I just loved this story. Willow and Austin were such a great team. Their feelings for each other come rushing back after two years apart. With threats and danger abounding on their quest to find a woman's daughter who was kidnapped 21 years ago they tip toe around their past relationship. As Austin shares some things from his past he has hope that maybe they can have a future. A future if they are able to find out who is trying to stop their quest and threatening their lives. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Is it too late to find the girl? Is it too late for them? I've really been looking forward to Elizabeth Goddard's first foray into full-length romantic suspense novels since I first heard several months ago that it would be releasing. Some authors have difficulty switching from either short to long stories or long to short stories, Elizabeth Goddard had no such trouble with Never Let Go. Exciting, spine-tingling, and definitely action-packed, from the very start, this book was a great start to the Uncommon Justice series. As a person fascinated by family history from a very young age, I found the heroine's profession to be unusual and perfectly intriguing. I had heard of genealogists before but the term 'forensic genealogist' was a new one to me. I sincerely enjoyed Never Let Go, from the dramatic cover to the very last paragraph. The characters are engaging, the mystery is engrossing, the settings are striking, and the back-and-forth tug of romance between Willow and Austin is just right. Not to mention the elements of faith woven throughout the story are a perfect complement to the backdrop intrigue fraught with danger. Whether you love the Elizabeth Goddard's shorter books or just romantic suspense in general, Never Let Go is a MUST read. Don't miss a single page! (I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

Following the sudden death of her grandfather, forensic genealogist Willow Anderson continues his work on a cold case kidnapping that happened over 20 years ago. But when someone makes an attempt on her life, she knows that she is on the right track. Former FBI agent, and Willow's Ex-Boyfriend Austin McKade offers his help. Austin must confront his past, if he's going to fight to win back the one who got away. A fast paced read, with fantastic tension, strong characters lead this explosive read. I liked the intriguing and taunt plot, as well as the well done emotional element to this story. Willow is determined to see this to the end, as this is the last case her grandfather was working on before his death. Her grandfather was a big part of her life, with a strong faith that inspired her daily. She isn't sure if she has the strength to follow in his footsteps as a forensic genealogist, and she tries to do what he would do and make him proud. She must use all of her wits to solve this case and make it out alive. I admired her perseverance and strong family and faith values. Austin had a troubled childhood, and has always struggled to lay the past to rest. He is a loyal friend and is determined to help Willow, and be there for her this time. He's always kept a close guard on his heart with walls a mile high, he wants that to change and be someone that she can rely on. A thrilling read, with compelling characters and a whirling plot, you don't know who to trust or where Willow and Austin can turn. It's pretty much non-stop action, but the strong character development is not neglected. There is strong faith, and a terrific plot that kept me guessing the whole way through and before I knew it--and way too soon I might add--the book was over. I was hanging on tight the whole time! There was a full cast of characters, and I couldn't help but love how the mystery brought them to Wyoming. This is the first book I've read by Elizabeth Goddard, and it won't be the last, I'm definitely won over as a new fan and can't wait for the rest of the series. Highly recommend this suspenseful adventure, with a compelling storyline and fantastic heroes! Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Uncommon Justice series and a wonderful start to a new series. I will most definitely be looking forward to reading more books in this series. Willow Anderson is still reeling from her grandfather's death when she becomes plagued by near death accidents. She soon realizes they are all related to the last job her grandfather was working on, a twenty year old cold case involving a kidnapped baby that the FBI and local law enforcement hadn't been able to solve. Austin McKade is willing to take on the job of finding this missing young woman only because he realizes that Willow's life is in danger and he had walked away from her once, he's not going to do it again. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Never Let Go was a very pleasant surprise for me. The synopsis grabbed my attention and the book did not disappoint me. It was well written and kept my attention on every page. Willows grandfather dies and she decides to take the last case he was working on. A cold case over 20 years old. A baby abducted from the hospital and the birth mother is still looking for her. Willow's ex boyfriend steps in to help. Of course they still care deeply for each other. He's ex FBI and has issues from his childhood and his job that he has to overcome. It wasn't that they had the "hots" for each other, they loved each other. It was a nice clean romance mixed in with all the mystery and action. I highly recommend this book. I'll even say I enjoyed it as much as any Irene Hannon or Dani Pettrey book that I've read. I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest opinion.

4.5 stars This is a great, suspenseful, exciting read. I would love for it to be a movie. It is book one in the Uncommon Justice series, so what a great place to get started and hooked on this series. There are many twist and turns, some heartache, healing, surprise, romance and so much more all packed into an amazing story. I look forward to reading more in this series. Willow Anderson is following in her grandfathers footsteps, not really understanding why he took on this cold case, when usually they search for the genealogy of deceased people. Now she must see if she has what it takes to find a missing person, who does not know they are missing. All while in the company of her handsome ex-boyfriend and former FBI agent Austin McKade. Both will uncover things about themselves and try to solve a mystery all while trying to keep Willow from the danger that seems to lurk around every corner.

So, this is the first book I have ever read from this author. I was impressed, the story did not slow down much, and when it did those time were still pretty intense just wondering what was going to happen next. The story line was well written and keeps read wondering who did what. Early on I thought "oh this book is so predictable and I know who done it" in the end I was completely wrong. In the end I wanted a little more about Willow,Austin, Charlie, and Heath and what is next for them, then I realized this was a series so I sure I haven't heard the last of them. I hope to also hear more of Charile's story as well. Over all this book was a clean read and suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Uncommon Justice series. Willow Anderson is a Forensic Genealogist following in her grandfather’s footsteps. Trying to solve a twenty-year-old cold case puts her life in jeopardy. Ex-FBI agent, Austin McKade offers to protect and help Willow in her search for answers. From the heart-wrenching open scene to the climatic last page the author kept you turning the page for more. I didn’t want the story to end; even though I stayed up way too late finishing it! I can’t wait for the next installment. I loved how Willow wanted/needed answers from Austin but she didn’t push him. She gave him space to talk when he was ready. I would highly recommend this book. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

My Review: I received a physical copy of this book and literally could not put it down. Lucky for me baby decided to go to sleep early and was super content staying asleep as long as I kept rocking her. So while rocking I kept reading. As a girl who has suffered the loss of her parents and more recently the tragic loss of her grandfather, Willow has a heart for people missing their family and people who are willingly away from their family. That's why this case is so close to her heart. A mother who had her infant abducted out of her hospital room never to find her again. She has only a few months to live and wants to find her daughter. Other investigators have been tried but no one has succeeded. She's positive her daughter is still alive though. Why was she targeted? Was it personal to her or just a random baby snatched? Did the kidnapper love her child? So many unresolved questions. On another hand we have former FBI Austin who still has feelings for Willow. She still has feelings for him too but can't trust her heart to someone she can't trust. Austin has two brothers he hasn't talked to since his father died. So why is one contacting him now? And why is Willow's latest case taking them right back to his home town. But more importantly why is someone trying to stop them? Why has Willow's life been threatened not once but twice? And what lengths will this kidnapper go to to protect the person behind the kidnapping as well as the girl kidnapped? Or is she truly safe? I did receive a copy of this book to facilitate my review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

I started off totally into the book. It captured my interest and kept me intrigued. Initially Everyone in my mind was a suspect, except for the two main characters. Plus, the twist at the end was... wow. Willow and Austin once dated and join back together after Willow's grandfather's death to solve a mystery that her grandfather had just started. Quite a few traumatic events occur while Willow is investigating the mystery of a baby girl who was abducted from the hospital 21 years prior. They travel to Wyoming to unravel a potential thread that had not been accounted for in the previous investigations. As I said, I loved the first part of the book. It kept me interested and I was able to keep, for the most part, all the characters in line. That is, until the end of the book. Elizabeth did a great job in developing the characters and growing to the point of the book where there was the discovery. However, my main complaint is that the end of the book just felt so rushed. There was so much pertinent information being given, that I wish that there had been more time to spend on developing it in a better reading format.  While I enjoyed the outcome of the book, I just wish that it had approached the end, writing wise, in a better manner. The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book or advanced reading copy.

3.5 Stars NEVER LET GO is the start of a new romantic suspense series that offers plenty of romance and suspenseful action. There is a strong inspirational element woven through the story as well as plenty of mysteries and friendships. An entertaining read. What I liked about the story: - I really liked these characters! Willow and Austin are definitely leading characters readers can cheer on and connect with. They both have weaknesses and strengths, but I like how they were single-minded in finding the truth and trying to protect those who were in danger. - The inspirational element was woven through the entire story and felt genuine to these characters. - There were plenty of twists and suspense. - The romance was super sweet. - I liked that this story focused on a forensic genealogist, which is something I haven't seen before in literature and seems prevalent for today with all the DNA texts and genealogy lines that people search for. What I didn't like about the story: - I would have liked the romance to not be so immediate. The two main characters had all this backstory, but as a reader, I was never involved in that story. It's alluded too, but it didn't quite feel genuine and I just didn't feel the chemistry between these two. There were also lots of moments where the characters were thinking about each other and about their emotions when it felt weird that it would be the first thing on their minds as they were in the middle of these crazy situations. The romance aspect just felt heavy to me and overdone. - Quite a few of the suspenseful elements didn't work for me. I felt like the bad guys had it much too easy and the good guys who were properly trained allowed things to happen that shouldn't have - at least not in the way they did. It just rubbed me wrong. In the end, was it what I wished for? This was an overall enjoyable story. I would have liked more development in some areas, but other aspects of the story I did enjoy. Content: Some violence, but clean. Source: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through JustReadTours, which did not require a positive review nor affect it in any way.

So surprised there weren't more five star reviews. Loved this story! Action, suspense and romance. This one was a fairly quick read for me as I had a hard time putting it down. Willow Anderson is a forensic genealogist who works with her grandfather, JT. They help find both the living and the dead for the living. An interesting occupation, for certain. After JT's death, Willow isn't sure if she has what it takes to keep the firm open. She doesn't feel she has the skills her grandfather had. She discovers there is only one case her grandfather was working on at the time of his death. A woman, Katelyn had hired the firm to find her daughter, her precious baby girl who was abducted from her hospital room only hours after giving birth. She would now be twenty-one years old. Katelyn has never given up hope of finding her child. Willow makes the decision to continue the case when she learns Katelyn, who has leukemia, has been given only two months to live and some of that time has already passed. Then, attempts are being made on Willow's life. First, her home burns, with her barely making it out alive. While in the ER, she sees Austin McCade in her room. Austin, is her ex-boyfriend and a friend of her grandfather's. Willow never got over loving Austin, but he had too many secrets. Austin tells her that JT had hired him to help work with him on finding Katelyn's child. Then, there is an attempt on Willow and Dana's (assistant) lives, Willow begins to think it may all be connected to the infant kidnapping case and realizes that she needs Austin's help. Austin was formerly FBI. Following a lead, Willow and Austin travel to Wyoming, which is where Austin grew up. Nothing like a road trip between two old flames to add to the tension of the case. Attempts were made on Willow's life in Wyoming. Can they even trust the local sheriff? Why doesn't someone want them to solve the case? Do the attempts on her life mean she and Austin are getting closer to the truth? To finding Katelyn's now grown child? Wonderful, wonderful story! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Willow and Austin’s complex relationship made my heart accelerate and sent my matchmaking hopes into overdrive! Willow’s story is heartbreaking yet the fact that she simply keeps putting one foot in front of the other (despite the fog of her often overwhelming grief) is truly inspiring. Willow is obviously intelligent and I admire her quick and analytical thinking. Austin is a tough guy hero with baggage, regrets, and a vulnerable core (which makes him and frankly most men super uncomfortable and usually cranky). His protective instincts are locked into hyperdrive from beginning to end and who can resist that level of intense sustained focus?! Woo, that man is swoony! You can bet your tree branches I’ll be checking out Elizabeth Goddard’s backlist while I eagerly anticipate the next installment of the Uncommon Justice series! Consider me wowed! I highly recommend this title for readers who enjoy action-packed romantic suspense, this story delivers! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

What a great start to a new romantic suspense series by Elizabeth Goddard. This story started off with every parent’s worst nightmare and does not let up even though some time has passed. The action and danger ramp up as Willow Anderson, a forensic genealogist (what a cool job) and her bodyguard/ex-boyfriend, Austin McKade team up to honor her late grandfather’s legacy and help a dying woman get her dying wish. This is full of many twists and turns with a few of the minor characters viewpoints given as well to make things a bit more interesting. So many secrets and so much danger is uncovered till Willow and Austin don’t know who to trust. Throw in some family drama with Austin and his brothers and you have a book that is really hard to put down. These characters haunted my dreams! Looking forward to more in this adrenaline pumped series. I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

The book starts off with a bang! Possible murder, attempted murder, arson, and having two ex-lovers meeting again! This is not a book you want to read at night to fall asleep (as is my custom) because you won’t! The plot moves along at a break neck speed. As if all of this is not enough for one person to bear, Willow does not have time to sit back and contemplate. She must join forces with her former boyfriend, Austin, whom she never wanted to see again. She has no choice to be able to stay alive and get to the bottom of a 21 year old cold case file of a baby stolen from a hospital. The birth mother only has 2 months to live. All the violence seems to link back to this one incident. While she wants nothing to do with, Austin, a former FBI agent now private investigator, she finds his help is essential. The author does a brilliant job of sharing Willow and Austin’s complicated thoughts and feelings toward one another as the story unfolds. Their old wounds and heartaches surface again, forcing the couple to face them. Austin’s personal, hidden past of an abusive childhood and an estranged family resurfaces, requiring him to deal with it. There is so much pain; the pain of loss of life, a child, shattered relationships, and self-doubt. Mysteries only God can reveal and pain only He can heal. I appreciate wholesomeness of the book in the area of romance. I admired Willow’s resilience and persistence to do what was right in spite of her present situation. Austin won my respect with his courage to step back into Willow’s life not only to aid her but also protect her. This is a riveting and exciting story with all its layers of suspense and kaleidoscope of emotions. An added bonus was I learned something new! I had never heard of a forensic genealogist! Fascinating! If I had heard about it growing up I think of might have become one! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing in exchange for an honest review. The opinions I have stated are my own.

3.75 stars Thank you to Revell for a free copy. Never Let Go is told in several different perspectives with Willow and Austin being the main ones. Willow's Uncle who she works with has recently passed away leaving her to take over the case he was working on. Willow must find a woman's missing daughter who was taken at birth. In order to do this though Willow is going to need some help from Austin who is a former FBI-agent and her ex. As the two get closer to finding the missing baby (now adult), someone is doing everything they can to try and stop them. Overall I really liked this story. Willow and Austin were both likable characters who worked well together. Austin had the FBI know how still and Willow wouldn't stop at anything and had been taught how to trace the little clues by her Uncle. These little clues ended up being big ones and lead them straight to where they hoped to get more answers. The big clue also lead to far more danger for everyone involved including the adult who had been taken as a baby. The danger kept getting scarier the closer to the end of the book and it all ended with a surprising twist that I didn't see coming. While this book is mainly focused on the mystery and case we also get to see Austin and Willow really talk about why they had broken up in the first place and stopped talking. I don't normally care for this, but it ended up playing into other parts of the story so it was necessary to have. They work good together when they aren't keeping secrets from one another. I'm interested now to see what happens in Uncommon Justice as this book ended nicely with no lose case strings to figure out in the next one.

Woo-wee! When I marked this book for my I want to read this one list last June, I never dreamed the ride I would experience while reading Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard, the first in her new series Uncommon Justice. Willow Anderson is a forensic genealogist who undertakes completing her grandfather’s last case he started before his tragic death. The case is finding out who abducted a baby from a hospital room, right under the watchful mother’s eyes, more than 20 years ago. When someone attempts to kill her, Willow is not deterred, only more determined. Austin McKade is a former FBI agent, and Willow’s ex-boyfriend, becomes Willow’s guard, tasked with keeping her alive while someone is determined to stop the investigation. As the danger increases, old feelings heat up... Really loved Never Let Go! It is unputdownable. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and am under no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions therein are solely my own.

I love the premise of this book -- baby stolen from the hospital, ex-flames reunited, etc. I got a sense that the story will bring some intense action and that it will be an edge of your seat read. The start of the book was excellent. It grabbed my attention. I found myself guessing about involvement from characters close to Willow at the beginning. I kind of hoped that would be the outcome. I got deeper into the book and it still held my attention. I was so curious what was going on. However, the farther I got into the plot the more confused I became. But I plugged on and finished the book because I was that curious how it would turn out. In the end I was rather disappointed and very much confused about all the people. There were connections between people that I didn't expect which was great. But I felt the story lacked the narrative to connect everything and give it a backbone. I was confused by all the names dropped towards the end. Where did this person come from? Why does he all of a sudden have the ability to kill so and so? What in the world? These were all questions I found myself asking as I finished the book. I needed more meat there to explain everything and to make it not seem like a quick exit. I ended up giving the book 3 stars out of 5 because of the seeming lack of development at the end. I wasn't upset I read the book I just felt meh... I received a copy of this book from Revell's blogger program. I was in no way required to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Such an interesting and suspenseful book! It had me twisting and turning and guessing all the way to the end! Willow is a forensic genealogist (who knew there was such a thing?) that has been asked by a woman to find her daughter who was stolen from the hospital right after being born. It's been over twenty years and other detective agencies have all hit a dead end. There's a clock on finding the daughter as her mother has cancer and not long to live. Austin McKabe is an ex-FBI agent that Willow's grandfather had asked to help with the case. As it would happen, Austin happens to be Willow's ex boyfriend and she's not looking forward to working with him. However, as the case grows and they follow their leads, it becomes clear that his expertise and protection are much needed. I really enjoyed the setting of Wyoming in this book and how the author made us feel as though we were there. I really enjoyed the fact that I had no idea who was behind all the things that were happening and was amazed at the satisfying ending. If you enjoy mysteries that keep you guessing, you'll love this book as much as I did. It's a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and give 5 stars. *This book was provided to me by Revell. I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this book.

If I'm being honest, even though I believed it would still be interesting, I thought I had this book all figured out before I even picked it up. I couldn't have been more wrong! Elizabeth Goddard has written a must-read for suspense fans! One thing I really liked about the character development was that Willow and Austin already had a complicated relationship with baggage prior to the start of this book. It drives me nuts when I read a book and the main character meets the detective on their case and suddenly BAM they're in love. To a certain extent I can understand it's part of the genre, but when characters are able to have more depth and history than is maintained in the pages I'm instantly more likely to enjoy it. This is one of those books that can easily keep you up past your bedtime from "Just-one-more-chapter" Syndrome. With short chapters and a fast-paced storyline this isn't a difficult book to finish in one sitting (time permitting of course ;) ). This was my first time reading a book by Elizabeth Goddard but I'm sure it won't be my last! I'm already anxiously awaiting the next book to arrive in the series!  *I received a copy of this book through JustRead Publicity Tours. Thoughts and opinions expressed are mine alone.

Never Let Go kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I had no idea what could possibly happen next. I had a blast trying to play detective right alongside Willow and Austin, while they searched for a clients missing daughter. I found myself holding my breath when they were scared and running from danger. I liked watching them grow and learn more about themselves along the way. It was so interesting learning more about how forensic genealogists work and discover clues to the past. I know I’m not alone in saying that I hope Goddard writes another book with Willow and Austin as secondary characters. They were so unique and fun to get to know. Goddard is a master at suspense, so couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. The mystery and romance make the perfect combination for a hard to put down story. I can’t wait to see what she does next. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishers and Netgalley and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Willow Anderson's life is flipped upside down when her grandfather is killed. Not only was he her business partner in his genealogist company, but he was her rock and the one she looked up to for everything. When she decides to continue investigating the case he was working on when he was killed, she quickly finds out that it's much more dangerous than she expected. When attempts are being made on her life, she realizes that someone doesn't want the truth exposed. With the help of her ex-boyfriend and former FBI agent, Austin McKade, uncovering the truth will lead them on unexpected paths, not only for the case, but their hearts as well. Goddard spins a fast-paced, action packed story that keeps the reader flipping the pages to find out what happens next. This is the first book in the Uncommon Justice Series and it does not disappoint. with twist and turns around every corner and with every page, Goddard does a great job creating a story that keeps the reader interested and wanting more. If you enjoy suspense with romance thrown in throughout, you will enjoy this book. Revell Books sent me this complimentary copy to review for them. Opinions expressed are my own.

Never Let Go is a suspenseful tale that kept me guessing until the end! Willow and Austin are interesting characters, and I cheered them on as they raced to solve a kidnapping cold case. Their story is filled with twists and turns, and a rekindled romance adds emotional depth to the mix. I enjoyed this introduction to the Uncommon Justice series and look forward to Heath’s story in the second book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. No review was required, and all thoughts expressed are my own.
