"Charming, witty, and fun. There's no better read. I enjoyed every word!" — Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author on No Better Man

For Ruby James the Walker Mountain Ranch is her safe haven. Here in Aspen, Colorado, she can finally build a quiet life for herself without fear of her old one rearing its ugly head. Or so Ruby thinks. Any single woman would be happy to indulge a tall, dark, and curious cop-but the closer Ruby gets to him, the closer she gets to losing her newfound peace.

Police officer Sawyer Hawkins is no stranger to secrets. He's ready to leave town for good until a security threat brings him back to Walker Ranch, and Ruby's gorgeous green eyes soon have him second-guessing his decision to go. Her kindness and quiet strength awaken feelings he'd thought long buried, even as her reluctance to talk about her past worries him. The cop in Sawyer only wants the truth-but the man in him wants Ruby in his arms forever . . .

About the Author

Sara Richardson grew up chasing adventure in Colorado's rugged mountains. She's climbed to the top of a 14,000 foot peak at midnight, swum through Class IV rapids, completed her wilderness first-aid certification, and spent seven days at a time tromping through the wilderness with a thirty-pound backpack strapped to her shoulders.

Eventually Sara did the responsible thing and got an education in writing and journalism. After a brief stint in the corporate writing world, she stopped ignoring the voices in her head and started writing fiction. Now she uses her experience as a mountain adventure guide to write stories that incorporate adventure with romance. Still indulging her adventurous spirit, Sara lives and plays in Colorado with her saint of a husband and two young sons.

Loved this book! Love the storyline between the lead characters and the healing they both receive through their love for each other! And you've gotta love the cast of characters in the small town who all love and support each other! Each book in this series is a treasure to read! Sara Richardson is my favorite new author!!! Already read the sequel to this book that came out today, "Rocky Mountain Wedding!" So thankful Sara did not rush Ruby and Sawyer's story but treated us to a sequel before ending the series! Well done, Sara!!!

As soon as I started reading this one, I could not put it down. The author hooks you from the start. Well, she hooked me anyway. It 's a really addictive novel with well-developed and very realistic characters with which is easy to be in tune. It 's a funny story but with some sad and tormented moments. Ruby and Sawyer must constantly come to terms with their past. Ruby works at the Walker Mountain Ranch, here she finally has found a place she can call home and has found for the first time real friends. She also has a crush on Sawyer, the local policeman, but a man of law will be able to accept her secrets? Sawyer has had a very difficult time, the only way to forget his past is to leave Aspen and move to Denver. But he really likes Ruby. Is she the right woman to start to believe again in love? Ruby is a strong woman, but very hurt and tormented by her past. She never had a family and had never known true love even if she is sure that it exists. Sawyer is a loyal man, respect the law for him is crucial. His failed marriage had left deep marks on his heart. He will hardly be able to love someone again. But Ruby is so sweet, so innocent that maybe can give her an opportunity. It's the third book in the series but I did not need to read books one and two to have an understanding of the story. But I did enjoy this book and I look forward to reading the others in the series. This romance is an easy read, the writing is smooth, and the pages fly by effortlessly. The author does a great job in vividly describing the ranch, town and surrounding landscape, she makes you feel like you are actually there. I have no hesitation in recommending it highly. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Trying to escape her past brings Ruby face to face with her future. Ruby is a wonder. She has endured much in her life but her hope and her belief that there is something better in store for her is inspiring. She is one of those characters that has to grow on you though. Sawyer is a tough guy on the outside but a big ole softy inside. I have read many of the stories within Ms. Richardson's Heart of the Rockies series. More Than a Feeling is full of contradictions and twists but turned out to be a spellbinding read. The Heart of the Rockies series is full of stories of courage, hope and love. Each story is different and some more appealing than others but the emotion put into each one keeps me coming back.

Format: Galley Copy Ruby has had a rough life. She's across the country safe from her dangerous past with a new identity working for an amazing family. She tries not to let anyone too close until Sawyer slithered his way right in her heart. Sawyer is fresh out of a rough divorce. He's moving away to escape his ex and move on. The last thing he needs is to be tempted quite often by Ruby. The chemistry between Ruby and Sawyer is undeniable. They both have gentle hearts. As various obstacles keep popping up for them they figure out ways around them growing closer together and helping the other move past their past. If you enjoy a steamy romance with a second chance at true love I highly recommend More Than A Feeling.

This is the first book I've read by Sara Richardson but it won't be the last. I really enjoy this story. It's well-written with complex characters, a charming backdrop and a heartwarming story. I really wished I started this series at the beginning. I felt like I was missing something from all the interaction of the prior characters from the first two books. I will make sure to start her next series at the beginning. I really enjoyed Sawyer and his interaction with his family. He's such a sweet guy who really puts himself out for others in need. You'll love how even though he doesn't really trust Ruby, he can't help but protect her. Make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Now Ruby she's a different kettle of fish. You'll really like her but won't like how she's lying to Sawyer. Of course you know why, but still... When you find out all of what Rudy was and still dealing with you like Sawyer want to kick some butt! You'll be proud of how she finally stands up for herself but you'll also like how Sawyer is right there for her. My only issue with the story is that it felt a little dense, sometimes it was slow moving. As much as I wasn't happy about those parts I still really liked the story. I can handle a little wordiness as long as I have likable characters. Which you will find in More Than a Feeling. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series and what's coming up after that.

MORE THAN A FEELING is such a jubilant story of strength, courage and love that is sure to leave a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. Ruby James and Sawyer Hawkins are two people running away from their pasts. For Ruby, Walker Mountain Ranch has become her refuge from a life filled with fear and pain but an attractive police officer has given her reason to hope that she can find happiness again. For Sawyer, Aspen is the place where his dreams crashed and burned and every corner of the town is filled with painful memories. Leaving is the only way to get past his losses, but one gorgeous and secretive baker has him thinking about trying to live again. Two very bruised people thrown together by circumstances find something unexpected in each other but will they be brave enough to reach out and grab the second chance at happiness they've been given? This story is so heartwarming and the characters are very sweet and endearing. Ruby is the star of the show and her courage and strength leap off the pages of the book. She didn't have the best of life growing up but it didn't kill her spirit. Her heart is big and her capacity for love is endless. Sawyer is a flawed but compassionate man struggling to rise above the hard knocks of life. After wallowing so long in the memories of all he had lost and giving up on relationships, Ruby makes him want to try again. For their relationship to work both, Sawyer and Ruby will have to find the strength to share their secrets and face their demons. With very supportive family and friends and the breathtaking Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, Sawyer and Ruby's journey is one that will draw you in and have you rooting for their happiness. Ms. Richardson has done a great job with this series and each couple has a place in my heart. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. Ruby James has never known true love or what it feels like to be loved by someone wholeheartedly, and to be honest she's not even sure she'd be able to recognize it if it was right in front of her. But that doesn't stop her from believing that it does exists...just maybe not for her! After spending most of her young life in the foster care system and being passed from family to family and never finding that special family connection she has always longed for, she thinks she's has finally found it in the form of a group of special people that took her in and helped her out when she needed it the most. Working at the Walker Mountain Ranch has been a blessing in disguise for Ruby, for once in her life she has friends, is surrounded by a family oriented environment, has a steady job that she really enjoys, and a feeling of safety that she so desperately needs. She has even caught the eye of a handsome local police officer who seems like he could really be someone that she could have a promising future with...the problem is Ruby has secrets, secrets that constantly haunt her, and could potentially ruin the peaceful little life she has created for herself. Police officer Sawyer Hawkins is ready to leave Aspen behind and move to Denver for a fresh start, and hopefully find a way to leave the demons that have been constantly haunting him behind. After a heartbreaking loss, and a devastating divorce Sawyer's belief in love has pretty much dwindled away. He is certain that leaving Aspen will solve all of his problems, but his friends and family aren't ready to see him leave, and will do just about anything to keep him there. So, when they find out that he might just have a little crush on their newly hired pastry chef, they find creative little ways to push the two of them together. But Sawyer isn't so sure he's ready to go all in with someone again, and he senses that Ruby has a story to tell, one that's riddled with secrets...secrets she's not so willing to share. I have been anxiously awaiting for the opportunity to return to this series and get better acquainted with Mr. Sawyer Hawkins...and all I can say is that he was WELL worth the wait!! Before I even realized what was happening he swooped in and completely walked away with my heart, he was everything I hoped he would be, an SO much more! He totally won me over with his ever present alpha attitude, gentle heart, smooth one liners, and patient caring nature. This beautifully executed story captured my attention instantly, I immediately felt myself being pulled into Ruby and Sawyer's world and completely entranced by every written word. These two well crafted characters were definitely a match made in literary heaven, the chemistry they shared could be felt from their first encounter, and continued to burn intently until the very end. This is by far one of the best reads that I have had the pleasure of reading this year, and I highly recommend you give it a try! Ruby and Sawyer's story is certain to find a way into your heart, and linger there long after the last page is turned!! The emotional turmoil at the beginning of the story pulled me in, and the story continued to enchant me, until the very end. It was so easy to feel connected to the characters, to their struggles, burdens from the past, and triumphs of the present. All the characters, including the supportive cast, were well described, with deep characteristics, and attributes that were easy to admire. They were the kind of people you want to spend time with, the ranch sounding like a place for fun, enjoyable times. Sawyer and Ruby have amazing connections. The attraction is powerful, easy for even children to notice it. They are both in a crossroads in their lives, going in opposite directions, but there's just something that keeps pulling them together. I wept with Ruby, with the wounds and scars of her past. But she turned out to be a strong, powerful, loving woman. Sawyer is lovable, loyal, and law abiding. Honesty, truth, and rules are important for him, but he learns to be flexible. I loved the growth in both of them through the story. How they find their inner strength to face the demons of the past, and how they stand by each other, at the moment of need, when the cornerstone of their lives are being shifted. The character development was done in a superb, natural way through the tale. But the story is not all angst, agony and pain, there are many fun, sweet, adorable moments, often in the kitchen, or with the kids visiting the ranch. And the passionate moments between Ruby and Sawyer, when the heat takes over, and they can't keep their hands, or mouths, off each other. When you have a story with elements of deep personal growth, fun, and joy, mixed with life lessons, danger, and even some suspense, romance that is sure to swoon you, and passion that takes your breath away, you have a winner in your hands! ~ Five Spoons
