Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 may 1861. He was also known by his nickname Gurudev. Tagore was a world famous poet, novelist, and philosopher. Also, he was the first Indian to win a Nobel Prize in literature. Two of his poetic songs became the National Anthem of two nations- India's "Jana Gana Mana" and Bangladesh "Amar Sonar Bangla".
