Next Christmas

Nik has a problem.

That is, Santa has a problem. He's been delivering presents all over the world since before Christmas was even a thing, but recently it seems that other people have been doing his job for him. Every house he arrives at already has stockings filled to the top, and people have eaten the cookies he was sure were left out for him. But it isn't until he finds presents under the tree with his name on the gift tags, that he realizes people are actually pretending to be him.

With Christmas spirit being the thing that's kept him alive for so long, he's afraid that all of this nonsense is going to make him disappear into the void. All of his efforts to make people believe in him again have proven worthless so there's only one thing left to do: Disguise himself as a 30-something-year-old man and travel to a town far from the North Pole to get to the bottom of what's going on.

Nik is prepared for life away from magic, but what he isn't prepared for is meeting Morgan, the charming sister of his across-the-hall neighbour. She introduces him to a side of Christmas he's never been able to experience, and it's magical in a way he didn't think could be possible. He wishes he could reciprocate and share his version of Christmas with her, but trying to tell her who he is would definitely throw a wrench in things.

Okay, so maybe Nik has two problems.
