Murder on a One-Man Island

Wishing to find myself on my own, while at the same time fearful I might not be able to afford living on my own, I was looking for a college roommate when we met last Thursday in her Manhattan Upper West Side apartment. Finding Susann was a blessing. It meant I could move in with her, have my own room and do just that.
And when Susann asked me right then to come along on a three-day sailing trip to Long Island Sound with her and Candra, her best friend, I quickly said sure.
