I really liked this book. As cozy mysteries go, it's a great one. Kept me involved all the way to the end.

An excellent book for a rainy day. I totally love the ending, it makes it a truly great mystery.

This book only has 100 pages, but ogh the story packed into those 100 pages. While I was reading the first few chapters, I thought this is a nice cozy, safe mystery. Good for a cup of tea, a warm blanket and a dog on lap and cat on my shoulder. As the e vening wanned, the room darkened and I was reading only by the light of my nook. The story became darker, evil was right around the next page and when my husband slammed the door, I screamed and tossed my nook in the air. Thank goodness, I was not yet reading the conclusion or I might have experienced a heart attack. This sweet little mystery roped me in, then sunk its teeth into me. Thank goodness it was not longer, I might not have survived this eving filled with thunder, lightening and this book. An excellant book and recommended. For adults. A fun read. Everything about it is great from the writing, editing, whacked out characters, the expected and the unexpected. Now for a nerve pill, then on to the next book. I would have rated this higher if it were possible. AD

An ok mystery...the ending was pulled out of thin air, however.

I enjoyed the book, and thought the story line was great. I was looking for a little more suspense, but thought the book was a good read and am looking forward to reading the next book.

This is NOT a cozy. Starts out pleasant, grabs your interest right away so you can't put it down. Two thirds of the way through - you think, wait, this is getting a bit dark - and weird. And then it's like a bag of chips, you can't stop. I can honestly say it is very well written, creeeeeepy ending - I did NOT see it coming! 100 pages. No swearing, no sex, no gore. Don't read it alone at night. Would make a FANTASTIC episode of Twighlight Zone!

I liked this book. I couldn't give it 5 stars, though. I don't understand people who state this is "too dark" to be a cozy. It fits right in with the genre, and I've read darker. So don't let those comments deter you. I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the ending. I liked the twist, yes, but the ending was abrupt and there were no explanations for things, such as: Why did the killer hit the protagonist and her pregnant friend? Why were there chemicals on the body? How did the killer 's chemicals reach the victim? (I know, awkward question, but I can't be more specific without giving away some of the plot) How was it that the killer could move about so freely, in a small village, without anyone seeing or noticing? Why does the village have no internet or cell phone service? Does it have TVs? Why or why not? There was a hint at the beginning that this was unusual. And what's the deal with the strange cat behavior?? I did find the writing pretty good, and the plot was interesting. Apparently there are 2 more books about this village, and I would like to read them at some point.
