Many books are written to meet the trend or fad of the day. Mood Food is a book that will be useful for ages to come. It addresses the God given emotions that we have and how the pains and hurts drive them in a negative way. My favorite parts are when Dr. Hannah uses creative illustrations to help the simplest laymen understand the whole process.

Mood Food is filled with much wisdom, giving spiritual, scientific and practical guidance in understanding our complex emotions. The final paragraph expresses an ongoing theme throughout its pages: "I pray that you would see your emotions as a path to deeper intimacy with the triune God..."

So often I have been the victim of my emotions without understanding why and, more importantly, not knowing how to escape. This book provides solid, practical, and scripture based ways to deal with negative emotions. One of the messages that has stayed with me and helped me on numerous occasions is that I need to consciously invite Jesus in to the situation when I find myself in the throes of anger, fear, worry, etc. This simple but profound step has brought perspective and peace. Wish I had read it earlier in my life!
