With Bailey Burke's design and staging business booming- it turns out tangling with a serial killer is the best advertising ever- she has no time to lament her lack of love life, or wonder where her dead friend Ryan's ghost has gone. She hasn't seen him in months, but when she finds a body in a home she's been hired to stage she's hounded by the dead man's ghost.

Having been a medium before, this guy is by far the most irritating ghost she's ever met, with his constant need to talk over her and flick pennies at her head. Without Ryan to guide her, she's on her own to figure out what the dead man needs from her. On top of all that, cop Jake Marner is back in her life, ostensibly to protect her, but mostly to confuse her as to whether they are dating or not.

Before she can say "Put It Where?" Bailey finds herself immersed in mob dealings, the secret world of male-only sweat baths, and double dealings. When another body turns up, there is no doubt that she's in over her head... again.

I don't know how many times I laughed while reading this book, but it was a lot! The crimes are, well, crimes and Bailey really needs to change her job title! I loved the beginning, middle, and end. A quick read since I couldn't stop reading it. I've read 3 books so far and plan to read the fourth!

Erin McCarthy writes about a girl who sees ghosts, one of them being a smart-ass, and a murder mystery. Great quick fun summer read.

Interesting characters in a good story. The author has definitely put an entirely different spin on being a "medium". The other two books with Bailey are equally interesting and enjoyable. I would definitely purchase more stories staring Bailey and Jake. I'd definitely enjoy reading about Jake meeting Bailey's mother. Bailey has a unique way of saying what she thinks without being vulgar or crude. Her friend Alyssa is a good example of how opposites attract.

Favorite Quotes: “Sammy Salami?” That couldn’t be real. None of this could be real. Maybe Marner was right and I had lost my mind. Because no one should have a nickname that referenced processed meat. I didn’t need to be insulted by a man with hair on his ears and a belly that rivaled a woman pregnant with triplets at full term. I breathed a huge sigh of relief and finished my drive home singing along to the Backstreet Boys, a guilty pleasure that brought to mind awkward middle school dances where I had been sporting braces, a denim mini-skirt and Uggs. I hadn’t been a seductress then either. She gave him a quick kiss and went back to work, giving a laugh that was throaty and mature and sexual. A laugh can sound that way, trust me. And only women over forty know how to do it. I wondered if at thirty-nine a switch would flip and I would magically understand how to be seductive, a genuine femme fatale. My Review: I giggle-snorted my way through this cleverly written and delightful amusing conclusion to the weak stomached Bailey’s ghostly murder-solving spree. With this installment, Bailey continued to receive occasional visitations from her friend Ryan but had also picked up the additional spirit of her new client who happened to be a freshly murdered rotund mobster named Cezar who had been unfortunately killed while in his swim trunks. Cezar tortured and blackmailed Bailey into helping him by loudly “caterwauling” off-key to his repertoire of pop divas like Brittany Spears until she finally caved and agreed to assist him in locating his missing body. Her romance with the stud muffin policeman, Jake Marner, was finally on track and he made for a sweet and perfect boyfriend. Jake currently resides on my list of sexy BBF. Written from the first person POV of Bailey, I greatly enjoyed her humorous inner musings and comical descriptions. Erin McCarthy has mad skills.

This is book 3 in the Murder by Design series and it features Bailey, Jake and Cezar Wozniak. Bailey and Jake are getting closer, which is fantastic! We see a sexier side of Marner, which adds a little bit of spicy angst to this book. Cezar, the ghost, is a real pain in the butt, as most of them are. There are a couple of unexpected twists and turns in this story line. This series has been full of humor, quick witted people, unrequited feelings, irritating ghosts and finally love. Bravo Erin McCarthy! I loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this conclusion to McCarthy's Murder By Design Series. Bailey Burke is a spunky, likable heroine, and this book once again finds her seeing and interacting with ghosts. This book is fun, filled with quirky characters and plenty of action. This is a lighthearted cozy mystery with a touch of romance.

This is the third book in Erin McCarthy's Murder by Design series. I've really enjoyed reading this series. It is filled with murder, suspense, love and humor. Bailey Burke doesn't know if her being able to see dead people the last few months is a blessing or a curse. It all started after her best friend Ryan was killed except he's been MIA lately while other ghosts have needed her help finding out what happened to them. All of this has caused her love life to come to a screeching halt since Jake Marner doesn't quite know how to process the fact that his girlfriend not only sees ghosts, but helps them find out how and why they died. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

The third and the best of the series! I feel like Bailey really comes into her own in this story and I love her progress with Marner. Nice job Erin McCarthy! I love your stories and look forward to more. I received a free copy for an honest review.

Bailey has a very challenging past year or so. First, she loses Ryan unexpectedly but now he has been reappearing to her as a ghost trying to provide her guidance. Next, she is kidnapped by a psychopath trying to kill her because he doesn’t want to bust him for bad activities killing people. Her paranormal powers have created her to be standalone from her friends and even her kind of boyfriend Marner when she talks paranormal. Bailey has taken on a new job to stage a new old home for sale. As she is working on it she finds a body on the deck and its dead. What she finds out later is she is the only one that can see the body not the cops or anyone else. The escapades that happen in this book between the ghost and bailey at times were hilarious and some time you actually felt bad for her because they didn’t believe her. I thought the story had many fun twist and turns in it. As usual Ern McCarthy is an awesome writer. I have loved her writing and this book and series does not disappoint. I highly recommend reading this book. I have fallen for this character and her desire for the shy cop. Give it a chance it’s a good Romance with a twist of mystery. I provided this review after receiving an ARC from the Author.

This series is just fun and I am sad to see it end. Bailey is a fun character who has some crazy things happen to her. I will say she handles them better than I ever would! I love the by-play between her & Ryan & Jake. Jake is a wonderful cop who has the patience to deal with Bailey's craziness ;) And we love him even more for it! Fun series by the Always fabulous Erin McCarthy!

Fun fast read. Third book in the series I suspect is the final, to truly appreciate it you should read the previous books. Bailey's world was turned upside down with death of her friend Ryan, but he reappeared to her in the first book and thus began her seeing and talking to ghosts. In this installment, Bailey finds what she thinks is a dead guy at a house she is supposed to stage for selling and the adventure takes off from there. Marner is more prominent in this book, and we finally have romance with our murder mystery. Lots of humor, good fun, and all is not as it seems, even with the ghosts. Hopefully there might be a future story, or a novella around Bailey
