in business, and in private. James, and Lizzie are total opposites when it comes to business and money, but there undeniable attraction for each other is very much the same. Lizzie needs a little bit of unkempt testosterone in her life to help her let her hair down, and James needs a little "Perfection" in his life to help him realize what he has been missing. They may be total opposites in life, but somehow they seem to fit together like a glove. Once again Katy Evans has created another page turning masterpiece. This author knows how to make you feel like you are a part of the stories she writes. I can't wait to read the next part of this installment.

Lizzy and James have their unique slow burn love story. We do not see a lot story when rich girl fells for poor single parent figure. That is exactly what happens in the book. Lizzy is full of daddy issues, James with baggage from the past but somehow they connect on deeper level and can see the best that lies underneath all hidden layers. Story was not perfect but nevertheless very enjoyable hot romantic and daring. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Million Dollar Devil is Cinderfella at its best! He's clearly not from the right side of the tracks and she's an heiress beyond his wildest dreams. They are both sexy but from different worlds. She's up in the clouds and he's literally fighting "in the sewers." Jimmy isn't the posh polished pricks of her past. He's rugged, good looking, and real. However her needs are sophisticated, regal, and fake. One makeover and a lot of tutelage and James Rowan is born. But at what cost? I loved the chemistry between James and Elizabeth. I love how they both become someone else. I especially love his latest dare. Every hopeful romantic out there will love Million Dollar Devil!

I enjoyed reading Million Dollar Devil. Elizabeth Banks is vying for CEO of her fathers company. She feels that he doesn’t trust her to run it because she isn’t a man. While looking for the new face of the company’s new suit line, she meets Jimmy. Jimmy is a rough around the edges daredevil who gets paid to do stunts on YouTube. He’s also been raising his much younger brother since their parents died. He’s a very good looking guy, she just needs to teach him how to be a gentlemen. Jimmy aka James and Elizabeth are attracted to each other, but have to learn to mix their life styles to have their relationship work. I think Elizabeth found out a lot about herself when she was spending time with James. She learns what is important in life, and it isn’t her fathers approval.

I really enjoyed Million Dollar Devil. I am obsessed with the sexual tension in this book!! Holy cow! James and Elizabeth together was like an explosion waiting to happen. I couldn't get enough of their banter and their blatant attraction for one another. Gah! So hot! James "Jimmy" Rowan was so deliciously sexy. Unpolished yet charismatic. He made me weak in knees. I absolutely loved his relationship with his brother. It took me a little bit longer to come around on Lizzy. I wish she had a stronger backbone when it came to her father. I did come to like her eventually. Especially after she started building her bond with Jimmy. I devoured this sexy and flirty read in one sitting. Million Dollar Devil is a prime example of why I keep coming back to Katy Evans's stories.

I'm a fan of Katy's books and have been looking forward to this read but it didn't consume me like I was hoping for. I did enjoy this book, James "Jimmy" was a cocky, sexy, flirty YouTube daredevil that caught the attention of Elizabeth the gorgeous, sweet, heiress looking for the next face of her father's company. These two were full of witty banter and explosive chemistry that you felt in every interaction, yet Lizzy tried to fight the connection at every turn until she couldn't. Plus you get the added bonus of Charlie, Jimmy's younger brother whom you can't help but fall for and the one person he protects at all costs! What happens when you fall for the one person you shouldn't? You'll have to read to find out!

James is absolutely mesmerizing. His energy and spirit are infectious and you are drawn to him from the first moment you meet him. He makes you want to be reckless and crazy and follow him along for whatever ride he wants to take you on. Lizzy is no lazy heroine either. She starts off quite, but once James gets a hold of her, she flies high and far and changes for the better. He is sexy, fun, fearless, and kind. He makes mistakes but when he makes makes it to where he wants to be, you love him more for it. I couldn't stop reading this book because I wanted more of James and Lizzy's story. It is so addicting and if you though Remy was amazing, James is just as good is not better.

3.75-Stars First, I love the cover. Absolutely love it - the black and white with the pop of red. It's a cover I would see while scrolling thru Amazon, that would pique my interest to check out the blurb. Okay, so we've all read a book with the Billionaire/Millionaire Hero, who meets the poor heroine and spark fly. I mean I could list at least ten books with that in seconds. Million Dollar Devil was the opposite of that popular storyline - which I liked! Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks is the daughter of CEO Harold Banks of Banks LTD. She's wealthy, beautiful and quick-witted. Her only downfall in my eyes is her need to please her father and prove herself. Which wouldn't usually be a bad thing but with this story, I felt like she was just so blinded and said a lot of cruel things in her pursuit to please. James "Jimmy" Rowan is a YouTube daredevil that will do almost any bet for cash. I liked his profession, it was new and something I haven't read before. I liked the relationship he had with his little brother and friend Luke, it made him more likeable for me. I felt that these characters lacked chemistry, I didn't connect with them as much as I hoped I would. Don't get me wrong it was a well-written book and one I don't regret reading, I just didn't feel the these-characters-belong-together pull. Overall I liked this story but I didn't love it. My interest level was kind of all over the place, the storyline would get interesting and then boring fast. It was very hot and cold.

One word hot. Two words panty melting. Either option works to describe Million Dollar Devil, whichever you choose you get a hot, panty melting read. Lizzy Banks struggles to meet her fathers expectations. They aren’t just made of money, when you think money, you think Banks. Lizzy’s father has traditional views on what a woman’s roll is as part of a wealthy family. Those views do not involve Lizzy taking over the company. When the opportunity is available to Lizzy to find the face of their new men’s suit range she jumps at the chance to prove her father wrong and show just how capable she is of leading the company into the future. Once small problem, none of the suitable men are willing to act as the face of Banks latest line. Looking set to fail sends Lizzy on the path to the wrong side of the tracks to James, Jimmy to his mates. A professional stuntman he will do any thing for some cash. Surely he can’t pass up Lizzy’s offer to be the new face of Banks suits. What could possibly go wrong with getting a guy from the wrong side and polishing him up? An incident with wax, and some hot steamy kisses could be on the way. Expert “You should’ve said what you were up to from the start.” The daredevil’s voice sounds oddly husky as he stretches his arm behind the seat, his gaze falling to my mouth as he cups my nape in his big finders. He pulls me a little closer. I panic and put on the brakes. “Oh, No..wait. Not that. I have a business proposition for you. Business. But let’s get you cleaned up first.” He looks at me in confusion, then glances back at my lips with ill-concealed hunger. I lick them. Once. Twice. “You don’t want this? You seem pretty into me.” He glances pointedly at my nipples, pushing against my shirt. “I...ah..” I try to cover my chest, and when I hear a slow chuckle, I glance back up. “Could you stop starting at my chest?”

This book had the potential to be an amazing read. It had plenty of fun, flirty, sexy banter and a hero I started to fall for pretty quickly. It also had some drama that drove the angst up, unfortunately, that drama came completely out of left field, opened the door for an unnecessary situation, and had this hero dropping in my estimation. Lizzy fights to be the daughter her father wants, and what he wants is perfection. In order to earn his acceptance, that is what she’s always given him. But in order to gain the CEO position of his company when he steps down, she has to prove herself and the perfect opportunity has presented itself. When her plans collapse she takes a step into a world she’s never been before and meets Jimmy. When the hot as sin woman in the bar propositions him, he’s all for it. She’s talking money but he’ll do her for free. The next morning, after leaving him high and dry, he learns what the real proposition is. There’s no denying he needs the money so he takes a step into her world and then things get really interesting. I initially loved Jimmy so much and my heart began to hurt for him pretty early on because I could sense exactly what was going to happen and how much his own heart was going to hurt. He might not have been high class, but he was honest and loyal and dedicated to his family. And when things took a turn and he had to make a difficult decision, it wasn’t his own needs he took into consideration, it was all about Lizzy. However, I struggled with liking Jimmy and the story as a situation that felt contrived popped up pretty much out of nowhere. I wanted this hero to be unaffected but, nope. And that was when Jimmy lost me. Was that really necessary?! While I liked Lizzy well enough in the beginning, there were so many times when I wanted to chuck her out the window. She said some harsh things to Jimmy that broke my heart and I felt the author lost an opportunity to take this story to a deeper level by not delving into this avenue through his eyes as well as allowing this heroine to evolve to become someone better. That never happened. She was the same at the end as she was at the start. I have to admit, I needed her to do some groveling, which is something I’ve never felt before with a heroine, because she was cruel, even if in her own thoughts. ”Lizzy Banks…” He leans closer to whisper in my ear. “Always craving perfection. You can’t help it, can you? You think once you achieve it, you will be loved by one and all, even your father. And it makes you frustrated, shocks you to the core because you also can’t help…wanting me…even when you know I’m far, far from perfect…still. Not quite perfect enough for the likes of you.” This did have some great banter that kept the pace moving along as well as some sizzling chemistry between these characters. I’m sure other reviewers will surely remark on this books likeness to Pygmalion/My Fair Lady, with a reversal in the male/female roles. I enjoyed that aspect of the story. Sometimes when I’ve read a book that has somewhat disappointed me, the epilogue can still save it a star by leaving me with all the happy ever after feels, and while this couple certainly have a HEA, the epilogue did nothing to sell me on this couple or their future. Was this a poorly written book? No, absolutely not. I’m sure there are plenty of readers who are going to enjoy this book and I truly hope if you do try this one, you’ll love it. Unfortunate

4 Stars Review by Lisa Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog There is something about this story that just pulls you in and does not let you go until the end. Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is fantastic. The Big City Heiress, and the dare devil trying to makes ends meet, come together to survive in this big world. At times I felt this story was dragging but it was more of me just wanting to know what comes next faster. The need to know was strong and consistent. Lizzy Banks is fighting to be the heir to her father's company. Daddy just doesn't hand out promotions or jobs to anyone. You have to work for it, the way he did. James earns his living by taking dares and being a YOUTUBE daredevil. When Lizzy crosses paths with James, she turns both their worlds upside down. Polishing James to be the next face of her father's company, lines can be blurred or even crossed off. He is not the man you bring home to your father. But when Lizzy is discovers a new side to herself, things can get a little complicated. As I mentioned above, this story is one of those slow burns that you just have to stick with until the end to appreciate the story as a whole.

The title is the perfect description of the sexy and devilish handsome James Rowan. He is now for me my TOP book boyfriend that Katy Evans has created. He is sexy, adventurous and full of surprises that make you understand why Elizabeth Banks picked him to be her muse. The angst and instant connection of these two characters had me well entertained that I could not this book down till I found out if the Million Dollar Devil would be everything Elizabeth wanted and more. Plenty of steamy and sexy times that will leave you squirming in your seat. Such a well put together story and all I could picture was James in those suits! Go get this Must Read book!

I loved Lizzy and James! Lizzy Banks wants to be perfect for her father, so she can be the CEO of Banks LTD. They are a men’s clothing line and she is tasked with coming up with their next “face”. She can find no one and ends up on a bar on the wrong side of the tracks where she meets YouTube sensation Jimmy Rowan, who will do anything for a dare. He is raising his little 14 year old brother alone. Lizzy dares him his biggest dare to date. Become James Rowan, cover model fro Banks LTD. He does. Can these two overcome their obstacles? Will Lizzy’s father accept her new creation? Can James be the “perfect” man? Get ready for a great ride! Katy Evans has created your new book boyfriend, James Rowan, million dollar devil that he is! 5 stars (less)

Million Dollar Devil is an amazing and satisfying read. It will have you swooning and falling in love from the very first pages. Jimmy has left his mark on me. He’s gorgeously sexy and devilishly flirty. There’s no way you can resist him. Heart flutters. Swoon!. He may just be my favorite book boyfriend ever ❤️❤️ and I am not sharing. He’s that good and he’s all mine! Lizzy, for me, was a harder sell. Although I understood her motivation and reasons, she was a little too harsh. Especially at the end. After everything they had been through, she should have seen beyond and cared less about the superficial. I believe she needed the makeover more than Jimmy ever would. The angst as well as the push and pull between Jimmy and Lizzy was unbearable. Literally. All I wanted was for them to get it on and work out all that angst. It seems like it took forever but when they did, it was explosive! It couldn’t be anything but! The story was intriguing while the characters were real and true to who they are. I received an ARC via NetGalley of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I seriously don't know how she does it time after time, but she did it again! Katy Evan's has written another angst filled winner! There is layer upon layer of angst filled tension culminating into a single explosion of epic proportions. I was pulled into this mysterious story page after page and couldn't put it down. One dirty talking daredevil and one uppity, but yet down to earth fashion mogul made for a page scorching couple, even when she kept denying it. Jimmy the hot devil in disguise was chosen by Lizzy to be their fashion labels next "IT" man and boy did he deliver. But there are secrets, lies, and expectations at stake for both James and Elizabeth that can bring both of their worlds crashing down. This is a definite must read with two characters that are chasing their dreams at almost all costs. Even though it seems their going different directions, their paths cross unexpectedly, but with life altering changes. Hot chemistry and an intriguing plot keep this a fast paced read worth the time.

This book is amazing. James aka Jimmy is a daredevil on a youtube channel. Lizzie aka Elizabeth is a rich woman and only wants the appreciation from her father. She meets him at a bar and she gets an idea for her big launch for her dads company. I would have loved to see him in a tuxedo. Thats when the big adventures takes place. This book just grabs you in and can't stop reading it. I had to know what happened in the end. Highly recommend it. I love these two. Another good read by Katy Evans.

Enjoyable, predictable, slow burn. I just loved rough around the edges James ‘Jimmy’ Rowan, I had no idea how Elizabeth Banks could show so much restraint around him, he was sex personified, both before and after she ‘tweaked’ him. When Lizzy decides to create a supermodel from scratch she had no idea how successful she would be. The question is, is it all going to blow up in her face? Wonderful writing (dual POV), sexy, yet vulnerable main characters, off the charts chemistry between Said characters. Just do ‘it’ already! Additional characters added to the mix are a rather annoying and uptight father, and a too cute for words little brother, along with a whole host of others I could ramble on about. All these things kept me hooked from the first chapter. Highly enjoyable, entertaining read. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
