Fighting for redemption . . .

I've lived most of my life in darkness, beneath the shadows of secrets and addictions. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt the only girl I'd ever loved—the one who brought me into the light. In my entire life I'd made one promise—a promise I'd intended to keep. I've broken that promise and now I have to live with the fallout. Dixie Lark hates me, and I have to tell her that I love her. I also have to tell her a truth that might destroy us forever.

Can she love me, even if she can't forgive me?

Learning to move on . . .

Gavin Garrison broke his promise to my brother and he broke my heart in the process.I may never love anyone the way I've loved him, but at least I won't spend my life wondering "what if." We had our one night and he walked away. I'm beginning to move on, but my brother's wedding and a battle of the bands are about to throw us together again.

Our band is getting a second chance, but I don't know if I can give him one. How do you hand your heart back to the person who set it on fire once already?

The story wraps up a little quickly, big changed in a short amount of time. But a nice ending to a series I really enjoyed.

Missing Dixie is everything I could have hoped for, and more, for the conclusion to Gavin & Dixie's heart wrenching, intense, and emotional love story...it's captivating, it's passionate, it's perfection. This book, this book, and Leaving Amarillo and Loving Dallas, these books are why I read. "She doesn't make music, or create it. She is music. It flows through her as she plays and it's an incredible sight to behold. There she is. My beautiful bluebird." Gavin and Dixie not only stole my heart in Leaving Amarillo, they owned it. And then they broke it. And I had to wait months for it to be put back together again. But oh was the wait worth it. Missing Dixie was worth every agonizing minute, day, week, month, that we had to go through to get this point... "I'm just letting you kow that once upon a time a devil fell in love with an angel, and now that devil is working on becoming a man worthy of an angel's love." There's so much I want to say about this book but I just don't know that I can even put my thoughts into words. Gavin is such a damaged and tortured and broken soul. He wants nothing more than to love Dixie, to be a man worthy of her. But he has so much baggage that he has to deal with and work through, his life has never been easy- it's been downright ugly at times, and he's afraid that he will never be the man she deserves. But Dixie just wants to love Gavin and to be loved by Gavin, damaged parts and all. "My heart belongs to his heart. And whether he thinks he deserves me or not, his soul is forever connected to mine." Missing Dixie made me laugh and cry, I was swooning and swearing, I was falling in love with Gavin and Dixie all over again. This book put me through a roller coaster of emotions, but there's not one thing I would change about it. Caisey Quinn knows how to write an amazing story that's full of angst and heart, one that will have you on pins and needles, not knowing where she's going to take you next. When I read Leaving Amarillo earlier this year I never expected the impact this series would end up having on me. I never expected the emotions it would evoke in me, the feelings it would pull from me, nor just how much I would become invested in these characters...I really am not ready to let them go. This series is really something special. On the way to a bright new future, on the path that was meant for us, the one that began the day I met Dallas and Dixie Lark on an old, dilapted front porch.

Wow, what an awesome conclusion to Gavin and Dixie's intense love story. Quinn did an outstanding job giving readers an amazingly beautiful ending to Gavin and Dixie's love story. Gavin and Dixie have definitely become one of my favorite book couples. Their love for each other touched my heart with so many wonderful, raw emotions. And what had my heart really emotional is the surprise character that Caisey Quinn brought into Gavin and Dixie's life and their romance. This person was a real eye opener for Dixie to finally understand the beautiful, tortured man that she loves and wants more than anything else in life. Also, an eye opener for Gavin, too. The other thing I enjoyed was Dixie’s growth. How she finally became her own strong, independent person, free from the people that have always dictated her life and feelings, even her mood. And that includes Dallas, her older brother. Not that Dallas was an awful brother, but because of their situation, Dallas easily took on the responsibility of protector in Dixie's life. But he became too overprotective of Dixie, and she felt like she didn't have any say in her life. So yes, I loved seeing Dixie finally stand on her own two feet. Gavin also did some growing of his own, but his was more of the healing kind and being able to let go of the one person who has been holding him down. I'm going to stop here, because like they say, less is more. And plus, I don't want to spoil Gavin and Dixie's story. But, I would like to say that I was totally blown away with the strong in depth heartfelt storyline of Gavin and Dixie's feeling for each other in this last book of Neon Dreams. Caisey Quinn never fails me with her talent as an awesome storyteller and the beautiful romance between her characters. I recommend Missing Dixie and the Neon Dreams series, which also includes Dallas' story (Loving Dallas book two) as a must read.

When I read Leaving Amarillo, I knew that Gav had some history. Glimpses of it were there for me to see and it was frustrating that he couldn't seem to choose the light instead of the darkness of his past. I wanted so much for his story to come out and their happy to happen. Then Loving Dallas came next. Frankly, I wasn't happy. I wanted Dixie and Gavin to get their story finished. But I can honestly say that after reading Missing Dixie, I get it. Time needed to happen. Dallas needed to work through some things and get his happy. But mostly, Dixie needed to meet Liam. Don't worry, he's not a love interest. He's a sweet little seven year old boy that is tangled in their story and helps them sort things out. I very much wanted to hug and slap Gavin in equal measures through most of this book. All I can say is that I love him and he frustrates me. Open your mouth Gavin and tell her the truth. That's what I wanted. But it's possible that Dixie wasn't quite ready to hear it until she did. And that was brilliance by the author even if it had me peeking ahead. This is, at times, a difficult and emotional story to read but it fits the series well. It's also clear how much these two love each other as they try to resist each other but sometime give in. It's broken, just like it's characters. But it lets the light shine through. (I'm paraphrasing the book which was quoting Hemingway.) I loved it. It's satisfying. It's messy. It's real. If you've read the first two, you want this one for sure. If you haven't read this series, you should. It's a great mix of band and life drama topped with a side of sexy.

I loved the first two books in this series and this book is even better. I wish the series went on from here.

MISSING DIXIE is the third installment in Caisey Quinn’s new adult, contemporary NEON DREAMS romance series focusing on the members of the country band Leaving Amarillo. MISSING DIXIE is the continuing story of fiddler Dixie Lark, and the band’s drummer Gavin Garrison. Dixie and Gavin’s storyline began in book one- Leaving Amarillo. MISSING DIXIE should not be read as a stand alone as there is too much backstory and history revealed in the previous two installments. Told from alternating first person points of view (Dixie and Gavin) MISSING DIXIE focuses on the rekindling of the relationship between Dixie and Gavin, but not before Gavin must face the demons from his past. At the end of LEAVING AMARILLO Gavin is about to head out on tour with Dixie’s brother Dallas but Gavin has second thoughts and finds himself trying to correct the sins from his past. MISSING DIXIE follows Gavin as he condemns himself to a life without the woman he loves in order to clean up and make amends for everything that went wrong. The reader is front and center as Gavin berates himself for the childhood that was out of his control, and the mother who is unable to get clean and sober. MISSING DIXIE is a storyline of second chances for Gavin and Dixie, as well as Gavin as he must tell Dixie everything that happened the year she went away. Gavin’s past is mired in drug addiction, sex, alcohol abuse, and a need to escape into the abyss leaving Gavin broken and feeling unworthy of love and success. Gavin fears rejection from the only woman he has ever loved. There is plenty of drama, tension, self-hatred, back and forth, and a definite lack of communication especially as it pertains to Gavin’s past and his current situation. Gavin’s failure to communicate leaves too much to misinterpretation and misunderstanding. The secrets Gavin’s keeps close to his heart are destroying everything he has with the woman he loves. There is some definite reader anxiety as it pertains to Gavin’s inability to tell Dixie the truth. Dixie is willing to forgive and forget; she is a woman who loves her man-unconditionally. MISSING DIXIE is an emotional and heartbreaking storyline about two people who have known one another for most of their lives. Gavin’s backstory is tragic; full of abuse, neglect, drug addiction and shame. Dixie and Dallas became Gavin’s family; his lifeline when everything began to spiral out of control but Gavin’s mistakes could find our hero losing all that he holds dear-a second chance with Dixie and the band finds Gavin at a crossroads when the past comes back with a vengeance. We will be introduced to a young boy-seven year old Liam-whose own life is eerily similar to the trauma of Gavin’s past but the resolution is technically flawed. Caisey Quinn writes a passionate story of family and friends; moving forward and letting go; forgiveness and falling in love. The premise is a roller coaster of emotions, anxiety and stress; the characters are colorful, impassioned and heartbreaking; the happily ever after fast forwards the storyline several months to several years.

"Sometimes that's all love is. Giving the other person what they need despite the price, despite the sacrifice or possibly painful outcome." Dixie Lark has been in love with Gavin since they were kids. Their love story started in Leaving Amarillo and concluded in Missing Dixie. Caisey Quinn has crafted the most heartbreakingly perfect ending to the series. In this book, more of Gavin's past is revealed as he tries to rid himself of the demons that continue to haunt him. Working at a bar as he tries to pull his life together, yet there seem to be nothing but obstacle after obstacle for him. Dixie is back at home giving music lessons to underprivileged kids and trying to make peace with the fact that the boy she's has loved for more than half her life, might not be worth saving. Together, they have to figure out if their love story will prevail or will it crash and burn once and for all. Dallas and Robyn make brief appearances as well, Dallas more-so as Leaving Amarillo prepares for Battle of the Bands in hopes of winning a record deal. Out of all the characters, I felt like we needed to see more of Liam. He stole my heart and I would like to see the series continue with him. Pick up a copy of this series, I guarantee you won't regret it.

Gritty, heart-wrenching, and intense, MISSING DIXIE broke my heart in the best way before piecing it all back together again. It was everything I hoped for for Dixie and Gavin and then some. I loved these characters from book one and I knew Gavin's story was going to gut me, hence the reason I was afraid to read this book. Afraid whatever Gavin had done would be unfixable, unforgivable, and not even a little bit redeeming. What I didn't expect, was the hope it would leave me with. Caisey Quinn has done an amazing job of showing the good, the bad and the ugly parts of addiction and the ripple effect it has on everyone, not just the addict. She balances light with darkness, so it's not too angsty and depressing, and not too perfect to be true. Best of all, she gives Dixie, Gavin, and Dallas the endings they deserve, and one that is sure to warm reader's hearts. It did mine. I ugly cried. Like Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead but with more tears and snot. It wasn't pretty, but it was totally worth it. Just like Gavin and Dixie.
