Overview

In the genre of commercial fiction, NANOGENESIS is a taut technological adventure. The story is based on science that is emerging today, yet few people are aware of the ramifications of nanotechnology. A team of scientists create a new technology that combines genetic DNA mapping with nanotechnology. The initial test is a huge success but a freak meteor storm hits the lab and infects the test animals. Soon the local town is infected and the government has to take over the lab and quarantine the town. What happens next is unspeakable.

About the Author

Duke Knight started writing when tapped for a state run, reading and writing program for advanced students back in the late seventies. Knight read numerous books by Heinlein, Bradbury, Gibson, and he continues to read numerous new fiction writers as well. His early writing influence was his teacher, Mr. Wiles. Upon studying film in Los Angeles his college professor, Mr. Surtees, further honed his skills as a writer by emphasizing "structure" in scriptwriting. This technique is foremost in his plot development.

Knight worked in the movie and video game industries for many years, primarily in special effects on such blockbusters as "Titanic" and the Matrix sequels.

His style of writing is reminiscent of Michael Crichton wherein he makes technology a thematic spine yet doesn't get bogged down in overplaying the techno-speak.

There will be two more books in the "NANOGENESIS" trilogy. It will be interesting to see where the story leads....
