About the Author

Born and raised in Germany, Marianne Pyka was one of the few women to complete medical school in the early 1950's. She then immigrated to the United States with her family, welcoming the American way of life and learning to speak, read and write English fluently.

With the loveable characters, Mish and Tish, Marianne combined her passion for painting with an opportunity to stimulate creativity in children. Originally, she had developed the collection of these adorable brothers adventures simply as birthday and Christmas gifts for her ten grandchildren. As interest in the homemade books grew, the value of her message eventually resulted in Mish and Tish Publishing, LLC.

Marianne quickly became a multi-award winner with her first book, "Mish & Tish and Mama's Brush," and with others works already awaiting publication. Now residing in Colorado, she remains dedicated to encouraging children and their families in recognizing the value of love, imagination, and giving without having to rely on money or fancy gadgetry.
