Another excellent addition to the series that I couldn't put down. I can't wait for book four.

Ms Campbell, please, please keep writing these books and continue the series. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a crime-mystery-suspense, with a bit of natural attraction-romance as much as I enjoyed this book. The animals and resulting confusion adds the perfect amount of humor to a suspenseful plot.

*Book source ~ NetGalley Hannah Dawson was a live-in home care nurse for Ellie Parham. When Ellie died she left Hannah her precious cat and dog, Abbott and Costello, and a surprising fortune of $10 million to take care of them. While the money definitely makes life easier, Hannah and the animals are now targets for every wack job trying to get an easy ride. When her house is broken into, even after she moved, she decides it’s time to hire protection. Zachary Collins has his own security firm and it’s been years since he starred in the tv show The Psychic Detective. When Hannah walks into his office he already knows who she is and, as he reluctantly takes the contract to protect her and the boys, he hopes she never finds out how he secretly meddled in her life, changing the course of her future. But as the attempts to nab the boys escalate and he starts falling for her, he realizes he has to ‘fess up before she finds out on her own. As the pieces of Ellie’s puzzle fall into place, will Zach and Hannah’s puzzle fall apart? This one kept me guessing only because not all the players showed up on page. Which was annoying. The mystery is decent, but it could use some work. Some foreshadowing of who all the suspects are would have been nice and by the conclusion there is a loose end that didn’t get tied up. In addition, there are a couple minor content errors that should have been caught in editing. Having said that, I will add that I did enjoy the story. It has sexual tension, humor, mystery, suspense and a dash of the paranormal. What’s not to like? The characters are decently written and I gotta say the cat and dog are my favorite. Their inner dialogue sounds just like what I’d expect. LOL There are two more books (so far) in this series and I will have no problem continuing on.

5 star This book has a little bit of everything – a little paranormal, mystery, humor, and twists and turns. When someone tries to kidnap the cat and dog Hannah hires Zach a private detective. After a hit to the head he can hear the cat and dog’s thoughts….. Zachary and Hannah are both strong characters but it’s great the Zachary needs Hannah to help him out at times. The pets are funny and keep the laughs coming. Can they solve the mystery? Or will the twists and turns keep them running around? Can they fight the chemistry or will that overwhelm them? I recommend this story. Can’t wait to read more of this series.

On the Scent by Angela Campbell is one of those books that keeps you excited about what's going to happen next. It's extremely well written and keeps you turning the pages. I loved watching the chemistry build between Zach and Hannah and loved the storyline of him having to protect this woman who just inherited pets and their $10 million dollar fortune. It's a great read and one I highly recommend to fans of romantic suspense.

ON THE SCENT by Angela Campbell is an interesting and exciting Contemporary Romantic Suspense. A modern day Dr. Dolittle meet Hannah Dawson. What a wacky, funny story. Hannah Dawson,a nurse, inherits $10 million and a dog and a cat. So begins the adventure of Hannah Dawson and Zackary Collins, the street smart private investigator who just happened to have been an ex-TV star of the popular T.V. Show “The Psychic Detective”. Hannah now needs protecting as well as her inherited canine and feline. Zach is attracted to Hannah, needs to protect her,she is a client and of limits and has a few secrets of his own. A romantic suspense meets romantic comedy. Well written with engaging characters,a feline,a canine, a quirky nurse and a delicious detective. OH did I mention it is hilarious, serious and filled with passion! A must read for anyone who enjoys humor, animals, hunky not so psychic detectives, a bit of suspense,a little romance and lots of humor. All I can really say is… it is a wacky, funny, hilarious romance with a bit of suspense and two interesting animals. A quick read with a few twists and turns. You will not regret picking up “On the Scent” for your summer fun! Received for an honest review from the author. I liked Campbell's voice as a writer and really enjoyed the humous moments of the book with the pets. These sets of dialogue were awesome! This love story is a madcap caper kind of romance-romantic comedy meets romance suspense.   While the book was fun, the characters did not really captivate me because so much of who they were was revealed in backstory rather than woven into the love story.  The hero resists so much that I don't really get the falling in love feeling I so enjoy in books like this. I needed more of the relationship to really invest in this story. I did like the secondary characters a great deal and will check out books about them that may come along. I was given this book for my honest review. So, there you have it!
