Wonderful book for beginning readers. Perfect for those using a phonics approach. I remember my 18yo loving this book when he was small and I've just bought a new copy for my 7yo.The 7yo has now read this book and just loves it! He's been reading it at bedtime and thinks it is hilarious.
i can honestly say that i checked this book out more times from the library than any other book i've ever read. and now, fifteen years later, i'm majoring in literature! i tell you, it's because of this book. it's funny and touching, and it has a great message. don't pass it up!
