the shadow of a hand

contorted to enable the casting

of the shadow of a

rabbit on the wall...

I yearn for a friend

to distract my mind

from this recursion

or else to help me enjoy it-

a tropical woman

her shadow merging with mine

on the moonlit stage

of life as we peer

out of this ramshackle hutch

called the world
