Two phoenix shifter brothers find their mates in this slapstick paranormal romance set in Boston.

The Fierro brothers, Dante and Noah, live together, work together as firefighters, and share the same secret: They're both phoenix shifters. Now they're about to fall in love. Mallory Summers is going through some odd changes. She's talking to people who aren't really there, and her body keeps going furry. The only man concerned enough to help and kind enough to keep things quiet is Dante, a former schoolmate now all grown up. For Noah, he's found companionship with Keziah "Kizzy" Samuels, a compassionate doctor from Boston General. What he doesn't know about Kizzy is that she's a witch. All of these elements lead to a rather complicated courtship for the brothers, plus the changing of Dante and Noah's familial bond as they grow closer to their respective heroines. The plot is vastly overstuffed: Mallory is becoming a spider monkey shifter. Noah has found a magical book written in Latin. There are mysterious cults of men casting spells in the Amazon rainforest. It's a wild ride but not because of any exciting thrills. With so many competing details, predicting what will be thrown in next is nearly impossible. Focusing on a single couple would have done wonders for the breakneck pacing.

Shoving 10 pounds of plot into a five pound bag prevents either romance from shining, and connecting with the characters is impossible since we never spend significant time with any of them.
