This story was captivating from the very beginning and I honestly finished it in one sitting. I absolutely loved Brian's character and for him to be on the young side, he sure acts more mature than half of the adults in this story. I enjoyed Jane's character although I wish she was stronger, especially when it came to Francois, Debbie and yes even Abby. I wanted Jane to stand her ground and not give up everything so easily. I hope in the next book she fights for what is hers and what she deserves. Lindy and her father Monkey needs to get in a car and ride off somewhere, anywhere but in the next story. Yes, I know its wishful thinking on my end. Lindy, Monkey, Francois and Debbie along with a few more characters can disappear for all I care; I dislike quite a few of them. This story ends with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more and I can't wait to see how everything plays out. I'm excited to see if things will go the way I think they will or if I will be completely shocked by everything. No matter what, I'm left wanting more and I can't wait to read the next book. This book is perfect for readers looking for a read that's captivating, has a bit of suspense along with parts that will make you laugh and scenes that will make you blush. I truly enjoyed it.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. She's older than he is, but Brian doesn't care. Meeting Jane was the best thing that every happened to him, even it was supposed to be a set up and a quick way to earn some much needed cash. I knew this book was first person, present tense going in and I *thought* it would help me, but **insert wailing** it didn't! Oh! Don't get me wrong! It's a bloody good book, a GREAT book! Brian meeting Jane and everything that happens after is well told from both their points of view. The plot moves along at an even pace. Not everything is revealed at once, it comes along in dribs and drabs, to enable you to process that little tit-bit, before the next one comes and grabs you. Brian makes no apologies for who he is, or where he came from, or how he got there. Once his mind was made up that he wants Jane, and not just as a quick f**k, he goes all out to get here. Jane too, once she begins to let Brian in, she goes all out and takes what he gives her. It has planted itself firmly on the "fan yourself, its a hot one" shelf! Brian is young and he wants Jane in every which way he can. And he does! But the best bit, for me, was when Brian decides to make love to Jane, rather than just bang her up against the wall. That surprised him, I think, the connection he could get from Jane doing that. Loved that! The cliff hanger I was expecting doesn't happen here, although there is a cliff hanger ending. But what THAT means is, what I expected to happen here, will come in book two! I will read it, because I want to know how this is all going to go down! I just **insert sigh** can't get past the present tense thing! It pains me, deeply! Because I LOVE Ms Pauls work! 4 stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

**Kindly receive an ARC of Old Enough from the publisher by way of NetGalley for an honest review, no compensations given.** This was the first book I have read by Charmaine Pauls. I was very intrigued by the synopsis and after reading Ms. Pauls bio I knew I just couldn't pass on reading this book. I am so glad that I took the chance. This book was so different, the twist of the older woman and younger man, I loved it! I really enjoyed the author's style of writing, and the attention to character development was spot on. This is Jane and Brian's story. I immediately fell in love with Jane, how could I not, she has both a tragic and courageous side to her. I was amazed how Ms. Paules was able to develop Brian's character, who is only nineteen, into a strong, dominant but also caring man. The way these two characters meet was definitely out of the ordinary, a bit of a twist there. The author also did a great job in developing the secondary characters some of which I liked and wanted to hug and some I really wanted to slap.. Right.. Across.. The.. Face!!! You will have to decide for yourself on that account. I also enjoyed all the conflict between the characters in this book. The story was both detailed and fast paced, with deceit, lies and everything in between and that kept me turning the pages and reading well into the night. There was also some interesting plot twists that I didn't see coming. Some of the storylines were sad, but the way in which the characters dealt with these issues had me admiring them even more. The romance that develop between Jane and Brian was spectacularly written. Loved the forbidden romance and the erotic scenes were panty melting. I honestly could not put this book down. There is a cliffhanger, and I will be insane till the end of August when the next book is published. The saving grace is I know it will be another outstanding read, so worth the wait. Old Enough is NOT a book that you should pass up. Happy reading.

4.5 Stars Review by Amy W. Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog My, my, my! Old Enough by Charmaine Pauls was not at all what I was expecting, it was a whole lot more! I don't want to ruin the story, but I will say that from the beginning I was hook on Brian and Jane's romance. I thought that this was going to be a quick and erotic story. What I got was a super erotic, highly involved story that was so much more than what meets the eye. And because I am a weirdo, I was super excited that there was a cliffhanger because that means there is more coming and I cannot wait! This was my first book by Ms. Pauls and I was not disappointed. The story flowed well and kept me intrigued all the way to the end. Age ain't nothing but a number, pick this hot as sin book up ASAP!

I was generously given an ARC for a honest review. This book was a first for me in the May/ Dec romance trope. Brian is 19 and Janet is twice his age with a 13 yr old daughter. The book deals with the baggage each character brings to a relationship and that's not even including the age thing. Brian is wonderful....even though he is only 19, he acts so much older and mature, probably because he's had to take care of his mom and sister since he was 9. He is a dominant male in and out of the bedroom and it makes for plentiful scorching hot sex scenes! Jane is a very vulnerable individual and at times I wanted to shake her so that she would get a backbone. But then her past holds her back so much...it's understandable. The whole book was very suspenseful because I kept expecting the pressures on Brian to explode! I can't wait for the next book!

Old Enough by Charmaine Pauls is book one in The Age Between Us series. This is the story of Brian and Jane. Jane just got confronted by her husband saying that he is leaving her and pursuing a relationship with a women he worked with and now loves. Jane of course is shocked and surprised that he would leave her after 12 years of marriage. Brian who will be 20 in 8 months has struggled to care for his family and really is older that his physical age through experience. Brian needing money for his little sister takes a 'job' that sets in motion a secret that may end up ruining something he didn't know he wanted. I am usually not the old woman / younger man romance reader but this book makes me want to read more of them. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next installment in their story!

I am a very big fan of the forbidden romance trope, so when I saw this I was intrigued. Often though these books can lead to a letdown because they are just cookie cutter copies of the same basic idea and are all about the intimate scenes and lack anything else of substance. Well, that was definitely not the case for this book. Was it hot and steamy? Yes It was, but it was so very , very much more. This is a complex, well written, deeply moving and powerfully engaging read. Brian and Jane. These are complex and complicated characters. Each burdened by the baggage of their pasts and bearing deep emotional scars. Both broken, both imperfect and yet, so perfect for each other. You will very quickly fall for both these characters and find your whole heart invested in their romance. This is book 1 of 2 and does end on a cliffhanger, but not a brutal one, and the conclusion releases in about five weeks. If the next book is as good as this one it will be well worth the wait. Jane. My heart breaks in so many ways for her. She has suffered more than her fair share of loss, pain, tragedy, unfairness and injustices in her life. She is smart, kind, talented, a great mom and a way better friend then some of her friends deserve and almost always comes across as a lady unless Brian is around to unfetter her inner carnal dragon that has been chained and asleep for years. She has been encouraged and forced to o and act and live a certain way by various people for years and it was so thrilling to see her begin to break free of other peoples ideals and expectations and start to evolve into who she was always meant to be. I can not wait until she goes into full "No More" mode and everyone that walks all over her gets what's coming to them. Brian. He may be younger in years but in life experience he's much, much older. Brian has grown up tough and in a tough neighborhood. He is not always a good guy, by his own admission and you may start out not liking him. However, he will quickly grow on you as you learn more about him and his family history. This guy is dominate, responsible, capable, smart, talented, motivated, hot, caring, kind, charming and often heartbreakingly sweet. Blindsided by and fully invested in the powerful and unexpected feelings he has for Jane, he is working hard to make her happy, keep them together, protect and provide for his family, find a way to avoid the threats and danger from his neighborhood and the exposure of a big secret. At it's core is of course the romance between Jane and Brian. And it is a doozy. In addition to the age difference (she's old enough to be his mom), it is an opposites attract story. Jane and Brian may only live miles apart but their lives and childhoods are worlds apart. This fact does nothing to dampen the fierce attraction that they feel towards each other. The chemistry they share just sizzles and sparks from the pages. The intimate scenes they share are scorching and fervent. They often include some elements of BDSM. Specifically bondage, spankings, voyeurism and some power exchange. Their romance is also very sweet and filled with tender emotions. In total this book was just amazing! It has a brilliant blend of romance, passion, emotional turmoil, lies, secrets, danger and a bit of suspense that will grab your interest and not let it go. I fell in love with Jane and Brian and I am fully vested in seeing them get the HEA they both deserve. For now I eagerly await book 2. This is my completely hones

I gotta say this is the best older woman, younger man tropes I have read to date. The author did a brilliant job of making this 19 year old come off as one of the most confident and dominant heroes and yet stay true to his age. Brian's story is believable. The way he is an old soul due to how young he was when he had to become the man of the house. I'm very intrigued by him and I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what is going to happen in book 2. I'm not sure how I feel about Jane yet. I like her. She honorable and honest but maybe too much. I want her to assert herself to a few of the side characters. She is almost too innocent in the midst of many sharks in her life but that is also why I'm loving Brian so much. The way he takes care of her is very appealing. There are so many outcomes I can see for the next book. I really don't know what to expect and that's a big reason why I am so enthralled with this story. I'm so happy book 2 is being published not long after this book. ARC provided by Author.

Charmiane Pauls has done it again...she has given us another page-turner that will have you hooked until the end and leave you wanting more. Old Enough is the first book in The Age Between Us duet. This forbidden romance will evoke a range of emotion from you, it will shock you, anger you, make you swoon and so much more. I finished this story yesterday and I can't get these characters out of my mind. The novel is gripping, addictive and intriguing. Its a story about an older woman/younger man. Jane and Brian's characters were so well written you will be rooting for them in no time. In this novel we get an insight into their individual lives and budding relationship. These characters soon steam up the pages with their HOTT scenes yet at the same time the story is complex and deeply moving. This story had elements of danger and suspense and there is also a mystery hidden within the story that has not yet been revealed. And then there is the cliff-hanger ending that will just shock you. OMG...I can't wait for book 2. Old Enough is a phenomenal read and definitely worthy of more than 5 stars. I loved it and I would highly recommend it.
