4.5 Stars Never Let Go, by Elizabeth Goddard, is a fast-paced reading adventure! This first book in the Uncommon Justice series offers a thrilling mix of mystery, suspense, action, faith, and romance. From start to finish, this novel is truly entertaining and utterly intriguing. Descriptive and real, the mountainous Wyoming setting enriches the plot and contributes to the authentic feel of the story. The vibrant characters also make this book special. They are relatable, likable, smart, and interesting. The engrossing plot of the novel is thoughtfully detailed and thoroughly engaging wrapping the reader in the thoughts, feelings, and motivations of the characters themselves. Like fallen leaves on a rugged trail, the themes of adversity, faith, perseverance, and restoration add depth and beauty to a riveting story that uplifts while it also entertains. Never Let Go offers more than a story of romance and suspense. It also shines with an emphasis on honesty, forgiveness, and second chances. As the characters grapple with difficult and dangerous events, they also search for wholeness, purpose, and meaning within their mistakes and choices. Their faith and trust grows stronger as they discover that true security is found in the promises of God and in the love and support of friends and family. With its integral setting, perceptive characters, and gripping plot, Never Let Go easily held my attention page after page. Ms. Goddard is a talented author with a genuine gift for compelling story-telling. Never Let Go is a book I can easily recommend to all readers who enjoy clean, suspenseful, romantic fiction, and I am eagerly looking forward to reading the next book in the series! *I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. A review was not required. The review I have written contains opinions that are entirely my own.

** “God would never leave her nor forsake her. But she couldn’t sense him with her. With everything that had happened, Willow felt like God was far from her.” ** “The pain in this life could overwhelm. She needed hope. Something to hang on to.” Elizabeth Goddard has entered into the romantic suspense field with her latest novel, “Never Let Go,” a tale that keeps the reader guessing to the very end. Still reeling from the hit-and-run death of her beloved grandfather and business partner, JT, forensic genealogist Willow Anderson decides to take on his final case — a woman searching for her baby daughter who was kidnapped 21 years ago. Willow is dismayed to learn JT had requested help from her former flame, Austin McKade, but when more and more disasters hit Willow, she realizes she needs to accept help from Austin, a former FBI agent who now works as a private investigator. As the case takes them from Seattle and desperate mom Katelyn’s Texas home to Austin’s hometown in Wyoming, he and Willow work to put together the clues to find Katelyn’s daughter. And while in Wyoming, Austin must face the demons from his own past, including an alcoholic and abusive father, while rebuilding a relationship with his estranged brother Heath. “Never Let Go” is filled with many different puzzle pieces. Willow and Austin must work quickly to determine which pieces fit together while constantly fighting off death threats and overcoming their own self doubts. And as they struggle to determine who stole the baby and why, will they also be able to overcome past issues in their relationship to build a romance once again? The author does a great job of building strong and likable characters who are also deeply relatable, with very human fears and weaknesses. Told mainly in alternating perspectives of Willow and Austin, “Never Let Go” is a great, fast-paced romantic suspense that’s also filled with so many amazing concepts: protecting those we love; you’re not alone because God is always with you; we must use our time and gifts that God gives us; we must be deliberate with our time and with others; overcoming regret and blame; the pain and destruction of hiding secrets; we’re always connected to our roots; and God is our rock and will never leave us nor forsake us. I truly enjoyed “Never Let Go,” which was my first novel by Goddard. Fans of authors like Lynette Eason, Lisa Harris, Patricia Bradley, Sandra Orchard and Terri Blackstock will truly enjoy this novel. I’m looking forward to the series’ next installment, which tells Heath’s story and is due in Fall 2019. Five stars out of five. Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, provided this complimentary copy for my honest, unbiased review.

This is the way to start a new series. This book was awesome. I loved finding out what a forensic genealogist does. This has a lot of suspense and romance. I did not want to put the book down. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Forensic Geneologist Willow Anderson's grandfather and founder of the company she worked at just passed away. Willow has a choice. Should she follow in his footsteps and keep the company going and continue his last case? Or should she call and let the case go? Willow's ex-flame, Austin McKade, is also an ex-FBI agent. Willow's grandfather had contacted Austin to help with the case before he died. Austin offers to continue on the case and to protect Willow. Never Let Go is a fast-paced novel follows Willow and Austin through some exciting adventures as they struggle to find out what happened to a baby abducted from a hospital over twenty years ago. At first I was a little frustrated with the communication struggles the couple was having. Then I quickly got caught up in the intrigue and plot of the novel. I have to say I didn't guess the ending and it kept me thinking and turning pages right up until the end. I enjoyed the romance between Austin and Willow, but I also enjoyed trying to help them solve the case as the story unfolded. For those who like mystery, romance and adventure, I highly recommend Never Let Go. Also, this book is a clean read. And the best part is that the series continues in Fall of 2019 as we read the story of Austin's brother, Heath, in in Uncommon Justice. I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review.

Good suspense but the romance was not balanced. I have mixed emotions about this story. The prologue was riveting but I could not connect to Willow and Austin’s romance. Since romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres, I was really looking forward to reading this one. The cover is awesome, the story premise is very intriguing, and I loved the introduction of forensic genealogy which I didn’t even know was an actual career. About half way through the suspense picked up so Willow and Austin spent more time trying to solve the mystery instead of thinking about their relationship. That was when I got pulled in the story. Full review is at my website. 3 1/2 stars. I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Revell Blog Tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed her are my own.

Title: Never Let Go Author: Elizabeth Goddard Series: Uncommon Justice Book 1 Chapters: 68 Pages: 362 Genre: Christian Suspense, Christian Romantic Suspense Rating: 5 stars Never Let Go is the first book I’ve read by Elizabeth Goddard and it will not be my last. When I read the blurb on the back I knew it was a book for me. Willow is a Forensic Genealogist which is a term I’ve never heard before but I was intrigued, as someone who majored in Criminal Justice in college and now works as a library assistant in the genealogy and local history department of my library this sounded like I a job I would be interested in. Because after all with genealogy you are trying to solve the mysteries of the near past as well as the far past. So it makes since that a Forensic Genealogist would help the police and FBI with missing people’s cases. Makes me want to research and see if there are actual Forensic Genealogist in real life in case I ever want a career change. Reading Never Let Go was bittersweet for me as I to have a late grandfather who fostered my love of genealogy. So it was easy to picture and understand what Willow was going through with her own loss of her grandfather. The ex FBI agent Austin McKade and Willow’s ex was the kind of hero I enjoy reading about in Christian Suspense novels. The kind while being a man of faith have a flaws and issues in their past that they need to deal with. It shows that they are human but God can still use them. I enjoyed this action packed Christian Suspense novel. That I think anyone who loves suspense will enjoy. I even learned about a possible new forensic career. I look forward to new books in the series as well as other books from Elizabeth. I received a copy of this book from the publisher as part of a blog tour. Never Let Go, book one of Elizabeth Goddard’s Uncommon Justice series, is not my usual genre. And I’m not overly fond of the cover art, which is what invites me to pick up a book. But, with that said, this book surprised me. It is a fresh and exciting read. Willow is an interesting character. I connected with and sympathized with her, but I was especially interested in Austin. I love second chance stories, and add in the suspense, tension, and great pacing, and I ended up satisfied. I feel a few of the romantic elements could’ve been fleshed out a bit more, but the suspense was fast-paced and intriguing. Opening Line (Chapter One): While death was no stranger to her, a courteous knock on the door to give warning this time would have been appreciated. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review.

Never Let Go drew me right in and kept me turning pages. I was intrigued by the fact that the heroine, Willow Anderson, was a forensic genealogist. It was interesting to learn more about what that involved and how she used her knowledge to help solve cases. Elizabeth Goddard is talented at creating engaging and multi-layered characters. Willow Anderson and Austin McKade are easy to visualize and come to life on the page. A stellar cast of supporting characters added to the story. With a compelling and complex plot, and lot of adventure and suspense, and a dash of romance, Goddard’s new series is off to a great start. I enjoyed the underlying messages of faith, courage, and forgiveness that added depth to the story. There were a couple of places I felt could have been a bit more tightly written, and at times I was a bit confused by some of the characters, but I felt the author did a great job of unfolding the story layer by layer and keeping the action coming. I would recommend this book and author to those who enjoy romantic suspense. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a review, and all opinions are my own.

I loved the plot of this book. It starts with the baby being taken and you get to see the abductors perspective and almost see the softer side of this person, but you have no clue who the person is or why they are taking the child, although a reason is hinted at. I will be honest, beyond that I didn’t care for the book. I think maybe it was just the style of writing didn’t connect with me. I found myself skimming over parts so I could get to the end and see how it all worked out, because I did want to know who did it and why. As always this is my opinion only. If this book sounds interesting to you I encourage you to read it and form your own opinion. A copy of this book was given to me by the publisher. All opinions are my own.

From the very beginning, I was pulled by the throat into this story mystery and suspense and not relinquished until the very last page. This was my first Goddard book and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by it. As I said above, the very beginning pulled me in with its myriad of twists and turns, but I do believe that there was more to the story than just the mystery. I found that this story has unusual depth for a book within the suspense genre. The characters were real and raw and their faith and struggles in that area were something I could relate to. The majority of the story takes place in Wyoming and. while I have never been there myself, because of Goddard’s descriptions, I was able to envision it. There is also some romance in this story, as tends to be in most any books now, and I did feel like it could have been toned back a wee bit. While it was understandable considering the characters had a past together, it did take away from the suspense a bit. In the end, though, I enjoyed this story immensely and am glad that I was able to read it. I will be on the lookout for the next books in the series! **I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.**

Willow Anderson’s past collides with her present as she takes on one of her late grandfather’s unsolved cases. Now someone is out to harm her, and she needs to rely on her ex-boyfriend Austin McKade to keep her alive while they team up to solve a cold case of an abducted baby. This novel definitely gives any suspense fan a thrilling ride. Plenty of action gives way to an intricate mystery to solve. But for romance fans, much of the story focuses on Willow and Austin’s relationship, especially Austin’s struggles to overcome his past. I liked Austin’s character development, as readers could see him come to terms with his broken family as he is forced to visit his hometown. I do wish there was a bit more focus on Willow’s job. She’s a forensic genealogist, and I could have used more details into her intriguing profession. It seemed that she was more of a detective rather than using skills as a genealogist to solve the crime. Overall this is a great romantic suspense novel with a nice balance between suspense and romance to keep me hooked to the end. I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is an action-packed romantic suspense novel set in the present day. Kuddos to the author on making her main female character a forensic genealogist, which is a different twist to these types of novels. I enjoyed that aspect very much. I also liked the main characters, and felt that the relationship between Willow and her grandfather was particularly well done and a realistic portrayal of a granddaughter grieving for her grandfather and mentor. Some of the romantic elements of the story seemed a bit repetitive, but it was a solid read, and I enjoyed it. There were plenty of twists to keep the reader interested. This is the first in a series of novels, but it is a stand-alone story. I received this book from the publisher, Revell, for the purpose of writing a review, but all opinions are my own.

This is the first book I have read by Elizabeth Goddard and I have found another favorite romantic suspense author. Elizabeth Goddard combines fast-paced and action-filled plot with relatable and angst-filled characters. The plot has many layers and surprises that you won't be able to guess who the villain is and the motive until the very end! There are themes of forgiveness, grace, and acceptance of God's mercy infused into the main characters' development. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will not want to miss this one. Willow, our heroine, is determined, feisty, resourceful, and compassionate as a forensic genealogist. She is unfortunately blindsided when family tragedy strikes and gets involved in a case of trying to find a baby who was taken 21 years ago. Austin, her ex-boyfriend, is strong, loyal, and intelligent but lives in a world of regrets and guilt. He's now a private investigator who gets involved in Willow's case due to her grandfather's request. These two work so well together, despite their differences and tumultuous past, and I can't wait to see more of them as the series unfolds. I'm hoping the next book will be about Heath, Austin's oldest brother, since he had a large role in this particular story. I was given a copy of this book by Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Wow! Never Let Go was an intense story! This is one of my favorite books that this author has written. It was so interesting to watch as Willow and Austin worked to piece together the decades old kidnapping mystery, while trying to stay alive! I loved the beautiful and rugged setting of Wyoming. It lent a wildness to the story that kept me on edge as I tried to work out who was behind the kidnapping of Jamie Mason. It was hard to know who to trust and clear that someone did not want their secret to become known. The second chance love story between Willow and Austin was wonderful and left me feeling happy for all they had come through. What a great start to a new series! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This latest thriller from Ms. Goddard is a new suspense must-read! Willow Anderson is a forensic genealogist who works with her grandfather. At the beginning of this book, her grandfather has recently died and she begins looking into his active cases. There is only one case he is working on- an infant kidnapping from twenty years ago. After Willow’s life is threatened, she is determined to solve the case. Before he died, Willow’s grandfather had contacted her ex, Austin, for his assistance on the case. Austin is a former FBI agent, but now works independently providing protection. Austin and Willow will race the clock to find the missing girl before all of them are killed. This is a thrilling ride through various scenarios. Ms. Goddard leaves you guessing throughout the book as to who is behind the kidnapping. I highly recommend this book!!! You will not be disappointed! ***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

Readers are in for a treat with the newest book from Elizabeth Goddard. It is a fast paced action packed story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I love a good book that has intrigue, well developed characters and a bit of romance mixed in and this book delivers it all. From the beginning you easily connect with Willow. She is a smart person who helps her grandfather run Anderson Consulting. I was fascinated by the work she does as a Forensic Genealogist. Tragedy strikes and Willow loses everything in her life including a very special person. Willow is determined to finish a job that was started before tragedy happened. Austin is a man that is straight forward and has regrets about the way he and Willow parted ways sometime ago. They have teamed up now to finish a case that has been on the books for awhile. The case itself has its own mystery that will place them in danger. A mother who's baby girl was abducted years ago is desperate to find her daughter before she dies. Willow and Austin have no idea where their investigation will take them, but be prepared for a bumpy ride as suddenly their lives are in danger. Why does someone want to stop Willow and Austin from finding out what happened to the baby? Is it possible that the baby survived and now is in danger themselves? I loved the intrigue in the book and how the readers are left guessing to the very end in this intense thriller. Elizabeth Goddard writes a story that takes you to the edge of danger with twist, romance and a mystery many years in the making. The tension throughout the book is written perfectly with questions of who can be trusted and why is this young woman who was abducted so important to many people.? The ending is exceptional and will show how secrets and deception can cause tragedy . I highly recommend this book to everyone looking for a book filled with twists, and writing at its best. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

I just loved this story. Willow and Austin were such a great team. Their feelings for each other come rushing back after two years apart. With threats and danger abounding on their quest to find a woman's daughter who was kidnapped 21 years ago they tip toe around their past relationship. As Austin shares some things from his past he has hope that maybe they can have a future. A future if they are able to find out who is trying to stop their quest and threatening their lives. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

“God, please hide me tonight. Hide me in the shadow of your wings”...Forensic genealogist, Willow Anderson is following in her late grandfather’s footsteps after he dies leaving her in charge of the business. He was on a cold case of a child that went missing 20 years ago from a hospital. With this child’s dying mom asking for help, she’s struggling with what to do next. In walks her ex-FBI boyfriend Austin after she’s almost killed. Their relationship is a struggle even today, but they need each other to figure out why she is being targeted. As the danger increases so does the suspense. I did struggle with the back-and-forth in their relationship… A lot of trust issues, but it led to a deeper relationship with God, The book really took off half way through with so many twists and turns. I’m looking forward to more from Goddard. It’s a great beginning to her new series with a roller coaster ride of mystery and romance. I was provided a free copy of this book through the publisher and NetGalley. I love this author’s Love Inspired Suspense books and decided to giver her new full length series a chance and I loved it. I am providing an honest review and I honestly loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the action and fast pace. It combines romance, action and suspense to make a great combination. I also love how the characters developed in the book. Willow Anderson is a forensic genealogist who worked alongside her grandfather. When he was killed, Willow picks up the pieces of their business and begins to work the last case her grandfather was working on. She finds herself in danger almost immediately and barely survives. Austin McKade is a former FBI agent who was called by Willow's grandfather prior to his death. He was asked to assist on the case her grandfather was working on. Austin and Willow had a previous relationship that ended with both of them being hurt. It does not mean the feelings have died. When Austin learns Willow is in danger, he vows to help her solve the case and to keep her safe. Austin and Willow begin to work together to find a missing girl that was kidnapped as a baby. They follow a trail that takes them to the town Austin grew up in. He has not seen his brothers since their father died. Being in town gives Austin the chance to see his brother and begin to get past his issues. If he wants a future with Willow, he has to get closure of the open wounds he carries. Willow also has to trust Austin in order to follow her heart. But shortly after they arrive, they find themselves in danger again. As Willow and Austin follow the clues to uncover a kidnapping plot, they still have one last thread they have yet to follow and they come face to face with that thread right at the end. It was such a shocking moment in the book. Just when you think the case is solved, it is not. I highly recommend this book. It was very enjoyable and I look forward to reading more exciting books by Goddard. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest feedback.

Never Let Go was a simply fantastic read. It hooked me early on with a compelling mystery and characters I adored. You can’t help but love Austin & Willow and root for them to solve the case and find their way back to each other. The mystery had several twists and turns that kept the story moving and kept me enthralled. I finished this book in a day because I simply couldn’t put it down, except when you know life interrupted as it tends to do with a 3 and 5 year old. Conclusion was great and I am eagerly anticipating book number #2 with Heath! I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Willow is trying to decide whether to even work on her grandfather's last case before he was accidentally killed when she herself experiences a dangerous trauma. She hasn't even processed her grandfather's death and her world is shattered once more. When Austin, her ex, shows up concerned and wanting to help, she must decide what the next step is. Is she qualified to take on an FBI cold case and is it worth risking her life over? The prologue chapter had me immediately intrigued and eager to find out what happens next. Despite Austin's secrets, he really is a thoughtful and honorable guy. TWICE there is cheesecake courtesy of Austin in this story and TWICE it goes uneaten because of the circumstances! I had NO idea who the bad guy was, but I had two people I greatly suspected. I was wrong and even got lost with several characters that were connected in the Wyoming part of the story. However, the author brilliantly describes the scenery there and it really is breathtaking from this story. Also loved the piece of jewelry Austin buys. Even though we never "meet" JT, the grandfather, his spirit lives on through the plot. It was such a thrill reading Goddard's first full length novel and WHAT a page turner it is!! This book TRULY kept me up HOURS past my bedtime through the last 100 pages or so. Austin and his brother, Heath, are true heroes and looking forward to Uncommon Justice, Book TWO later this year! I received a copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

People tend to look for a needle in a haystack, when all they need is one good thread. Willow is a forensic genealogist who takes on her late grandfather's last case. A case that is so different from what they normal work. A case involving an abducted baby 21 years ago. A case that became a cold case for the FBI. A case that will bring Willow to reconnect with her ex flame Austin. Austin is a former FBI agent that J.T. called in to possible help before his untimely death. Who hears of a fire that puts Willow in the hospital. He rushes to her side, realizing he needs to keep her safe. Can they solve this case in time? Who is putting threats on Willow's life? Who wants them to stop searching? Will Willow and Austin fall into the spiderweb of past feelings for each other? Never Let Go is a contemporary suspense that will sink its hooks into you. It will leave you reeling from all the intensity and twists that Elizabeth Goddard spins into this story! Never Let Go, grabs you from the first page and keeps you wanting more right until the very end.

I have read and enjoyed several of Elizabeth Goddard’s Love Inspired Suspense novels so was pleased to learn that she had been signed by Revell for a series of full length novels. Never Let Go is the first of the Uncommon Justice series and if it is any indication of the books to follow, I will definitely be reading them all. Put together a forensic genealogist and a former FBI agent who is also an ex-beau and have them work together to solve a cold case and you have the formula for a suspenseful and possibly romantic tale. Naturally the two lead characters Willow and Austin carry around a few secrets as well as major trust issues but it almost seems as though Willow’s grandfather is still playing matchmaker from beyond the grave. The plot is fast-paced and contains the requisite amount of danger, suspense, and major plot twists and surprises to keep most readers happy. I personally had difficulty putting my copy down because I HAD to know what happened next but I reached the end much too soon. I am eager for the publication of the next book in this exciting series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the author and Baker Book House. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
