Oak : Ecology, Types and Management

This book presents current research in the study of the ecology, types and management of oak. Topics discussed include oak wood characterization with regard to chemical, physical and mechanical wood properties; the diversification of cork oak; the use of oak wood in the manufacture of barrels for preparing and aging wines; oaks and mycorrhizal fungi and the physico-chemical characterization and microbial adhesion of oak wood with other wood species.
