misunderstanding, bayou, psychics, resort-hotel, amateur-sleuth, women-sleuths, paranormal, murder-investigation, humor ***** The tattoo artist/sleuth and the detective are having some interpersonal problems, the twin descendants of Jean Lafitte have a document worth a fortune until one is killed and the document is stolen. Add in a TV film crew and some even crazier characters than normal, and you have a really excellent read full of surprises!
Mystic Mischief is a fun addition to a uniquely delightful series. Be prepared to be enchanted by the Cajun flavor of some of the characters and the warmth of all as they welcome you to a world that includes hauntings but one that should not include murder! Romantic discord plague our favorite couple while a thieving alligator plagues the resort guests, and treasure hunters storm the resort. Loved this one as much as the first one.
This is book three in the series. I would definitely read them in order. I loved this book. The plot is excellent with a lot of twists. The mystery is hard to figure out, which I love. (Nothing worse then knowing whodunit in the first few pages). I don't tell much about the plot in my reviews because I don't like spoilers myself. I highly recommend this book though!!! Highly recommend!!! I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Melanie Hamilton, resident tattoo artist at the Mansion on Mystic Isle, and her boyfriend Jack Stockton, the resort's general manager, are back for another adventure in this third Mystic Isles mystery. This time they are involved in a pirate treasure hunt. Fortune hunters have arrived searching for a long-lost and priceless letter stolen from the famous pirate, Jean Lafitte. The adventure starts as soon as Melanie and Jack return from a surprise vacation, to Palm Beach, to meet his parents. This meeting did not go well – at least with Jack’s mother. Melanie is glad to be back home. Well, she was glad to be back home until Jack’s ex-girlfriend shows up, with enough suitcases that Melanie knows that this is not going to be a quick visit from his ex, Sydney. As if there is not enough going on with a murder to solve and the ex-girlfriend getting in the way while trying to reconnect with Jack. Another fun read from the writing duo of Sally J. Smith and Jean Steffens. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
