Oklahoma Moonshine (McIntyre Men Series #2) by Maggie Shayne

THE McINTYRE MEN
The hottest billionaire cowboys in Oklahoma!

Fans of New York Times bestseller Maggie Shayne's award winning Texas Brands and Oklahoma All-Girl Brands series, are raving about this new spinoff, The McIntyre Men.

Kiley Kellogg and her twin sister Kendra were raised by a con-man who's sitting in prison. When Kendra dies in a tragic fire, all Kiley wants is to reclaim her home and start a new life. An honest life. The sprawling ranch where she grew up in Big Falls, Oklahoma, is on the auction block. She only knows one way to raise the funds to buy it. But she's determined it will be her final con.

Rob McIntyre is the most honest man in town. He surrounds himself with honest people, and has sworn off liars after a beautiful one broke his heart two years ago. He plans to buy a ranch, raise quarter horses, and live a peaceful, honest life in Big Falls.

Then he meets Kiley, who lies to him from their very first encounter. Yet he's powerfully drawn to her. He convinces himself that he'll be all right. She's a terrible liar, completely transparent to him. Instead of letting her con him, he partners with her and they purchase the ranch together.

But Rob is unprepared for the tangled, sticky web of deceit that threatens the entire town when her criminal relatives show up. And even more unprepared the overwhelming power and rapid growth of his feelings for Kiley.

There isn't much that Maggie Shayne writes that I don't love. This new series of McIntyre Men is not only entertaining, but brings new characters and old characters together (The Oklahoma Brands) I really enjoyed this book and I'm sure you will also.

**I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review.** ---------------------------- Maggie's on a roll! This take-off from the Brand series hits all the high points of any romance she's written. There are secrets, history, pain, joy, and love in abundance! Kiley is desperate; her sister is dead, her father's in jail, her family home is up for auction, and she wants more than anything to go straight. Up 'til now life has been a journey of attempts and failures at being "normal". Raised in a con-artist family she has never truly fit in, but now she needs to complete one last con to get everything she's ever wanted. Robert is distrustful of women because of his father's money, and can smell a lie a mile away. That doesn't stop him from wanting to help Kiley - even when she won't tell him the truth. There's just something about her that tugs at his heart strings. Robert's family accepts Kiley as she is because he's asked them to... and because that's who they are. From nothing to everything - can Kiley accept the future and be brave enough to grab for it? I love Maggie's down-to-earth storytelling. This was a fairly quick read for me which helps as I sometimes get caught up in one book for weeks and need a smaller read to lighten the load - so to speak. You won't regret picking up the newest installment in this family's saga!
