He's won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?

I met the president's son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I'd never met a guy like him.

He promised me that he'd never run for president. I promised that if he did, I'd be by his side.

Two terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton's campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I've ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.

Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him and his popularity is surging. But soon, the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one-and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist.

We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart, but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Winning will take everything.
Walking away will be the hardest thing of all.

First and foremost, my main complaint of this book is that the timeline doesn’t make sense. The first chapter or so says they met when she was 11 and he was a teenager, but then a chapter later they say he’s running for president at 35 and she’s only 22. What? How does that even work? That means that he must have been 24 when they met, and if he’s 24 creeping on an 11 year old, that’s just skeevy and not great. I’m hoping this is just a continuity error on the author’s part, although that wouldn’t be great either for an author of her standing. My other main concern is that the writing seems too idealistic and dreamy, reminiscent of a 17-year old girl’s fan-fic instead of a best-selling book. It’s very repetitive, and for the first few chapters, nothing actually happens or advances in the story. In a good book, every character should have a motive that they’re working toward. Whenever I read a chapter or scene, I ask myself, “what is the purpose of this scene? Why does it need to be here to move the story forward?” And in this book, there were too many times that there wasn’t one, which makes me feel like half of the book was just filler so she could try and stretch a story into multiple books, forcing readers to buy more books to seek the resolution. I’m not a fan of the new trend where authors split complete stories into multiple books seemingly without reason, and this series isn’t any exception. This book was meh all around, and disappointing because I really wanted to like it. I will say that if you want a really great sexy series that is well-written about a presidential romance, read The New Camelot trilogy by Sierra Simone.

AudioBook Review Stars: Overall 5 Narration 5 Story 5 It can’t be easy being a politician’s kid – and when you reach the apex of the US system, being the president’s son (all current leadership aside) with a nose for politics and expectations to match must be daunting. So went the life of Matt Hamilton. Son of a president, he was humoring his father as he spoke of his dreams of a dynasty of leaders. Sharp, intelligent, charming and handsome: Matt was exactly the Prince Charming that young Charlotte fell in childhood love with. A preteen with a senator father, she and Matt hit it off, despite the age difference. She thought he was marvelous and vowed to stay by his side should he actually make a bit for the oval office. Fast forward several years, and Matt is out fundraising for an eventual Presidential race. Spotting Charlotte and knowing her own life had set her in the perfect position to help him with his campaign, he recognizes the spark between them, and uses that and her childhood promise to spend more time with her. For her part, Matt is JUST perfect, if only he wasn’t committed to running for president. But as much as she doesn’t want the President as a lover, she does want the man……. Such a wonderful complexity to this story: these two are well-matched in life experiences having grown up in the political spotlight, but where Matt seems to embrace all that comes with it, Charlotte is happiest to work in a non-profit and effect change that way. From the shouldering glances, her choice to help out with the campaign, and the taboo of it all, even as their own hormones pinged off the walls, their chemistry is amazing. And, the good and bad news is that there is no resolution. Yay to more of the chemistry, the shorthand that they’ve developed in their communication and the steam that rises – but there is more to come…. Narration for this story is provided by Isabelle Gordon and John Lane, and the interactions, dialogue and emotional connection was clearly present as they gave us the gung-ho move forward and slightly calculated Matt juxtaposed against Charlotte’s hesitations and questions –which added to the tension that sparked between them, and made the sweeter connected moments even more pronounced. Clear definition of emotions, secondary character interactions and above all a presentation for each character that helped to solidify the author’s words and work, the story flew by and kept me engaged and intrigued. I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Tantor Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Politics and romance and bantering dialogue with two strong characters and a clever story...makes for a very good read!

Extremely disappointed. More like a harlequin romance book. Hopefully shd will not writd another. No plot, no story. Too bad i could not count the word repetition. I am sure it was significant. Each chapter said the same scenes set in a different place. Ugh.

I loved this book. The story is different and engaging. The characters are full and rich. It was a good read. Definitely recommend. And just so you know, there is to be another book after this one continuing the story. Cliffhanger? More like the end of the first part of the characters story. It wouldn't make sense for this to continue as one very long book. Looking forward to see how this story continues.

Katy Evans does it again! Inspired by JFK Jr. she tells the story of Matt Hamilton. Son of the adored Lawrence Hamilton, ex-president. The story is so uplifting. Although the setting is political it is not full of negative slander about one party or another. Of course there is some referencing but only enough to set the pace. Matthew Hamilton, son of a president, grew up in the White House, Harvard graduate, lawyer, successful businessman. Young, fresh, charming, confident, intelligent, sexy alpha male. Charlotte Wells, daughter of a Senator, college graduate. Passionate about life and helping others. ‘Red hair like a flame falling from her shoulders. And that spark in her eyes. She’s energetic, unapologetic, exquisite. Despite being raised as a senator’s daughter, she’s so far been untouched by political scandal – untouched by the sometimes seedy dealings politics are paired with.’ Charlotte meets Matt at the age of eleven when he and his family come to her house for dinner. Imagine the President at your house for dinner! An impression was made and a childhood crush is formed and carried into adulthood. The announcement is made…. Matthew Hamilton will run for president, the youngest contender in history. He wants to continue his father’s legacy. He wants Charlotte with him on the campaign, making good on a promise she made when she was eleven years old - to help him campaign should he ever run. And so the story begins….. A year of campaigning. Their friendship grows and so does their attraction to one another. Long hours, close quarters, stolen moments. I was swept up in the romance, the heat, the chemistry, and the passion. If Matt wins the presidency he loses Charlotte. Although he tries, he can’t have both. There is a cliff, but one I happily jumped off of. I want more. I want the Cinderella ending!

4.5 stars! Wow, who knew reading about the political arena and the presidential election could be so sexy and fascinating!! I would swear that Katy Evans has been a part of mainstream politics to have written a story so complex and detailed on the inner workings of a political campaign and one man's race for the White House. Matt Hamilton is America's golden boy. His father had been president and was well loved and respected until his life was cut short in an unsolved shooting. Now he plans to fulfill his father's wishes of Matt following him into the White House. Charlotte Wells has spent her life on the outskirts of the political arena with her father being a Senator. She had no aspirations for a career in politics until Matt Hamilton decides to run for President and he wants her on his campaign team. This could be her chance to find that one thing in her life that she'll look back on later as the one thing that truly made a difference. Working for Matt could pose a challenge though, as she's had a crush on him ever since she was eleven years old and he and his father, the President, came to dinner at her house. Now is her chance to get over her silly child's crush and prove that she can accomplish great things as part of his team. Katy weaves a masterful tale of a young woman navigating the grueling world of politics all while trying to stem her constant attraction to Matt Hamilton. And Matt battles to figure out how to have Charlotte in his life, knowing that ultimately he will choose the Presidency over any woman. He saw how he and his mother took a backseat to his father's career and he would never wish that on any woman, especially not someone he cares as deeply for as he does Charlotte. But these two can't stay away from each other, the flame they carry for each other burns way too brightly to be ignored or extinguished. What is ultimately going to be the most important thing? Their feelings for each other, or Matt's chance to make a huge difference in the world? To Charlotte, the decision is clear as day, even though it will be the most selfless and painful decision she'll ever make in her life. If he is elected President, what decision will Matt make? We won't find out until Commander In Chief releases in January. I was deeply impressed with Katy's clean style of writing. Her unique way of laying out for the reader the thoughts and emotions of both Charlotte and Matt had me glued to the story, immersing me right into their every feeling. The story flows so smoothly that before I knew it I was turning the page and that was it! I was so bummed!! I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next. What decisions are these two intriguing people going to make? How will they make their relationship work if Matt Hamilton becomes the next President? Or will they both make sacrifices for the good of the country? I need to know!!

It was a great read! I cannot wait to read the sequel. This is my first read by Katy & I yearn to read more, so unexpected. I also like that it was a full length book.

I really enjoyed Mr. President. I haven't really read any books with this much of a political storyline so I didn't know if I would like that part of it and I am happy to say that I really liked the storyline and thought it was very interesting. This is possibility my favorite Katy Evans book so far. I really like Matt and Charlotte. They are intriguing as well as entertaining and I enjoyed being in both of their heads, I just wish we got a few more Matt POV chapters. I can't wait for Commander in Chief and to find out what is going to happen next with Matt and Charlotte!

Mr. President by Katy Evans *3 Stars* Review: This story is all about Matt and Charlotte. Matt is running for President of the United States in his father's footsteps. Matt believes he can't have his cake and eat it too. Meaning, he doesn't believe he can have a functional relationship and do his job well if elected President. Matt is the type of guy to give whatever he does 100%. So how can you give 100% to two different's impossible. Sometimes love just isn't enough. Sometimes things don't work out, no matter how much we want them to. This story felt like one of sacrifice. Learning to think not only of yourself, but for the people you care about and/or the greater good. I had some issues with the main character Charlotte. She met Matt when she was eleven years old and has been crushing ever since. I feel like Charlotte was forever eleven years old. She constantly reverted back to that child who had a bad case of infatuation. Charlotte had a great sense of humor and was such a hard worker, so I didn't completely dislike her character. I just needed her to embrace the woman that she had become instead of always feeling inferior. Matt on the other hand, I had no trouble falling for. He was very suave and had this way of making you love and believe in him. I wanted him to run for President in real life haha. The author did that great of a job making me believe in him. I wish we got to see more things from his perspective. I enjoyed reading his chapters a lot. Sadly, I had some issues with the writing. I feel the author repeated herself quite often. It was pretty distracting to hear the same description or wording over and over. Also, Charlotte would get so "amped up" from a mere glance from Matt. I just felt the two characters were at different stages in their life and it didn't always make sense to have them together. Then again, love doesn't always make sense so there ya go!!! Overall, I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. I feel like I'll still pick up the sequel to see how it all ends.

I enjoyed the way the author teased her readers along with her characters. How she had us begging for them to at least kiss. How she had the tension building for so long. I loved it.

What a great start to this duet! This is the first book in a two part series. I always find books on politics interesting. I'm not a political person myself so I find it fascinating what all goes on in politics. Matt Hamilton is every girl's fantasy and every guy wants to be him. He is political royalty. I felt myself falling for him along with Charlotte. Charlotte knew when she started things with Matt, that if he won the Presidency, he could never be hers. She couldn't stop herself from falling completely in love though. I loved the stolen moments they had and how Matt wanted to protect Charlotte at any cost. I didn't know if I wanted him to win or lose the Presidency. I wanted him and Charlotte to have a chance and I knew if he won, that wouldn't happen. I cried with Charlotte as Matt realized his dream and Charlotte's was crushed. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Loved Matt and Charlotte!

Mr. President the next bestseller for Katy Evans, this book has it all, exhilarating romance tension, perfect drama, strong woman character and an extremely hot sexy man that will make you devour the book. Charlotte a little girl meets the President and his son, ever since that meeting she keeps up with Matt’s life until he makes the decision to run and get himself back in the White House. They find a way to be together, but love strong enough or him becoming the next Commander in Chief tear them apart? I couldn’t put it down. Find out why Katy Evans is an author I will always one-click without even reading the summary. I can’t wait for more!

Oh my.....had to fan myself the entire way through this book. Such raw passion, unbridled feelings and secrets. If you loved Katy's Real Series, then you will love this even more. I praise Katy for writing strong male leads, but also women who just as strong and can take a hit for her man. Can't wait till Janauary 11, 2017 when book 2 comes out. I know where I want the story to go....will Katy lead us there or take a different turn. COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!

Holy hot candidate! I mean seriously I would vote for this man. Not only would he make a perfect president but who doesn't ’t want some eye candy during those boring presidential speeches. The campaign trail never looked this great. “Matt—Matt f@cking Hamilton, the complete American candy bar”. THIS book is sensual, steaming with forbidden lust, essentially brilliant with naivety and expertly written to suck you in. Charlotte is so sweet and loyal. Matt is charismatic and gorgeous. Katy brings these characters to life with her words, you feel them with each turn of the page. This is the start to your next addiction. Matt is a JFK type of candidate, the all American man that America needs to thrive once more. One that will be great for our country. His success rides on his values, on his love for his country. But Charlotte is not in the cards for this wanna be President. Scandal could ruin his campaign but losing Charlotte could ruin his world. Hidden in secret, stolen kisses, every exchange is salaciously wonderful. The Election may be won or lost but hearts are on the line and there is so much more to lose. “He looks like the bad boy of politics at the same time as he looks like the man you want to entrust yourself and your children to.” This seriously is going to be a phenofabulous duet! I can’t wait to see where it goes.

I love this author's other books, but this story didn't work for me. It wasn't able to keep my focus. There isn't anything in particular that stands out as something I didn't like. It's just that I couldn't get into it so it felt more like work than fun to read. Most people seemed to really like it. Maybe the timing was a factor for me because of already being burned out with this current election.

Holy smokes I wasn’t ready for this one! When I first got wind of this book, an eyebrow raised about it only because of the political aspect. However, that was quickly set aside when I remember that Katy Evans wrote this, I mean come on, she hasn’t disappointed me yet! So of course I started reading with an open mind and boy was this something! This is one of those stories that you just have to pick up and read! The chemistry between our main characters Matt and Charlotte is incredible fire that’s off the charts and the “complicated” aspect of this makes it even more heart stopping. Matt is a strong, smart, and captivating man who has an obvious love for his family, people in general, and his country! You get to see his character show through his actions and the love that he developed for charlotte was undeniable. Charlotte was incredibly sweet and caring, and watching the relationship between her and Matt develop was incredibly fun and lighthearted. She helped him become an even better man and it was heartwarming to watch! The progression of the story was incredibly smooth and it slowly stole me away. It gripped my attention from the start and at no point did it let go. For a while they tried not to acknowledge the feelings they had for each other, but of course that avoidance didn’t last forever and they finally gave in (and boy when they did)! This story was told slightly different from the way I remember Manwhore and I actually loved it just as much! I was, but I really wasn’t ready for what this one brought and to date, this is one of my favorite books, alongside every other book that I’ve read by Katy Evans. This one was entirely too much fun to read and I CANNOT wait for the next one because this one did end on a cliffhanger! These characters are phenomenal and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next!

4.5 Stars!! “The idea that Matt could be anything of mine is just mind-blowing, to say the least. But he could be my president. He was my first crush. He is my boss, and my candidate. And right now he is my very breath because nothing has ever felt as exciting to me as this man, this man in moment, sipping his coffee, leaning back in his chair, watching me with such lazy eyes–as if he has no intention of going anywhere.” “I can’t not pursue her. I can’t give her up yet.” “You probably think it’s an obsession…but it’s more than that. She means more than that.” She ground me. She obsesses me. She fuels me. Oh, Mr President!! How you’ve stolen my heart! With your sexy words and your undeniable charm. You have captivated and seduced me and left me wanting. No needing more. This book has exceeded my expectations and has given me things that I never knew I wanted. And I have to say, if Mr Hamilton existed in real life, he’d without a doubt have my vote From the very first page, I was sucked into this book. The writing is smart and entertaining. It had me hanging on every single word and dying to know what would happen next. This book is fun. It’s sexy. It’s forbidden and it is oh, so good!! I absolutely could not get enough of this book. I could not and would not put this story down. As someone who doesn’t know a lot about politics and has a hard time getting into them, I wish there were more books like this. Not only did I get an amazing story, but at the same time, I feel as though I actually might have learned something. And that is always a positive in my book. All I can say is that I loved this book. I loved every single moment of it and can not wait to get my hands on the epic conclusion to this story….

(Review is based on free ARC ebook via author in exchange for honest opinion.)..The front cover of Mr. President has mesmerized me for weeks, folks. You see, this reviewer always prefers class over skin on her romantic read’s book cover. Thank you, Ms. Evans, for giving us such a handsome, sexy image of Matt Hamilton, the third party dark horse presidential candidate featured in this story line. I can’t adequately stress how excited I’ve been to review this book after reading the well selected teaser snippets used to promote its release. Your marketing firm has definitely done a great job in presenting this publication. Ultimately though it will depend on the reader’s definition of romance if this book is going to win them over. Maybe a FACT vs OPINION approach is the best way for me to act as moderator in a literary debate between what will likely be two different audiences. Read for steam vs. avid romantic at heart enthusiasts. Some people, of course, will find themselves on both sides of the podium. FACT: Matt Hamilton, the 32 year old son of a former US president, is now running as an independent candidate for the US presidency. He’s convinced the country needs him and is willing to make whatever sacrifices necessary to win the election. His platform consists of the notion, as a bachelor, his First Lady will be America. His laser like focus will be solely on his country. Remaining single has become a virtual campaign promise. Even privately, he repeatedly tells Charlotte, the 22 year old campaign worker heroine, he never plans to marry or have children, but continues to have a secret affair with her. Despite the fact she makes him feel/want to be the best man he can be and would love to openly date her. OPINION: At times it feels like Charlotte is having a steamy, illicit affair with a married man who is the sole provider of a large brood of children and whose future side job just happens to be a superhero that would make even Super Man feel inadequate. The wife being politics, of course, and his constituents are his kids. The Super Man reference, well, he’s being made out to be the impending savior of the US, which we all know translates to the free world, as well. Charlotte knew what she was getting into, folks. He is upfront about his “I was born for this” campaign and won’t be swayed. He repeatedly tells her he plans to never marry, because a devoted politician is a workaholic who ultimately makes a terrible father and husband. This despite her telling him a couple of times she thinks she wants more from him. He claims to care for her enough to let her go, because she deserves more than the type of life his mother lived. Her lusty thoughts about his hotness/greatness put him on a very tall, high horse type pedestal. If God himself was running in this election, I think she would still vote for Matt. The writing does flow and the first half is mostly them trying to resist temptation for what they consider the good of the country/his campaign coupled with Charlotte’s non-stop “He’s so fine” fangirling inner dialog. You definitely feel their chemistry, folks. Though, personally, the smexy references/actions felt overly done at times. What about the second half? Well, let my passion meter description explain the rest. Again, it stays at a “can’t help but look but know I shouldn’t touch” until around 37% when a limited amount of lip action comes into play bringing it up a notch to “can’t keep my hands to myse
