Misha by Kathi S. Barton

"I'm Misha. Say it please. I want to hear you say my name." Her breathless reply had him ginning. "Not Mr. Lanning. Misha. Say it, Hannah. Say my name so I can kiss you properly."

"I don't know how. Know how to kiss at all." He brushed his mouth over hers, happy with her confession. "You should stop now."

He ran his tongue over her lips and watched as she ran her own over her lips, as if she were tasting him there. With a small groan, he took her lower lip into his mouth and suckled it until she put her hand on his arm. Her breathless "Don't" made him want more.

This is the first book in a new series called “Lanning’s Leap”. Misha is a were leopard. He his brothers own a Search and Find company. On their way home from a job, Carter (one of his brothers) saves Hannah from being attacked by an angry customer at an airport diner. Hannah gets fired, and when she goes home and tells her mother, she is beaten within an inch of her life. When Carter finds out, he drags Misha along to check out the crime scene. As soon as Misha sees her, he realizes that she is his mate. He has never wanted a mate after witnessing the relationship between his parents. He knows there is nothing else he can do, so he decides that he will care for her, but never give her his heart. But danger steps in, and fate has a way of changing even the toughest mind. Will they discover love? Will the danger be averted

Misha's Mate Misha wasn't looking for a mate but one scent of Hannah and he knows. Hannah was a young woman who had abusive life growing up at the hands of her mother. After witnessing what his parents went through Misha decides that if he has to have at mate he would as least take care of her but not love her. One taste of Hannah and he is hooked and trying to be the man that his mom knows he can be. Being around the Lanning family Hannah starts to become the sassy, feisty female that she was meant to be. This was a start to a new series and I am patiently waiting for the next book.

While not my favorite of the books I have read by Ms. Barton, I did still enjoy the storyline. Hannah is such a downtrodden character you just can't help but feel sorry for her. The fact that she has the mother from Hades makes you wonder how she really stayed sane and somewhat normal. Misha was a character I really wanted to like but had trouble doing so. His reaction to Hannah as a mate was not well done and he treated her no better then a thing. Hannah needed love, protection and security and Misha was brash, didn't want to give her any of the things she needed unless they were sexually related. His brother treated her better and they were not her mates. I thought he needed to work harder for his mate after he just up and decided he wanted her and was a little disappointed that Hannah just went with the flow. Given her past I understood she really did not like confrontation but she showed she had back bone later with the Lanning father showing up making demands. I really liked Hannah and the lanning brothers, I am still on the fence about Misha and hope to change my opinion of him as the series continues. I thought the story was easy to read, had a wide variety of characters ,situations and keeps your interest right up to the end. I was given an ARC for an honest review

Can these two heal each other in ways only a mate can? Hannah is used to abuse. She's been abused by her mother, used for what she give to her mother, and occasionally beaten by the mother's "boyfriends". But this last time has place Hannah in front of her mate and he has no intention of letting her mom hurt her anymore. But he also has no intention of letting her get close to his heart. Misha works alongside his brothers in their own Search & Rescue Company. He never wants to find his mate, especially after seeing his own mother and father's mating. But after an accident puts Misha in hospital, feelings start to develop and he realizes the biggest fight of his life will be getting his mate to fall in love with him. But these two have more obstacles to get over including both of their wayward parents and figuring out who is this woman that claims to be Hannah's mother?

Misha is another great read by Kathi S. Barton. Misha meets Hannah and knows she is his mate. "Say my name Hannah. I want to hear you say my name." You will fall in love with the characters and you will hate some of the characters. Would definitely recommend as a must read to everyone.

too exspensive for 126 pages, but it was a decent book. I would read others in the series.

She worked as a waitress at the airport cafe and she gets fired for something that was not her fault ..Anways one of Misha Brothers was there and told Misha about Hannah so they went to check on her only to find out she was going to hosptial because her mother and her boyfriend thought it would be great to use her a punching bag .. Hannah is Misha's Mate .. Great start to a brand news series
