About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her husband, their two children, and a foulmouthed parrot. When she ran away, she traveled fourteen countries across five continents, attended three universities, and married the vocalist of her favorite rock band.
Java, tobacco, and dark romance novels are her favorite indulgences, and might be considered more unhealthy than her aversion to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.

Everything I normally avoid in a story, but it is put together so beautifully, I couldn't look away! This book has a dead ex, a broken heart, stubborn people, betrayal, pain, and a whole lot of tears. But it also has a second chance, sweetness, racing hearts, new beginnings, and a whole lot of hope. When all the bad is overwhelming, Danni focuses on the good. She does the good, appreciates the good, and finds the good. She has been to rock bottom and has to stop herself from going there again. She makes her choices, and grasps the little bit of control she has, to keep an even keel Trace is the wild one, unpredictable, and overwhelming. Their outside appearances belie what is happening below the surface, and, once you get to the end of the book, and the cliffhanger, you realize how much has been boiling there all along This story had everything I avoid in a book, but I'll keep coming back until all the stories are done, because the characters are just that amazing!

This was a good book. It was romantic, heart breaking, and kept me at the edge of my seat. I liked the connection between the characters, felt the pain of losing him. But then she is given a second chance at life and love. It was very erotic, the sex scenes were very graphic. And it ends with a cliff hanger. Yes, i would recommend. Gtx

Reading the blurbs for all three books (including Two is a Lie & Three is a War), I had an idea of what would happen at the end of this book, but there was a little spin on it at the end that made me arch an eyebrow and cackle an evil laugh out. How deliciously fabulous. I love the push and pull I had with myself while reading this story. The push of "oh hell no how can she be down with that" to the pull of "holy smokes he is sexy". I cannot wait to see the web that the author will continue to spin for the next two books. I love a good love triangle and I can just tell I will be in for one hell of a ride.

Pam Godwin has once again sucked me into one of her stories and I'm left at the end of the book needing more immediately!!! I felt Danni's heartache over losing Cole so soon after meeting him and then a hot new guy Trace showed up and swept her off her feet. Then ...... happens and I'm like what the F. NOOOOOO I can't wait to see what else Godwin has in store for us in the next book. Two is A Lie! This book will leave you panting from all the sexiness going on and screaming for more at the end!

This book right here is why I read. I have been in somewhat of book funk, it wasn't that the books where bad they just weren't holding my attention, I can honestly say this was one of the first books in long while I've read without distraction. It was all down Pam Godwin and her magical writing, she tricks you almost as it doesn't feel like you're reading the work, you are living them. This is a powerful provoking story about Danni, her love and her loss, does dying break the "One Promise" of forever, that's what Cole promised until he dies on his last mission. Danni is beyond broken by his loss, they fell in love fast and those feelings just don't stop even after the loss. So when Trace enters into Danni's life can he compete with the love of a dead mans ghost? However, everything isn't what it seems, the more into the story the more you realise true love never dies, but it doesn't mean you can't move on and love someone else too, that your love can't evolve. The ending screams anticipation with impending questions of what will Danni do, because my god I loved her character, she was real to me, she was maybe brokenhearted but never broken. I'm so ready for book two as I can't wait to be torn over twists and angst I know Ms. Godwin will deliver. This is reason I read books like this the what the need for the next book even though you're still reeling from the first.

There are different kinds of love triangles, but the type depicted in One is a Promise is my favorite because there is no cheating and no clear “right” choice for the heroine. Cole was Danni’s first true love. Theirs was an immediate, intense attraction. It’s been years since he was suddenly taken from her and she still hasn’t been able to move on. Trace comes along and unexpectedly becomes her second chance at happily ever after. The two men couldn’t be more different, but she loves them equally. Danni is a dancer, and I love how prominent music is in her life. Some authors create playlists for their books. One is a Promise has a full soundtrack. Music is integral to the storyline, and you can tell that each song is carefully chosen to reflect the mood of the characters. One of the most unique aspects of the book is the artwork displayed at the beginning of each chapter. Creative silhouette illustrations foreshadow the events of the chapter. This book would have earned more stars from me if it weren’t for Trace. His and Danni’s relationship is volatile, and they resist their fierce magnetism every step of the way. Trace is very antagonistic through most of the book, so it’s hard to understand how Danni could so easily fall in love with him given his cold behavior and mixed signals. It’s equally difficult to believe Trace’s sudden declarations of love. Things become clearer toward the end, and while hindsight is a wonderful thing, it comes a little late in the story. There are aspects of Danni’s relationship with Cole that are glossed over. That’s not really a bad thing, though, since it piqued my interest and leaves room for more revelations in the next book. I’m trusting Pam Godwin to provide enough plot to support three full-length books. This is the first book in the trilogy, so I anticipated a huge cliffhanger. Even though I guessed pieces of the ending, there are still plenty of surprises. With intriguing characters and a huge mystery, I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we first practice to deceive!! Is All fair in Love & War ? I'm so confused. What did I just read.. is it love or war ? . I'm in Love with Trace " Stodgy , Womanizer " Savoy But I also love Cole Hartman, the Leather Clad, Bike Rider, whose Dimples are pits I fall in. There's this Exotic Urvashi - a danseuse crafted by God himself, to tempt the mortals with her sensuous waves of her hips and belly. She's an Enchantress, seducing Both Cole and Trace with her body. And what a body this dancer has !! “You, my tiny dancer, are an erotic dream dipped in the sweetest honey. Cole steals her heart, promises to be there for her ...Forever. then vanishes Trace comes 3 years later ...and she falls for his reluctant Love." Now what ??!! The missing answers leave me wide awake. Confused. Flipping and flopping. Anxious. Huffing and puffing. Me too People...Me too.... This story is written with so much Passion...it burns the pages in your hands. Danii is sassy, mouthy, straightforward and sensuous Trace and Cole are alpha, Sexy, mysterious males. So who will she choose... the triangle will hurt her good. "For every finger to receive a ring, another finger must pull a trigger.” Writing is superb...so fantastic, I finished this book in straight one sitting. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. And now I'm reeling. For being so beautiful, Pam sure can be sadistically evil....leaving me with a dilemma. Cannot wait for June 27th !!!! #WritePamWrite .... 5+ belly shaking stars

What a roller coaster ride of emotions This is only the first book of the series. Wow! what a roller coaster ride of emotions. I loved Ms. Pam Godwin's new book. This book is beyond beautiful. The story is so mesmerizing especially Danni and Trace. This is two keeps pulling me through from the start to the finish. I loved these two characters. They are my favorite. This book is emotional, funny and so hot. One hot scene is about up in the air, that scene is not only hot but so unique. Trace drives me insane. This guy is mysterious, yet sweet and romantic. I wish Danni will pick him in the end of the series but we will see. I liked the songs too. I loved how the illustration in every chapters. It is adorable. I am looking forward to read the second book from the series. If you loved to dance, this book is I recommend aside from the family love and romance. You should check this series out.
