Amanda Bouchet does not disappoint. Can’t wait for the next installment in her new futuristic story about a rebel heroine giving her all to fight oppression and keep her chosen family safe.

This was a fast moving action packed story. Your drawn in by the array of characters and their fight for less fortunate. They themselves don't have much but they still risk their lives to help others. With all the twist and turns I don't want to give any spoilers. But the main character being a woman is also what makes this so much fun.

Nightchaser is book one in a brand new series, Endeavor, by Amanda Bouchet. It’s got heartache, betrayal, secrets, lose, action, and so much more. I had a delightful time reading Bouchet’s Fantasy trilogy The Kingmaker Chronicles and was excited to read her new Sci-Fi Romance. Tess Bailey is a women on the run and everyone is out kill her. At the begging Tess is strong and decisive on her decisions, but then Shade comes into the picture and she seams to loss something. I was disappointed in this, but hopeful she will grow. She hasn’t had an easy life and it won’t be getting any easier. I will say I was shocked on the reveal of who she is and the thing about her blood is interesting. I’m curious to learn more on that aspect. As for Shade, the love interest, I liked him enough. I could understand his dilemma, it felt like something we all could go through, thou I think he should have told her what was what sooner. Both Tess and Shade have some flaws. I will say I very much enjoyed the secondary characters. I really liked Tess’s intersection with them and that they support her. The other character I found fascinating was this strange guy Tess and her crew find on the science station they stole. We only see him a little at the beginning and then again near the end. He’s a mystery and I like mysteries. The world-building is easy to understand. Their aren’t any unnecessary details, and the information we do get is spread out nicely. The author did a nice job in giving us snippets of Tess’s past. I liked what we got, when we got it, and that it’s not overwhelming. I had a delightful time reading Nighchaser. I will say that some of it felt like filler. The begging and end where outstanding, both in capturing the readers attention. The romance I’m not so on board with. It was way to fast and felt more like attraction, desire, and sex then falling in love. Their are still more books so, maybe we will see growth in that area and in some of the characters. The action, mystery, and politics kept my attention. I could have done with out the fast romance. Nightchaser is full of action and political intrigue. This is only the begging. Rated: 4 Stars *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Sourcebooks Casablanca via NetGalley with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.

Nightchaser was nothing like I expected but more than I ever anticipated. I couldn't help but be swepted away by the world created by Bouchet. I am also pretty ecstatic that I found this new epic space fantasy at the beginning, because I know nothing is going to keep me away from the Endeavor series as they come out. I received this ARC copy of Nightchaser from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Fun Characters with great build up romance in a outer space setting. My Review: I received this book via Netgalley, the following is my honest review. The last few years Amanda Bouchet has been one of my favorite authors, I am obsessed with her fantasy romance series Kingmaker Chronicles. I have to admit though that I was a little hesitant when it came to this book, I am not really comfortable in the Sci-fi genre yet and I wasn't sure how her writing would translate from high fantasy to Sci-fi. I shouldn't have been worried though, I really ended up enjoying this one. Even with different settings in space, I was still able to picture so much of the descriptions. I also fell in love with the characters, but let's all admit that Bonk steals the show. I really appreciated how the love of books and reading was drawn into the story, it was a little extra icing on the cake. I also like how the relationship struggles to unfold with so many doubts and opposing sides. I am looking forward to the next book! My Rating: I was pleasantly surprised with this book, though I shouldn't have been with my love of her other books. I enjoyed the story, the characters, the banter back and forth, and of course Bonk. I give it a rating of Four Paws!

I thoroughly enjoyed this authors recent fantasy romance series and simply couldn't resist this her new sci fi romance one. This the first book sets the scene with Tessa and her fellow crew members trying hard to undermine the ruling minority and helping to support those who are oppressed. Ok so far that's not sounding particularly different but the twist here is that Tessa is apparently the supposed very dead daughter of the big, bad Overseer ! It gets even more complicated when the reader realises that Tessa has very different blood to everyone else and its blood that has the most amazing properties but exactly why does Tessa have it ? This is hard to review because parts of this I loved , for example the very exciting high octane space walk that occurs but I did feel a tad bewildered by a character who is present at the beginning of this book only to disappear but then miraculously reappear for the end ! I enjoyed getting insights into the crew who share a tragic past with Tessa but alas any advance of their camaraderie is sadly changed by the way this story ends. It is a romance with a big, strapping hero in Shade who like Tessa has secrets of his own. Plus I enjoyed that the author gave us insights into what Shade was thinking and feeling. I honestly didn't understand Tessa at times though as she's been on the run, hiding who she is only to start blurting it out to just about anyone which really did not make sense. Plus at twenty six she's a woman who knows what she wants physically and yet constantly blushes and doesn't understand flirting ? That really felt odd but luckily the story progressed enough that I could stop feeling incredulous and actually start to really engage with things happening. I would love to read more in this series and I'm left with ideas, questions and possibilities floating around my head but unfortunately until the author writes the next book I will just have to wait ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Another absolutely fantastic read from Amanda Bouchet. The Endeavor series is set in space and follows Captain Tess Bailey and her rebel crew, fighting against the dictatorial Overseer. After stealing something the Overseer is desperate to get back, a ruthless general is on their tail, willing to do anything to capture her. When Tess hires Shade Ganavan to repair her damaged ship, she decides to trust him, even though that may not be her best move, since Shade has motivations she’s not aware of. Neither one can deny the irresistible attraction between them, but Shade is going to have to decide what is most important to him before they both get killed. What an awesome couple, and what an amazing ride of an adventure. I can’t believe the next book in the series isn’t coming out until next year, I want more of these rebels and their adventures.

Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet is the first story in her sci-fi romance series Endeavor. It's full of action and adventure and the story starts with a bang to keep you on your toes from the beginning to the end! Tess Bailey has known lots of hardship in her twenty six years and it's led her to her current position – captain of the star ship Endeavor and its small crew. They pride themselves on being Nightchasers, Robin Hood-esque thieves who steal from the rich and powerful to help the less fortunate. Tess tries to stay out of the limelight but when her crew steals a lab and the powerful vaccines inside it she's forced to make some quick decisions when the military government will stop at nothing to get them back. Landing on an out of the way Sector with a ship that barely survives a trip through dark matter, Tess seeks out someone who can repair her ship and make it space worthy again. She meets Shade Ganavan, clearly a space rogue but the guy who can get the job done without asking too many questions. Of course Shade has as many secrets as she does, but that doesn't stop them from acting on a mutual attraction for a sexy fling while she's in space dock. But can she trust the smooth talker or will it end with her and her crew in even deeper trouble? I loved the action packed start to this series and settled in for a fun and exciting ride! Tess has a crew of five – Jaxon, her best friend, and the man who helped her survive a stint in a prison colony, Miko and her grandmother Shiori, and Fiona, their resident biologist who all joined Tess when they escaped from the prison. They've been together for five years when this story starts and have gotten into all kinds of scrapes but always made it through. This time though, they may have stolen the one thing that won't be ignored by the higher ups. The story is told in first person point of view by Tess and third person point of view by Shade in alternating chapters which is a unique way to write the story but makes it clear that it's Tess's to tell. Tess is special, and the reader learns more about her as the story progresses and some surprisingly revelations are made. Shade and Tess get to know each other a little bit better as he works on repairs to her ship, leading to some sexy love scenes. But things aren't always what they seem, and the crew is forced to make more snap decisions and some harrowing and action packed scenes ensue. I don't want to give away too many details except to say that Shade and Tess come to an understanding (we'll call it a happy for now ending for them) and the story is clearly not over for the Endeavor crew. The worldbuilding is really interesting and if you're a fan of Star Trek or Star Wars type science fiction stories, you'll definitely be interested in this one! I can't wait to continue the series!

Action packed, adventurous, sexy fun! What an exciting and fresh story with an amazing cast of characters. An excellent introduction to a new series, I can't wait for more! I loved Tess, Shade, Tess’s crew, and the entire cast of characters introduced. They were all so fantastic! Tess is so strong and determined and I loved her kick ass, stand on her own, take on life at full force personality. She's got a wonderful crew with their own stories and very distinct personalities and I really liked the family they've formed. Shade was fantastic! He’s cocky and sexy and a bit challenging and had a great vibe. He and Tess meeting was awesome! It was flirty, bantering fun at its best. I liked learning about him and understanding the predicament he was in. Shade and Tess had such a great attraction and I loved that pull in the midst of everything that was going on. I felt so sucked into this exciting adventure with these determined and slightly broken characters and I was on the edge of my seat learning all the details. Set in the future, I loved all the technology and intricacies introduced about the time period. There's a lot happening, a lot of action and drama and some serious heart-stopping moments. It had this thrilling build as everything unfolded and developed, and Shade and Tess came together. I am truly excited for more in this series. There's definitely an HEA for Tess and Shade but the overall storyline continues and I can't wait to see where it all goes! Complimentary copy received for honest review.

Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet is the first book in her new Endeavor series. Having read and loved Bouchet debut series, I looked forward to reading this one. The premise of this series is more sci-fi/paranormal, but OMG I loved every moment of this story. Amanda Bouchet keeps on rising up as one of my favorite authors, and in Nightchaser she proves once again what a wonderful author she is. We meet our heroine, Tess Bailey, who is a Robin Hood space pirate, always stealing goods from the government (such as food or medicines) to help the poor/children. She is the captain of her ship, Endeavor, with crew (friends) that have been together for awhile and loyal to each other. Tess has a secret that very few know, she is the daughter of the overseer (evil leader) of the government, and she is supposedly dead. From the start, they are in deep trouble, as they narrowly escape from a death defying situation with the evil Dark Watch; an exciting beginning. Tess is desperate to find a place to land and fix their damaged ship. When they finally find a place to land the ship, Tess will set out to find whatever is needed to repair the ship. Enter Shade Ganavan, our hero, who does a bit of everything, including repairs. Shade, who is a hunk, finds Tess interesting, and wants to know more. He offers to help fix her ship, and also is determined to find out more about her. When he discovers she has a major bounty on her head, he finds himself in a quarry, as he becoming attracted to her , but knows he needs the money desperately. Will Shade turn Tess in for the money? What follows is an edge of your seat suspenseful adventure, pulling on all of our emotions. The last half of the book so exciting, I was unable to put the book down. Tess and crew find themselves in so many dangerous situations, we held our breaths if they would survive. Shade by then becomes part of the crew to help them survive, with the Dark Watch breathing down their necks. Bouchet catches us with some surprises that was unexpected, and it was very emotional. This turned into a fantastic read. Tess was an awesome kick-ass heroine; so strong, independent, loyal to her friends and I loved her from the start. Her goal was always to help others, not caring about her own life. Shade was also great, a sexy, handsome, strong hero, who also had his own secrets; but he turned out to be so good for Tess, especially when he realized that he was falling hard for her. They made a great couple, which in future books will become even better, as I recognize this from the previous series’ awesome couple (Cat & Griffin). I also totally fell in love with Bonk, a little kitty Tess adopts. I loved most the of the secondary characters, such as Jax, Fiona, Miko, Surreal, and even the evil characters like Overseer Novalight and Bridgebane were very well written. Nightchaser was a fantastic ride, filled with suspense, excitement, pulse pounding action, romance, in a wonderfully imaginative world building. Once again Amanda Bouchet brings us into another world, very different than the Kingmaker Chronicles series, but oh so good. I cannot wait for the next book. I seriously suggest, if you have not read anything by Amanda Bouchet, it time for you do so. Bravo Amanda for totally pulling me into another fantastic series.

I haven't read the first series by Amanda Bouchet, but I heard great things about it. So I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to read an ARC of this new series, even though I don't read much science fiction. And I absolutely loved it! I'd read more sci-fi if there were more books like this. Tess and her crew were thieves, but they gave the stolen goods to those who were desperately in need of them...things such as vaccines. Think of Robin Hood crossed with Star Wars. They captured a science lab which they believed held vaccines that were needed at the orphanage where Tess once lived. They were pursued by the Overlord's forces, and her ship Endeavor was badly damaged. The escaped and landed on a planet where they could get repairs. There she meets Shade. Shade is very attracted to Tess, but he is extremely conflicted. Should be follow his heart or his brain?I Tess was an awesome heroine; she was very strong and smart, but also had a huge heart. I just loved Shade. He was a strong alpha male, but he struggled between what he needed to do and what he wanted to do. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their physical time together was beyond steamy. The supporting characters were interesting, especially Jax. The parts of the story I loved best, though, dealt with books and cats. Both are extremely important parts of my life. I snickered and cried throughout the story. There was nothing I didn't like about this book. I can't wait for the next one! I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like this one before. This is so sci-fi but with romance and written in such a way that I was totally absorbed into the story from the first page. There is plenty of adventure, drama and action as well as a wonderful chemistry between the hero and heroine. I worried what type of decision Shade was going to make and how Tess would respond to his actions. It was the perfect amount of angst to keep the romance part of the story moving even while Tess is leading a group of rebels and keeping some pretty deep secrets to herself. Tess is a strong, independent heroine with a deep drive to protect those that she considers family. I loved her character in every way possible. Shade was protective and alpha enough to keep an eye on her but smart enough to know she led her own life and he couldn’t dictate to her. This is a lengthier book but it never felt bogged down or wordy. The secondary characters are awesome and the twists had me reading wide-eyed and transfixed. The steam factor didn’t even register to me because it was all about Tess, Shade and their gang and the danger that hovered dangerously close to them. The ending is a cliffhanger but it has a happy for now quality to it even as the future for these characters is uncertain. And now the wait for book 2…

What a fantastic read! Amanda Bouchet is quite the story teller and I loved this futuristic space world she has created! Tess, the female lead was so fierce and brave. She has such a sense of right no matter the consequences. She's a true rebel at heart. The mystery surrounding her has me anxious to find out more about her and what she can do. Shade is just plain awesome. He struggles with a huge decision in this first book and he fights his attraction to Tess. That didn't stop him from protecting her from the first moment he layed eyes on her. He is going to make for a great hero in this series. The suspense around Tess and her crew's fight for survival had me at the edge of my seat. The side characters were great and brought more to the story. This was a fun book to read. It doesn't end on a huge cliffhanger but it does set up the story for the next phase. I will be anxiously waiting for book two.

I must say that I ended up enjoying this book quite a bit. It did take me a while to really get into the story but once I did I had a lot of fun with it. I was really eager to read this book since I really liked her books from the Kingmaker Chronicles trilogy. This is the first book in a brand new series that blends science fiction with romance and I think it worked really well. Tess Bailey and her crew start out this story in a bit of trouble. They have a stolen lab attached to their ship and are about to be caught. They take a chance on a risky maneuver to escape and then need to put the pieces back together. Their ship needs a lot of work and they are wanted by the authorities. Tess runs into Shade who happens to have the skills to put her ship back together. I did like the characters in this story quite a bit. Tess was a bit of a mystery especially as the story started but I liked her more an more as we learned more about her past. She considers her crew to be her best friends but she has kept her past hidden from even them. Tess was smart, loyal, and kind, but unsure when it came to Shade. Shade has been through some things and has made some big mistakes. I must say that I liked him right away. He seemed incredibly confident and observant. He does have a pretty big conflict of interest to contend with and I did enjoy getting the chance to peer into his head as he tried to figure out what he wanted to do. I really did like Shade and Tess together even though it seemed to take a long time for things to start happening. I thought that they had great chemistry and their personalities seemed to mesh very nicely together. I really enjoyed the fact that they had some rather heartwarming scenes, some steamy scenes, some were filled with humor, and some with action. No matter what kind of scene they were in, it seemed that their characters just made it better because they were working together. I also really liked seeing the relationships that Tess had with her crew, who were really more like her family than anything. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys romance blended with some lighter science fiction. I think that this book is a solid first entry in what I expect will be an exciting series. I cannot wait to read more from Amanda Bouchet! I received a digital review copy of this book from Sourcebooks Casablanca via Edelweiss.

~ 4.5 stars ~ I have dabbled in the Sci-fi genre a couple of times and enjoyed it. When I saw that Amanda Bouchet, who wrote the amazing Fantasy trilogy The Kingmaker Chronicles, was writing a Sci-fi Romance novel, I just knew I had to read it. The reason I don't read a lot of Sci-fi is because of the complex word-building. Sometimes authors just go into too much detail, and I get confused and bored. However, that was definitely NOT the case with Nightchaser. The author did such an incredible job in giving very precise and easy to understand information about the world the story was set in. She didn't go in to unnecessary details, but the information she did hand out was spread evenly throughout story. Which I appreciated a lot. As a predominantly Romance reader, I was happy to see that the author took her time to have the main characters connect and develop a bond. Also the dual POV was great and made it so much easier for me to connect to the characters and their relationship. Captain Tess Bailey is strong, loyal, caring and a fighter. Amanda writes the best heroines, and Tess is one I love and am intrigued by. Shade Ganavan is also great, I had my doubts about him but thankfully he didn't disappoint. Nightchaser is an awesome action-packed Sci-fi Romance. There were a couple of scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and in tears. I am pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book and characters. There were a couple of twists towards the end that made me excited to see what will happen next. I highly recommend any Romance reader to give this book/genre a try, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

She could start a war… You may not know this about me, but I have an aversion to Tentacle Romance. My fellow readers have tried to convert me to loving “extra appendages” and “special abilities” but it’s just not for me. Unfortunately, I’m picturing characters like Jabba the Hutt, Yoda and Jar Jar Binks…which does not help my cause. So, I was pleasantly surprised when Nightchaser turned out to be Sci-Fi of the “Humans of the Future” variety. I really like Amanda Bouchet’s style of writing. Her heroines are strong, courageous, determined and capable of making a decision in the toughest of circumstances. While this strength makes them heroines to admire, she also balances them by giving them vulnerabilities and challenges. While Tess shares some similarities to Cat from Kingmaker Chronicles they are different. I don’t mind that the similarities are strength and courage, who doesn’t like to see a strong woman at the front. I tend to go into my reads a little blind, so, when introduced to male characters, *Are you my hero?* pops into my head. I met a few characters before the hero and I went through my usual checklist to see if my hero was up to scratch. Too much previous heartbreak for the first bloke and no emotional connection with the second one. Let’s just say, thank goodness it was Shade. Shade walked into the room and my Hero Beacon was flashing. The air was sizzling with chemistry, the snark and banter were appealing, and my smirk came to life with his physical description. I love that shiver up my spine when I meet a new hero. Nightchaser was an interesting story that kept my attention from start to finish. It was a thought-provoking look into what our future could be. I think deep down, we know that we are damaging our world so we can’t help wondering what we are going to do if we ruin it completely. Will it be a bomb, environmental damage or is there an expiry date for Earth, that will end us? I really enjoyed meeting the characters and learning more about where they had been and what their plans were for the future. Shade and Tess had a very rocky beginning. Even I wasn’t completely convinced that Shade was going to make the right decision for their future. Funny thing is though, I wasn’t completely sure of the right decision. Sure, I knew what would benefit Tess and her gang, but, Shade was working towards a goal and was close to realising it. I admired both Tess and Shade for their ability to look past their noses to benefit their world. The goodies were good and the baddies were bad…then again…the goodies could be bad and the baddies could be good. The trick is in the balancing act. In true Amanda Bouchet fashion, we are not given a clear picture at the beginning. Each page explained a little more of how the characters came to be and where and what they hope to achieve in the end. This is not just Tess and Shade’s journey. Each of the characters, even the additional ones have a path and while some of those paths end, others are just beginning. Nightchaser was a fast-paced, exciting and sexy adventure into the future. I was completely sucked in and I can’t wait for more. Stacey is Sassy, received a complimentary copy of this story. The copy provided is not the final copy and may be subject to edits and changes.

This first in a series from Fantasy Romance author, Amanda Bouchet, NIGHTCHASER (Endeavor #1) blasts onto the scene as a very enjoyable science fiction romance. Captain Tess Bailey and her crew are rebel fighters who take from the wealthy but most especially, the seriously evil Overseer who rules their universe with an iron and deadly fist. Pursued by the dreaded enforcers known as the Dark Watch, they make a heart stopping seemingly impossible narrow escape limping to Albion 5 to repair their ship which has some extremely precious stolen cargo. Tess meets the enigmatic and decidedly handsome Shade Ganavan who while helping to repair her ship, steals his way into her heart. Just as Tess has many secrets and a mission to protect not only her crew, but the place she calls home, Shade is holding back critical information as well. During their rebel activities, Tess and her crew come across something which might be a huge game changer determining the outcome of a looming war to take down the totalitarian government run by the Overseer. This federation in space known as the Dark comprised of star systems and Sectors may have peace; however, that enforced harmony comes at the price of total domination and a world washed of much of what makes the spirit soar including literature, art, and even colors other than drab browns, grey, and black. Shade’s attraction to Tess runs deep which puts him in an almost untenable dilemma. If he gives in to his heart, then Shade may just be throwing away everything he has been working for including making some questionable choices to achieve an intensely desired goal. Tess has strong feelings for Shade as well that could get in the way of some very difficult decisions she has to make as a rebel captain with many relying on her for their future survival. Tess and Shade’s story combines all the best qualities of a thrill ride space epic including gripping action and heart pounding adventures, interwoven with an overarching love story that adds heart and heat. This story works well on several levels for readers who enjoy not only romance, but Science Fiction with adrenaline-charged outer space exploits. Ms. Bouchet’s well-crafted tale and excellent writing make me quite happy as a reader to go on this literally stellar journey with strong characters, an exciting story, and exhilarating possible outcomes to see how the adventure will continue in the next book of the series.

Another page-turning success by the incomparable Amanda Bouchet. Bouchet’s characters take us on a quest to save sick orphans, attempts to evade capture from the Overseer’s forces, and return to the Fold. Tess’s character has as many hidden facets as the rest of her crew. The pace of the book kept the story moving faster than I anticipated. Shade is in the same predicament as the reader, in his attempts to uncover Tess’s secrets. Of course, the mystery of Tess eludes us to the very end of this book, with a cliffhanger. I hope there will be many more adventures with Tess, Shade, and the rest of the Nightchasers. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me review this book.
