Jesse Hoyt wasn’t one of those people. He knew exactly how blessed he was, just as he knew his blessings came in the form of his family.
From his grandparents all the way down to his youngest brother, Christmas was their favorite time of year to spend together. Every Christmas evening had played out the same for as long as Jesse could remember. The house would be filled with the soft sound of Silent Night playing on their ancient record player, the sweet fragrances of cinnamon and apples which seemed to only enhance the aroma of their Christmas dinner cooking in the oven.
