The pub date for the nook says 12/28/2010. This book was actually published in 1986! I think it is very misleading to put a publication date for the eBook rather than the original hardcover book. The story was fine. It moved along at an O.K. pace with nice character development, however not sure I want to read more about Dougal Munro or Jack Carter.

A university professor turned assassin for his country during WWll is the protagonist in this tale. Higgins work during the eighties contains some of the best thriller/intrigue novels ever, especially when he uses the second world war as his setting. This the story of a rescue attempt by Harry Martineau, the don, and Sarah Drayton on the German held island of Jersey. The subject of their assignment is a man with a secret so great the result of the war is at stake.
