Stephen Y. Nakada is Chair and Uehling Professor of the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is a national and international leader in the field of urology who has authored numerous publications and texts.

Sutchin R. Patel is an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is an established and well-published urologist in private practice. The combination of knowledge and perspective of both editors allow them to cover the multiple aspects of an academic and private practice.

Audience: This book is geared toward urologists. It will offer appeal to those in various stages of their urology career, from residents and fellows to young surgeons and mid-career urologists. The topics discussed offer broad appeal and interest even to more senior clinicians, especially those dealing with work-life balance, time management, burnout, and social media in urology. The authors and contributors are noted and credible, assembled from several prominent US urology departments.
Features: This book spans 16 chapters, each individual and succinct without overlap. They are uniformly well written and informative, with appropriate use of diagrams where appropriate. The topics are novel and interesting and are not typically described in an evaluative form. The initial chapters describe different roles of urologists, including educator, researcher, administrator, and leader, as well as how to find one's correct role. The middle chapters focus on efficiency improvement, including in the OR, in the office setting, time management, and patient satisfaction. The last sections include chapters on social media, job satisfaction including work-life balance and burnout, and introspection. Assessment: This book is refreshing and interesting. It is easy to read and digest, with a host of little pearls and suggestions to make a urologist's job more efficient and satisfying. I have not seen a compilation of topics similarly examined. Some of the topics are time sensitive (e.g., social media), which may evolve in the future.
